@@soydoratheadorer7348 i do unnderstand that , and i agree that if she does wrong she should be, but why do we draw aline to some other groups or boygroups??? like idols would do more than her but they wouldn't get cancelled instead they say its not their fault its the stylist okay if its the stylist faults then why can't her case be the stylist fault too....i just think their is double standards and people are always trying to find faults for her, i believe no one is perfect this woman addressed these issues even some companies had to address them but still people look for faults...example she won an award either mama or mma and people were saying she doesn't deserve it but when you look at the numbers her song pulled and the records she has broken she clearly deserve it . i just hope her mental health is good and she is. always surrounded by people she loves and receives more love cause its sad what they do to her...

There have also been times where her name makes it to trending forcibly even when she literally didn't do anything just because fans want to cover up their own idol's scandal, which happened when a blink photoshopped a pic of Chanyeol and Rose which then got spread and people thought it was real. Then her name got pushed into trending again to cover that up, and other times too.

Whether it is BTS, Black pink, G-idle, NCT, Mamamoo, and many more, they have made mistakes, but the key difference is whether they actually apologize and try to amend their mistakes. Boy groups such as NCT have done a lot of cultural appropriation but never get shit for it. I've seen so many fans defend them for being ignorant, but in NCT they at least have a fucking American member compared to groups such as Mamamoo, where all the members are entirely born and raised in Korea. There are NCT members who have wore durag, said the n-word and worn cornrows. They have never once apologized for anything they've done. I'm sick of boy groups like NCT getting away with murder while mamamoo gets so much flack for "not learning" or "they never learn".

Hwasa is very playful and her energy comes up when the other's do, but she is the most chill and laid back member (or female idol in general).

Hwasa is basically everyone's punching bag on Twitter by other kpop stan. They're jealous and just want to make their tweets trend by mentioning her name and it works so they just keep doing it.
But outside of Twitter she's really loved, even in Korea for her hollywood/western like body. Meanwhile, on Twitter everybody treats her as if she's supposed to be kicked out of the group since she's so "ugly" 😒
Part of why I stopped going there really. The amount of crazy kpop stans making fake accounts to bash other groups or trolls that are just trying to make people hate kpop by giving everyone a bad name...

Next you should just start at the beginning with their MVs. The two pre-debut songs - Don't Be Happy and Peppermint Chocolate are a good place to start then their debut Mr Ambigous.
seriously, no matter how many dancers are onstage with her, you just can't take your eyes off hwasa. her stage presence is insane. also crazy is her ability to (mostly) turn it off when performing with the rest of mamamoo... a crazy talent all four of them have, as they each (usually) manage to fade into the background as the others step up for their solo segments
some have said in the past it's crazy how well the four get along, since they're all so vastly different and also very successful solo artists, so you'd think there would be conflicts (and there are, as with any friend group. they just don't let them ruin their friendship) and jockeying for position or trying to outdo/outshine each other... but these women seriously see themselves as more than just friends, they're practically a family and all four want to see all four succeed, so they never get into the 'i'm the best one here' stuff that can be seen elsewhere (for example, the other three are *always* more hyped about byul's raps than their own segments and always either try to sing along or steal it from her in live performances)
also, byul has thanked hwasa for helping teach her to rap in the past (she also thanked solar for it)
hwasa is a huge, huge beyonce fan and that video clip used here really was the concert footage she watched while crying in the story she talked about (she's brought that story up several times in the past, the particular clip there was from her 'hwasa show' solo stage at mamamoo's four seasons f/w concert. i def suggest the mintbox upload, as that has subtitles. she also uploaded wheein's stage from the same concert, also with subs. hwasa's requires the subs, wheein's...they're good to have). she's also a big rhianna fan, too
and hwasa has gotten crap for her appearance ever since she was a kid. darker complexions like hers get associated with both 'being dirty' and 'being poor' (outdoor/manual labor) in south korea, which is beyond ridiculous, of course. so she grew up dealing with that constantly (the fact her family actually owns a farm likely didn't help but dunno). and she was actually on the plump side as a kid, as some videos of her and wheein performing together in middle school show, but even then it wasn't anywhere near the obesity you'd expect from seeing all the fat-shaming she's gotten. the one almost good thing that's come out of all this crap starting at an early age is how she's taken to using her pride in her appearance and physique as a shield to defend herself from the worst of the outlandish attacks and how that combined with her empathy and compassion got her started on the fight against ridiculous beauty standards. i hate that she's gone through this and is still going through it, as nobody deserves anything like this, least of all hyejin, and you can tell that some of it still manages to affect her (...just look at most of the songs on her solo album...) despite how strong and willful she is. but at the same time, there's honestly nobody i'd have leading that battle in the kpop industry than her... and they've already begun changing the opinions of the general korean population, who are absolutely in love with hwasa now, but there's still a long way to go, esp in both the entertainment industry and the kpop fandom in general, both of which still adhere pretty strongly to the 'pale and rail thin' standards...
all four members of mamamoo are still amazingly kind and humble despite all their popularity and that shows the most with hwasa, since the woman is pretty much everywhere... brands, magazines and tv shows are constantly lining up to have her appear for them
the 'h' and 'w' rings thing is with wheein. the two were on an episode of 'i live alone' together, going back to their old stomping grounds back home in jeonju. hwasa thought it would be great to get rings with each others initials, wheein, being her usual self with hwasa's lovey dovey suggestions, was 'that gives me the creeps' (she never means it and has shown that multiple times. she just always pretends to be annoyed when hwasa does things like it, then later goes '...but really, i love it'). in this case, the 'you don't want people to see it?' when hwasa suggested inscriptions on the inside was wheein's way of saying '...but really, i love it'
the clip with hwasa wearing a hamburger hat is from an episode of 'idol radio' that had mamamoo both as the hosts and the guests. the show was pretty much pure chaos and even went half an hour over time, but the staff were enjoying it so much they let it happen. there's a video that highlights some of the funniest parts of the hour and a half long show titled 'why mamamoo should stop hosting their own shows'
and that 'i would take my shirt off for a fan' bit is pretty much her saying 'i'd give a fan the shirt off my back if they needed it'. i feel the translator didn't really know that saying so translated what hwasa said more directly, if that makes sense
oh, and hwasa definitely has her own moments of crackheadery (esp when she's paired with wheein) but she is, by far, the most chill of the four. in fact, she's often so chill (wanting to either just eat or nap when in the waiting rooms at music shows and such) that she often doesn't get a lot of screen time in various mmmtv episodes... not for the lack of trying on the camerawoman's part, just, what hwasa is up to isn't always entertaining so often gets left out. that said, as soon as hwasa is in a goofy mood, the camera never leaves her to take full advantage of the fact it's happening
and that bit at the end, with the members roasting hwasa while using voice changers, that's part of a video called 'mamamoo silhouette talk truth game' that they did at one of their fan meetings, each member went onstage and asked the other 3 questions that basically let them share their annoyances and such. it was really funny, esp how after they all roasted hwasa they started in on how kind and loving she is. they didn't do that for the other three, just left it at the roasting
...last up, and this one feels like it should have been mentioned much earlier, not just for this video or the purplehawk stuff in general but... a lot of the subtitled videos you'll find starting in 2018 will color code what the members are saying so you can easily see who says what if you know the code. it's based on the colors of their associated albums in the four seasons project, since each of the four albums was associated with a member, a color and a season. yellow for hwasa, red for moonbyul, blue for solar, white for wheein. anyone not them tends to get the green subtitles. and prior to 2018 it was kind of an 'anything goes' thing on what color each member would get, if they got unique colors at all
also, i'm not sure if anyone's mentioned the 'moomoo bible' that is the mamamoo video index holding many of the videos translated by the fandom. there's... a lot of stuff in it, from live performances to solo or group interviews to radio shows, eating shows, tv shows to vlive appearances. if no one's shared already and you'd like, i can link it in a reply here

