First hotel, Aulanko is famous for having most famous Finnish upcoming actress Sirkka Sari falling in its chimney and dying accidentally in 1939, If I remember correctly. She was only 18.
Thanks. It snowed in southern part of Finland (the north has snow as "it should"). The ground is white in Jyväskylä. Oh, it's snowing right now. Of the hotels shown here i have stayed in the Hilton at the airport. Some hotels have bikes for rent; some have free of charge, at least ordinary bicycles. The Main Road 13 is a long road, going from the Russian border to Kokkola via Jyväskylä. Originally it started from Viipuri (Russian name Vyborg).
@0:40 Completely opposite here. After couple weeks of what started to feel like Spring, we got hit by second Winter, about 10cm of snow and temperatures firmly below 0C. @5:12 Never played tennis, and my only experience from golfing is through minigolf. @9:06 There's 3 Hilton hotels in Finland, all of which are located in the Greater Helsinki metropolitan area. @19:36 Yeah there are a lot of places in Finland that share a common name. For example one of the more common ones "Pyhäjärvi" (which literally translates to "Sacred Lake"). There's 1 current and 1 former municipality in Finland called Pyhäjärvi (there even used to be third, but that was ceded to Soviet Union after Winter War and Continuation War), 2 municipalities in Russian Karelia called Pyhäjärvi, further 4 villages called Pyhäjärvi and at least 38 lakes called Pyhäjärvi. This is just one of many examples. @21:20 Yeah the highway 13 is probably one of the more confusing ones, cause it has so many sections (quite long sections too) where it shares the road with another number and the other numbers seem to take precedence on Google Maps unless you zoom in real close. It does indeed go from Kokkola on the Bothnian Bay all the way to the Russian border near Lappeenranta.
Thanks for watching! Kiitos katsomisesta!

In Lahti we are testing a brand new improved springtime! Now 100% less spring and more snow than previously!
Freezing rain at night and then snow on top of that. Fun times!
@@JS... Boy I cannot stand freezing rain. Give me snow or rain but nothing that freezes everything in a block of ice

That's crazy - falling in a chimney!

Yeah, the total length of the road is 499 kilometers (310 miles).
I actually was reading the history of Viipuri/Vyborg - and then went down a rabbit hole about the Winter War...

Mini-golf! Is that popular in Finland - at resorts/summer locations?
I wouldn't stay at Mesku if you payed me. Cheers from Turenki!
Right, I tried to be comprehensive! The locations should not be seen as recommendations or endorsements...
Hello to Turenki!
Thsi was fun. I got the first two rounds NMPZ and then it got harder and harder, but still 25k :)
Wherever you stay, skip Mesku. And that comes from a local. 😂
Today there was a radio commercial about beginners golf course here in yyteri golf course, Pori.
99 euros.
Can you play golf now? Or does snow cover the courses?
