First in a series of videos, showing how I restore a glue bomb, the subject for this series is a particularly bad example of an MPC 1973 Pontiac Firebird 400
Good stuff Gary, you had me scared a couple of times, like with the rear glass. I use my dremel with an end mill style bit in it . to grind off most of the hardened glue prior to trying to pry the parts apart. Cool tutorial. Thanks for sharing this.
+Rick Zinck Thanks Rick, I am a bit ham fisted when I disassemble a model ha ha ...things do get broken. Like the rear glass...I trashed that, but all is not lost I have donor glass from a 79 trans am
+Wayne Osborne Thanks Wayne, luckily I've never had one yet that I couldn't repair. I did a 1970 Johan Olds Toronado earlier this year, that was possibly the worst I've ever done so far.
+Model Car Minion Thanks Steve, I've had a bit of practice in them that's for sure, just go for whatever takes your fancy bud but make sure that it's pretty much complete so you've got a good base model to start with.
Cool idea for a video series. I have one of my old glue-bombs that I have been thinking of restoring so this will help. When you are taking them apart, do you ever try freezing the asseblies in your freezer. That sometimes helps to break the stubborn glue joints
+Transition Modeller Thanks Gary, I have heard of the Freezer method I've tried it before on stubborn glass and it didn't work for me, sometimes as is the case with this heap of crap you have to break out the Dremel!
1980 Volare is sort of like that they've Reissued it but not the 76-79 Volares although the 80 is Sauarer fenders on front Rear Body she'll was same So perhaps MPC Destroyed Earlier Annual by Altering front of Body Molds to make it
Oct. 11, 2020----Your way is one way, another is putting everything in a tub of brake fluid or something else, though I don't remember what the other thing is right now.
I've never had good results with brake fluid, tried it once and it made the plastic soft. Guys in the US use purple power or something, we can't egt that Iver here in the UK though
@@MrModelworx Model club meetings are canceled here in Reno until some time next year. However, there's at least 6 modelers who are from Sacramento and make the meetings. Next meeting we have will ask them for you. But also check IPMS, I'm sure someone from your side of the pond know of other ways.

You make it look easy Gary, the hard part for me would be to know which kits to look for. lol.
