- Automated announcements from Banbury station, voiced by Celia (and a few by Phil). Please note that following an upgrade, Phil no longer announces at Chiltern Railways stations. Thanks for watching and don't forget to like, comment and subscribe!
You can hear which bits are older original Ditra recordings back when the original preset format was "The xx.xx service to destination will depart from platform x, calling at stations and destination."
Nice captures! Good to hear announcements we haven't heard from her for a couple of years
Thanks! Yes, nice to hear Celia calling some SWR stations.
Nice recordings! The way that Celia said “Great Western Railway” caught me off guard though.
Ikr!!! She sounds like she is panicking!
Maybe she was panicking because she realised she didn’t have it recorded! 🤣
@@Parallel395 It doesn't seem to be from the old "First Great Western" branding.
@@HB-wy1dc It might be from when they were known as ‘Great Western Trains” although I could be wrong.
Still odd to hear south bound Celia
Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland at some point?
Good selection up there :D
Did the Newcastle service start from Reading?
Was good stuff minus the guilt tripping COVID announcements
Wait what! What happened to Phil announcing trains towards London?
He’s now been removed from Chiltern. They did an upgrade (apparently they nearly switched to ATOS) but Phil’s voice was no longer licensed for the system so announcements are now all Celia.
@@Parallel395 that’s such a shame! thank god they haven’t changed to ATOS (yet) I don’t think it will be that long until that happens
@@jamiesbusrailandannoucneme1667
I think northern will keep ketech for maybe 1-3 years before switching back to ATOS
I don’t think Northern will switch yet, as they’ve only just more or less standardised their CIS
@@jamiesbusrailandannoucneme1667 Northern have only just finished installing ketech at most/all of their stations, so they probably won’t use atos for a while, if ever.
