I found something funny with Motaro vs. Johnny's Fatal Blow; If you use Motaro's Fatal Blow initiation, he can't be parried by Cage, so you get a free Fatal on someone who thought they were getting a freebie on you.
For Johnny’s fatal blow, an indicator to note that his fist has that sparkle animation similar to his shades which lets you know that the attack is now unblockable (just right after he grabs his belt during his dance). Hope this helps!
Something I find a bit odd is that Rain is actually able to cancel his forward 3 overhead into a grab, and the movelist makes absolutely ZERO mention that you’re actually able to do that. Even I didn’t know about it until I watched a few vods of Sonicfox playing the character.
Also for Geras mains when he does down back 3 to change the hourglasses to amount of sand in the top half of the hourglass indicates the number of charges. Nearly full is 1, half way is 2, nearly empty is 3.
You can extend the range of Haviks B2,2 string by pressing guard and immediately going into it. It extends the range all the way to the starting neutral position lol
Just found that out the other days super helpful plus motaro quick hit takes away Shangs super slow start up, I can only ever get people with it if they jump, and I dash back and do it while they’re in mid air and can’t block it, because it sucks them down to start it
Another good tip is that up block startup has about 6 frames of startup so it can be used in certain strings to get punishes. It also can be used on reaction (although its tight) to certain overheads to punish them. A good example is barakas neutral overhead jump move
You take more damage from a throw if you're upblocking too, so a good tech I've found using smoke is hitting forward 32 multiple times to bait the upblock and then hit them with forward 3, then throw. It's a mind game after that.
When the game came out n i first fought against a Raidan player i noticed electricity would illuminate from him when blocking but i never knew he was taking reduced damage 😭
Also some kameo characters can hit a opponent mid grab for example raidens grab with darrius kick can be used for extra damage after the initial grab ended
For whatever reason if you mash 1 while doing a fatal blow you'll do extra damage with it. The numbers vary from character to character and I think (someone correct me if I'm wrong) the person being hit by the fatal blow can also mash 1 to reduce the damage making fatal blow a mash battle.
I’m literally doing nitara combo trial now before going into practice. I have her and two other characters left in the game before I can say I’ve played every character with at the very least 10 matches online. Never done this in an nrs game before
Plus Nitara can steal health , if you do the blood bath, and then the dash and grab them and bite them, Nitara steals their opponents health. What the opponent loses, you gain back, but it has to be done quickly as it will wear off if you don’t bite the opponent within like three seconds or something.
And amplified blood bath do steal opponents health just being near by . I guess this skill is the reason she got the lowest HP in the game ... but to use it properly ... that's another story entirely. Most players just don't... u can't do it mid combo ... sovu have to buff yourself and then try to land that bf2 ... which is easy in the combo ...but opponents will be defensive cause they know what u are up to ...but if it is easy to perform ...Nitara would be number one .

Idk how many people know this but if your combo is b2(special cancelable b1 b2 b3 b4) into bf3(any bf special) you can just press b2 f3 and itll cancel into the special how its supposed to, i assume this works across the roster but i know it works for reiko and kenshi

I’ve fought 1 Nitara in pvp and that player was amazing with their mixups and combos. So I feel like she is a really good character but the skill ceiling is kinda high and people just don’t wanna play her
That’s the beauty of a good fighting game. Yea of course some characters are naturally better than others. But they are all viable if you put the time in and learn them. There isint a single character in the game that is “unusable” they can all be good if learned and I love that
also cool thing. You can keep the Kombo going after Shang's injection with a tp assist from KungLao idk if it works for Motaro. You have to spend 2 bars for ~47%
Scorpion and jax can do a 150% combo or something ludicrous because of the same fire restand move, and the unblockable hitting before they can jump. Kind of funky
I think that the first mortal kombat trailer is more related to the dlc story than the original story because we never seen the red circle in the sky and it was talking about uniting against one to fight shang. Scorpion and Sub might forgive eachother, Mileena and Kitana might go in to a masive fight but reunite after. This make sense in my head because almost nothing like shang appearing from the red thing in the sky didn't make sense because it did not happen. Liu kang looked like he knew this was going to happen. Who agrees with me❤ I guess you can say they changed the story last moment

Nitara doesn't escape for free, cancel a string into air dash costs bar, that means you can not do combo breaker after that... It would be better than those cancels to be safe on block like most of the overheads in the game like baraka or johny
Nitara and shao are underrated they both at least the top of a A maybe bottom S depending on how many others you have in S class I think they’ll both go up once pros play them more just like rain did
No, they won't. They are okay, but they will never be in the same class as the current top tiers without balance changes. Top players have already played these characters. They can probably make top 8s but not win. Their weakness is they are just too slow.
Shao is def not S tf. He is bottom 5. He's too slow and doesn't have that crazy damage. Horrible projectile, mostly unsafe mixups, axe slam is slow and really not a good mid.
Onne thing I hated about fighting Scorpion users online in MK 11 was that I began to notice a pattern: 99% of all Scorpion users in MK 11 use THE EXACT SAME STRATEGY! It's not hard to see that, unless you're an absolute on fire pro player, there is only one good way to use Scorpion, and literally almost everyone who mains him uses it. The same combos, used in the same rotative order... you fight one Scorpion user, you may have well fought them all. The only difference from player to player is the timing and how good they are at executing these combos, which is really the only thing that made many Scorpion mains challenging. Overall, annoying as fuck, though.

There is a screen freeze into cutscene to make them reactable in neutral. In mk11 a lot of them were unreactable in neutral so it was really aids to try and do anything when people were under %30 To answer your question you only need to be holding block after the screen freeze ends and the attack hits. It's easiest to start holding block as soon as you see the screen freeze+cutscene play. Be wary certain fatals still hit overhead/low/unblockable so you still need to properly defend. Smoke hits overhead. Ashtah hits overhead. Johnny is unblockable when full charged. (Reiko is a grab or air grab, basically jump or dont its a read) Im probably missing some buts those are the ones I immediately remember as being tricky
I know Raiden is OP and all, and he's my second main, but Smoke is mad OP. I can easily get 40% with him with no meter, that's insane. And the kombo is extremely easy, that's busted

I use geras and goro and feel like i die so fast with 900 health. It sucks because goro isnt even good enough to justify losing health on geras. This is also coming from a shao player who uses jax with 1200 health so i may just be biased
Ive found sub zero to work really well with geras, his +50hp puts him back to 1000, and the freeze always lets you make and extra clock and continue comboing. Also the projectile armor really helps with his weakish mid-fullscreen game

Reiko’s damage is completely situational to ever pull off multiple times consistently in a match given resource management and the fact that the opponent needs to be up blocking for the ex command grab to even get there. If we are talking about the highest damage in the game, mileena takes that title with scorpion as kameo partner

If you do triple skull with shang tsung Then do motaro teleport. You can get a full combo.

In any fatal blow, hitting face buttons during impacts of attacks increases the damage. Spamming the buttons does work too.
I might be wrong but I think Motaro's teleport allows Nitar a combo after a armored wake up with her blood spit.
It does the scaling is really bad though

Smoke can be pretty predictable though and has a lot of unsafe moves. He's A tier but not OP.
