I love fish as well. Catching and eating. I was raised on deep fried "CRAPPIE". My dad was an expert on catching, cleaning and cooking them. Best days of my life until got married and our 2 beautiful daughters. And now our first angel of a granddaughter. Life is great!

Add a teaspoon of sunflower or peanut butter with some chili crisps. Simmer for a bit. I know you can't usually simmer with that setup, but the closer you can get the better.
Mav, I suggest using Ghee in the winter time as olive oil tends to freeze. It’s shelf stable a lot longer than butter would be. It would be slightly easier than trying to squeeze out frozen oil as you would be able to just cut pieces.
Hospital parking lots are usually a pretty good place to sleep!!

As someone who’s lived in Texas all my life I was always amazed seeing you ice fish and see the lakes with snow and such.
Now going into my second winter here in the Midwest and you’re entirely right. This time last year the area I’m in was pushing -10 down to -20’s. It was in the 50’s not too long ago! It’s ridiculous. Going to have our first 10 to 0 days next week and I’m so not ready for it haha. Looking forward to kickin by the heater and watching all the videos I missed in 2023.

That brown trout is HUGE!
This is definitely the most bizarre winter of all time. Here in Park Rapids, guys were taking their boats and even the jet skis out on the lakes! Too funny! This is one for the records!

Ive watched your videos for months. Ive always thought to myself how INSANE you were for doing this with no strap.. i guess today was the first time i noticed it. Based.
Diesel Heater: I drive semi and if the heater hasn’t been ran in a while, I usually start it and put the temp as high as it goes so the fan will kick on hard. Sometimes the dust that builds up will cause it to throw an error, but the fan can blow it away most times. It’s good to start it once a month to keep it fresh, but I’m sure you are busy. Maybe try this trick though.

Hey Mav, I’ve got a really good Recipe for you to try.
. 1 large ripe mango peeled and diced
• 1 red bell pepper diced
• 1 medium Roma tomato diced
• ½ small white onion finely chopped
• 1 medium avocado or ½ large avocado diced
• 1 jalapeño seeded and finely chopped, substitute serrano or red finger chile
• 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh cilantro
• Zest and juice 1 lime plus more as needed
• 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oi
• kosher salt and freshly-cracked black pepper to taste
I like snapper and grouper but you can use whatever you’d like.
• 1 teaspoon onion powder
• 1 teaspoon garlic powder
• 1 teaspoon paprika
• 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
• 1 teaspoon dry oregano
• ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper plus more as desired
• ½ teaspoon kosher salt
• ¼ teaspoon freshly-cracked black pepper
• 26- ounce red snapper filets sliced into 2 equal pieces, lengthwise
• 2 tablespoons avocado oil
• 2 teaspoons extra-virgin olive oil for garnish
• Lime wedges for serving
Sorry forgot to add, mango is a salsa I suggest to put it on top of your fish with a side of rice.
