regarding the "Violin thing" small correction: the violin thing which he started performing from this tournament is dedicated to his daughter, she started taking violin classes few moths ago..this is the most basic version of the story, ask Novak what does this mean in terms of his internal family stories. Some Serbian friend of mine translated to me one of the interviews in serbian where Novak explained this violin thing, FYI

They liked djokovic was he was dancing for them, when he was doing impersonations he was loved… when he started taking things seriously and started winning is when he was hated. Yes, he wanted to be liked but the unappreciated and often hostility towards him is what made him a monster. The public is to blame. For years the crowds have been overly hostile towards him because he started to beat up on their heros. Djokovic didnt create the hate, he responded to it.

Have to agree with the smart comment about tennis being one of the hardest sports...I'd add in the sense that it's incredibly difficult to be consistent in the sport and to dominate it in a way that you can with talent and hard work in other sports. When you've got a LeBron James or any other dominant player in a league whether it be basketball, hockey, or any team sport, they generally can be consistent over at least half of their career or longer. However, being dominant in tennis for more than 5 years is literally an anomaly and not the norm. You can win a grand slam one year and look like you dominate everyone playing at the time and then completely fail for years and years after. Every great from Nadal to Williams to McEnroe and Sampras were beaten a number of times from players who showed brilliance and promise. They might have gone on for a year or two more, but ultimately failed to be as consistent as these greats were who probably comprise 1% or less of successful players on the tour at any given time. Thiem Roddick, Chan, del Porto, Sloan Stevens, Andreescu, Kenin, and there's a huge list who've been prominent with notable careers and the next big thing in their time but only won one Grand Slam their entire career. Many of the greats have never won a Grand Slam. Injuries are prevalent and so many other things are taxing as is the playing schedule and it is much more of a confidence game than just talent and skill. And sometimes flashes of brilliance are just that when everything's going your way. And then suddenly it's not.
