ODROERIR - "HYPERBOREA"

Hyperborea ist eine aus dem antiken Griechenland überlieferte sagenhafte Insel im äußersten und damals noch ziemlich unbekannten geografischen Norden. Der Name bedeutet nach gängigster Meinung so viel, wie jenseits des Nordens.
Boreas war ein Sohn des Titanen Astraios (Abenddämmerung) und der Göttin Eos (Morgenröte) und stand als Synonym für den Nordwind.
Es gibt diverse Überlieferungen und Legenden über dieses Eiland und dem dazugehörigen Volk, den Hyperboreern. Daraus entstanden, auch schon damals und bis in die heutige Zeit, etliche Hypothesen, wo eigentlich jenes Stückchen Erde liegen sollte, bzw. welchem Gebiet es gegenwärtig entsprechen könnte, oder auch welcher archäologisch bekannten Kultur es zuzuordnen sei.
Diodor, ein bekannter griechischer Geschichtsschreiber, beschreibt auf Hyperborea einen runden Tempel, wo Apollo verehrt wurde und welcher auch alle 19 Jahre dort angeblich verweilte. Selbst seine Mutter soll auf dieser Insel geboren sein. Das Heiligtum wurde irgendwann mal mit Stonehenge gleichgesetzt und infolgedessen Großbritannien mit Hyperborea identifiziert.
Ein römischer Gelehrter namens Plinius, umschreibt für das Land das Phänomen der Mitternachtssonne und das sich dort die Achse des Firmaments befindet. Unter anderem resultierte hieraus die Verortung von der Insel auf Skandinavien, wo jenes Naturereignis über dem Polarkreis allgegenwärtig ist.
Passend zu jener Lokalisierung von HYPERBOREA, wurde das Videomaterial in diesem Lied von einer Norwegenradreise von Trondheim bis zum Nordkap aus dem Jahre 2016 verwendet. Es zeigt bildgewaltig die fantastische Landschaft und atemberaubende Natur Nordeuropas.

We don't know anything about the music of Nordic people during Greek and Roman times. We certainly don't know whether they used throat singing.
It is not even clear what specific culture the Greeks were referring to by "Hyperborea".
But lutes, flutes and drums were certainly part of that cultrue's music so saying that "nothing in this" is Nordic is quite a stretch.
Despite foreign influences Odroerir are clearly a German and European band and their music couldn't have come from any other part of the world.

It's probably not Nordic in origin it is Altaic related but if the Nordic ppl did throat singing they could've gotten it from Uralics and who knows maybe this gives a clue of a possible ural-altaic theory link
