    This is a relatively easy hike and a special place.
    Historically, the Swinomish people used this area for hunting and gathering, but after Europeans moved in, they were excluded. Now both the Washington State Parks Department and the Swinomish Indian Tribe co-own and manage this area.
    This is hopefully good protection into the future. At one point about 50 years ago there was a serious attempt to build a nuclear power plant here.
