Nice job. Well documented and compared. I would have liked to see you continue the comparison on into the interior. For instance a comparison between fit/finish, quality of switch gear, screen size, seating position/comfort. But all in all you did a real nice job sticking to the subject matter.

I traded in my X3 for the GLC 300. The ride quality in the GLC is much better. More luxurious, more quiet, and absorbs road imperfections better than the X3. My X3 suffered a lot of interior rattling noises.

Infotainment, Safety , Standard vs optional Features, Test Drive...These are categories I would have liked to have seen in the comparison of these 2 remarkably similar vehicles. I test drove a GLC recently and plan to test drive the BMW X3 as I am in the market for a new car this Fall 2020. Excellent review/comparision of BOTH vehicles. I have seen sooooo many reviews as of late and yours really stood out. As I am a visual person, I appreciated the side-by-side charts with data. The visual pictorials and definitions of drag coefficient, tow capacity, etc., helped me to understand the terms. I also highly appreciate how you explained the feature and tied it in with what it means to me as a driver/owner of the vehicle, instead of just listing the feature. I have subscribed and hope that you continue with such GREAT, QUALITY and consumer conscientious reviews.

Thanks for a comprehensive, fact based review with good supporting charts to clearly illustrate the differences in the specs of these two SUVs. Personally, I prefer the cockpit and styling of the GLC 300 but for a mid sized SUV, the additional towing capacity and the material difference in cargo space with the X3 make it the preferred option for my needs. If you like Mercedes and are willing to sacrifice a bit on cargo space and towing, the C300 wagon is a potential GLC alternative for luxury, performance oriented driving experience with reasonable cargo capacity, especially since BMW dropped the 3 series wagon in North America.

What did you decide?
Outstanding review. Own a 2019 X3 and test drove GLC. I believe these are the best SUVs in their class. Might be personal preference. BMW is better driving, more space and greater tech safety features. MB is better looking, smooth drive and luxurious vehicle. Depends on preference. I consider a vehicle for driving and safety, but luxury is nice. You can’t go wrong with either choice.

I like the x3 interior esp with virtual cockpit in 2020 but I like the exterior of glc esp the diamond grill
Great comparison. Recently test drove both and others in the class. They had the most comfortable seats. Other things to consider is technology. MB has both android and Apple play while BMW has only Apple. Also the BMW doesnt have the wireless charging. BMW has a feature that can ventilate the cabin at certain intervals so people in hot climate can have their cars reduce their temperature.
Both very good choices. Comes down to personal preferences on the minor areas that will be important to the individual and their lifestyle and needs.

Thanks this video presents amazing information. I am deciding between the two cars for my next vehicle. I did find the BMW has better exterior lighting offered. The Mercedes looks great with the new look and the inside seems more spacious the way the dash is designed and the shifter is on the steering wheel freeing some space in the middle console area. The BMW front cabin seems a bit more busy with the center console taking up some space. I like the drive a bit better on the BMW a little more hugging the road. The cargo area seamed pretty good on both vehicles I didn't notice much of a difference visually speaking.

Cool review. Given that these will probably be family cars, it would be nice to address how each fits a car seat. Including how wide the doors open to get children in and out. It would also be good to include ride quality.

Regarding the base price of the two vehicles, you stated that BMW includes the destination fee. For Mercedes, it's an additional 900+. That would bump up the GLC's price. Where is the section about the interior?

very good review ! I'm BMW fan but as importing to the country they cut off so many functions of intelligence safety such as Blind spot , 360 camera and even the seat color is so limited and not able to choose ( I like cognac interior that goes well on blue) which is really disappointing. For the luxury car price and those functions are not with it , it is something really need to considering about if i should throw money for it or not...
I took my best friend, another long time Benz customer for a drive and he is converting also.

I bought the BMW X3 30i GO 1 back in 2018. It’s the M Sport Sophisto Grey metalic. I love this car. Built quality awesome. Engine awesome. (185 kw of power). Gear box awesome. Well bone Bmw for such a great vehicle.

I bought a 2020 GLC 300 4matic (blk/blk) and I love it! Only complaints: Carpeted cargo space vs a removable mat - you cannot remove the carpet and shake it out, infotainment system is awesome but a little buggy and takes a couple of minutes to recognize my phone every. Single. Time. Ugh. If you spend 50k+ on a car, The seat should come ventilated as a given. That’s an extra cost - which was not included. Perks: too many to list - The pano roof and the parking package are 100% worth their costs. The car may not be a sports car but it is fast and gets the job done, that’s for sure! Loving my new ride!!!

The X3 has wayyy more space but still the drag coefficient of the bmw is still better

We actually need to be able to load cargo in and out of our SUV. Matters like load in height, tie down options, cargo area night lighting, and over the bumper scratch protection, are all important factors. I wish they weren’t totally ignored. This isn’t a car after all.

a clear review but why an X3 and a GLC in the two wheel drive version and not a four wheel drive. Standard maintenance costs such as changing tires, the exhaust pipe oil and other fluids. These interval figures are important when choosing a car.
I did pick, and purchase. BMW was the winner for me!

I’m debating between these two now. Such a tough choice.
I leased both of them before. It really is a tough choice. I like the drive better on the glc better. Even thou the bmw drives great. I like the cargo space and the infotainment system better on the bmw.

I am currently deciding on a new car. Own a 2013 GLK 250 blurted which has been a great car - I juts feel that Mercedes abuses customers’ wallets on service and repairs. Am looking at the Porsche Macan tomorrow but I think the X3 and the GLC 300 are roomier, have better control features and look nicer.
IF you think MB is "expensive" for service wait till you buy a Porsche!.....they are insanely expensive!!!
Safety features? The fact that most safety features are standard on other car brands, and here you have to pay for it (lane-keeping assist, front collision assist etc).
I ended up buying the GLC because it supports Android Auto. Google maps is super important to me.

These two cars are same for all practical purpose, while Mercedes is unnecessarily expensive to buy and maintain

@@paulevans240 if you watch the videos relating to servicing ( quite clear and distinct videos are avl on the internet you can do it yourself and buy spares from outside, it is much cheaper to maintain than Mercedes
@@siddhartharay1835 I do not think so…not at all! I both of my Mercedes’ serviced at AAA for reasonable prices. However, I have never seen any proof that BMW ‘cost less’ to maintain than Mercedes.

For power and style and luxury Mercedes wins 100%. Most people aren't going to notice or miss the differences you pointed out

I bought 2019 X3 so far so good having Fun /Safe to drive I feel like I’m driving a Sports Sedan but actually a Midsize crossover love it . The only thing that I don’t like is the Start/Stop button but the rest was hmmmmmm
