- My grandson Mason just started his own CZcams channel. I don't know if he planned to do it during LGBTQ+ pride month, but since he's gay, this month seems like the perfect time to launch it.
His CZcams channel name is @MasonStarflower

I thought you had a second grandson when I first saw Mason. The last time I remember seeing him was when you went for ice cream together and he must have been early in his diet transformation. You can tell he has worked so hard to get to the point he is now. I just subbed to Mason's channel and can't wait to watch his first video!

Hi to all of you. Steve and I are the same exact age. That is one reason I watch this channel. I am also gay, so there is another one. Mason, so glad to hear about your weight loss journey. Congratulations. That is a real accomplishment. At my age, there is really only one thing that I would have done differently. I would have started working out in a gym when I was young and kept it up all my life. I have always felt uncomfortable about my body, and that would have mad a HUGE difference, particularly as a gay man. So that is my one piece of sage wisdom I can offer to a young gay man. Ha

I have celiac disease everything I eat is gluten free, most times grain free with exception multigrain bread; I like to have a vegan or vegetarian dish for variation in my weekly meal plan. Mason looks amazing congratulations on your weight loss Mason ♥️🌈

What a sweet guy. I am vegetarian (not vegan, love cheese 2) for 40+ years (and turned 52 in April) but I also am a chain smoker for 35 years. Gonna follow Mason s channel to. Perhaps Mason has some tips to quit smoking. Actually I discovered you because of your other channel, Steve. I follow almost every graveyard channel. Love to you all from The Netherlands. Ps I always assumed you were married to a woman at one time. So great to have some background.

I just subscribed to Mason‘s channel. I’m really excited to see what energy he brings to CZcams. I’m really interested in seeing how he explains his weight loss journey. I’ve always been a plus size woman and though I’m 52 now, I’m always looking for something that just might work to help me maintain. That’s always been my biggest issue is maintaining a healthy weight. I have always fluctuated. 🤷♀️

Hello Steve and Jim!! Wow...this is incredible! It is really awesome to see your grandson branching out and pursuing his passions. Wow....I can not wait to hear his weight loss journey! For him to still be around his weight goal a year later is incredible!! Over the last couple of years, I have not been able to process the sugars as well. So, I have changed my diet, and incorporated a 10000 step plan daily. Well...I shouldn't call it a plan.....there is no plan other than knocking out 10k per day hehehe. When I'm on a work trip and have some more time freedoms, I try to knock out more.

No...I am not gay. But, I really appreciate people and appreciate nice people even more! I don't pay attention to and it doesn't matter to me if someone is gay/straight.......christian/muslim/jewish/etc.......black/white/brown......american/or elsewhere. Everybody has something to offer!

I have always found Steve that you and Mason's relationship as actual Father and Grandson was very unique. I agree, I think there is more of this out there than we realize. I love how close you are. I did not realize he had lost so much weight! That is fantastic! I am curious about his last name, Starflower? Is his Father indigenous (native) American? His dark features make me wonder, or Pacific Islander? He is a bright young man, I wish him all the best and will subscribe. I already need a reminder of what it is! I am getting forgetful! I was born in 1956, only child, lived in a town of 56 people in South Dakota. I knew I was gay about age 5. The ONLY thing knew about being gay was the occasional letter to Ann Landers- and that wasn't very often. I have been in touch with the gay grandson of a guy from my home town, a schoolmate, and we have been corresponding. He wanted to know what it was like when I was young. He just graduated high school and grew up in a metropolitan city. It's been very cathartic to relive my past much like you two are doing here- although by email. Congrats on your new enterprise!!

Here's one for you Steve, My husband Alan and I adopted two boys from Vietnam they are now 23 and 17 and were adopted at the ages of 3 months and 16 months. The older one is straight and the younger one is gay. So how did we get a gay son from Vietnam?? I mean what are the odds of that. Good luck Mason on your channel!!

Hey great video. I noticed how you two look alike and the closeness between you two. You two remind me of my mom and my daughter. They are identical in looks and there manner. My mom died in 2015 and everytime I look at my daughter I just smile❤

Hey Steve … can you mention to Jim, if you add a splash of oil to the boiling water prior to adding the pasta, it really helps with the pasta not sticking/binding together. Then you can serve it hot with what you want to add onto it.

Yes, the San Francisco Bay area is a wonderful place to visit. The Presidio is now a State Park and under the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. Its a National Historic Landmark and tourist attraction. And yes Lucas Film occupies 20 acres or so on the Presidio grounds (but no tours since I lived in Berkeley) and Skywalker Sound is located 45 minutes north of the Presidio campus at Skywalker Ranch in Marin County. And if you get bored by the City you can explore the surrounding awesome natural environment along the Coast, Pt Reyes National Seashore, the Redwoods... And if you are into healthy food visit the Ferry Plaza Farmers Mkt on Sat, Tues, or Thurs. There are other great markets throughout the City. Get Breakfast or Lunch or other delish foods there. Most farmers pick their produce early that morning or the day before so deliciously fresh from Marin County. With the culture and greater tolerance to alternative ideas, I miss those great farmers markets. I love your similar themed shirts, Steve with the traditional tie-dye and Mason with a more current tie-dyed theme. Did you plan it that way? ❤
Hi ER, thanks for missing all the great things about San Francisco, for those who haven’t been or who are planning to visit. I agree it’s a pretty awesome place. I’ve been going up almost annually since I first got my drivers license more than 50 years ago. And I used to have friends who live there just a block from Castro Street. That made it even more fun to visit. Mason told me he wanted to interview me about growing up gay in the 1960s so I thought it would be fine to wear my tie-dyed shirt lol. I didn’t know he was going to wear his too, so it was a fun, happy accident. 😄✌️
@@theretiredlifewithsteve Wow, 50 years. I'm sure you've experienced more than I did! I lived in Berkeley for 30 years, then visited Joshua Tree and noticed my asthma disappeared in the desert. So I decided to retire to the high desert and didn't need the asthma drugs. One of our favorite things to do in the Bay area was take Bart/bus to the City walk around a new neighborhood away from the tourist areas and ask a friendly local what's their fav restaurant in that area. We found some of the best hole in the wall small restaurants that way. The similar shirts show you and Mason are in sync. Thanks for responding! 🌈

Good for your grandson and his weight loss, go to the gym 6 days a week and list 70lbs on the last year or so, it's hard, especially when you're old lol, I'm no spring chicken anymore 😂