Hwasa is the youngest in terms of months with Wheein (April is her bday). If the two makne joined forces, the 2 unnies can't say no to anything. Hwasa is the performer on stage, but Hyejin is very loving, likes to give hugs and kisses to her members. I love her duality.

Korean netizens are sometimes just MAD embarrassing! trying to harras her by saying crap about her and even though Hwasa takes their advice they still roast her! They said she's wearing just a bra and so she took off the bra next time and then too they're mad. That's the thing about haters. no matter what you do, even if your actions are good, they'll find something to hate on about you. She didn't earn the title of Queen Hwasa for no reason. Tho after MAMA 2020 performance Mamamoo upgraded their status to GODDESSES!

Love the editorial. Rant all you want - thanks for sharing your personality and character along with a message too many people need to think about and take to heart. I think the next MMM MV you watch should be Hip, which was co-written by Hwasa. Hip refers to the controversies over their fashion choices and unconventional behavior in lyrics that combine a diss track mocking their haters with a message song that encourages people (esp young women) to do their own thing despite any criticism they might get for being unusual or out of the norm. MMM re-defines the meaning of hip, changing it from being trendy to being yourself. Malicious comments by internet trolls are a blight on kpop and the relentless sm hate has been linked to suicides by idols and Korean celebrities. Mamamoo felt compelled to address the issue but rather than simply returning hate for hate MMM countered it with their own brand of relentless positivity and released a song designed to (as they say) afflict the comfortable and comfort the afflicted. Hip was a massive hit and stayed in the weekly Melon top 10 chart longer than any other kpop song released in 2019 (13 weeks).
Btw, the Napoleon line is from the first song Hwasa wrote with MMM, I Do Me, which she recorded as a solo on their debut EP. Mamamoo doesn't have a group motto but I Do Me describes their attitude and their career perfectly.
Hwasa is by far the most laid back of the group. One of the funniest interactions I have seen with Hwasa is from Queendom when they were choosing their partners for the duet segment and Kei from Lovelyz non-stop pestered Hwasa.

And then she send an apology e-mail, well, but, she just told the CEO if she dislike to be forced to do something she dont want and she can do whatever she want. Solar and Wheein are toe to toe when it comes to being the top crackhead. Solar can be a crackhead in front of anyone and everyone whereas Wheein needs her comfort zone. However Wheein ups it a notch with her crackheadry when she's in her zone so there's no first place. Hwasa, believe it or not, takes the definite third spot. She's very much like Wheein and needs to be in her zone but she's definitely a crackhead. Moonbyul is the most reserved and sane member. She goes around hitting on girls and trolling people in and around her but you will never really find her indulging in crackheadry unless there's peer pressure from her members.
Can't believe people have said such things about her looks because to me she is a goddess. She is so beautiful, I would love to date her 😊😍
Oh you should go to MMMTV in your own time Hwasa have some crackhead energy especially with her members. People maybe intimidated by Hwasa on stage but she is a literal baby of the group.💚
