I have the choras and I can garentee these will be fantastic speakers… probably upgrade my front channels to these and shuffle the rest around when I decide to do 7 bed layers
@7:00.. . mhh thats not realy good for my taste. When i look at for example a Neumann KH150 wich is in the same size, they goes down to 39Hz with +/- 3dB. But anyways, i would always use Subwoofer(s) & DSP to get perfect control over roommodes and cut off the Front Speakers even only for Stereo listening, so you dont need to spend the money on towers and go straight with smaller compact bookshelf speaker.
You are comparing at 1700$ per speaker, studio monitor vs a 1k$ per pair consumer speaker. Its not hard to image that the Nuemann is going to win in that comparison.

When you cut the main at 80 or 100hz anyways, a compact speaker has the same or sometimes better performance than towers and you save money wich you can spend in good Subs, DSP & room treatment. When i would by a bigger speaker i would go something in between like a Neumann KH420, Genelec 8361, Barefoot MM27 (yes i know they are far more expensive)...
I love them,but the rear port ruins it for me . I find them in the right situation to be only a little better than my Choras ,but the rear ports didn't fit my home so my Choras will stay .
Your movie have to deside me to buy the complete theva Line for my homecinema, with 2x svs sb3000 on my marantz cinema 40! It's crazy how good it sounds.

Pros and Cons to both port designs. Focal's engineers found it better to be rear ported for these. Just need to be sure to give them a little space off the wall to get the best performance.

You are correct. When filming our video it was tough to keep them super clean. However, if you have the right environment, they look absolutely beautiful when cleaned correctly.

Tower speakers with subs trumps bookshelf speakers with subs in most medium to large rooms.
