i take Q first usually because its good utility and poke.
if someones ganking relativly early it can stop that and waste time for the jungler who tried.
it also gies you stacks for mana flow, like you said and it lets you control when the enemy can poke.

It is good in some situations but it is not a must have item, like on brand or zyra because when you decide to go all in neither you or the enemy can move. Hope it helps

@@OliverJacobsen777 yea i think it works this way too I am annoyed when he says that because it shows that he doesn't know how to build malza and still proclaims that I am griefing "omg every diamond + player builds relays second or third why you don't do it", I mean everybody can look up a build online right? but not everybody can tailor a build for specific opponents, and that's the point of playing midlane a lot of times

@@steventomek4236 it is because some seasons ago it was a core item, but so many new items has arrived that now it has become a situationel item in My opinion. But it is still core item for rumble brand zyra swain and some few more as second or third item depending on matchup 👍 but shadow flame is a giga item, liandrys is giga and blackfire torch/ludensgunblade/malignance is All 3 insane items made for all 3 types of mages where before you only really had the choice between liandry or ludens echo. But with the removal of mythic items the power of items and build path became very diffrent. Blackfire torch for combat mages, ludensgunblade for long range slow cd mages and malignance for assasin mages. Before you only had 2 options but one or the other would remove a whole item from you buylist if you know what I mean
