• ALVIN LEE - The Bluest...
I do not own the rights to this song. No copyright infringement was intended in my reaction video - Hudba
I’d like to react to I’m Going Home, if anyone knows of a good version for me to check out. I’ve heard that Woodstock is best and I can check it out on my own, but Woodstock reaction videos usually get blocked by CZcams so I need a different live performance.
Got a good one for you. I don't know how to do the fancy stuff so I'll just tell you. Put in I'm Going Home Ten Years After and go to the thumbnail that says Stefan Arnblom Ten Years After (Alvin Lee) Going Home (HQ Best Live Ever(. It's from The Marquee Club in London from 1983. It's a reunion show so same band as Woodstock, same Guitar for Alvin, but only 400 people instead of 400,000. And no watermelon at the end, just credits.
@@bobschenkel7921 That version is not nearly as good as the Woodstock version though.
@@mor4725 True, true, true. But at least it is available. Do you have a better one that is available? Please advise. I'm sure Mr. reCAP would use it.
@@bobschenkel7921 There is one Woodstock video with this full song on YT. Other reactors still have their reaction up for 9 months to a year, so could just take the gamble. Or otherwise the audio only from the single version, that is a decent version aswel.
Ok I’ll try to do the Woodstock version. It’s just such a waste of time if it gets blocked.
For anyone still reading this - The first guitar solo (slide) is played by GEORGE HARRISON.
THANK-YOU!! Only a simple freakin MASTERPIECE! I can't do these "reaction" videos anymore.
@@optimystic1282 Keep listening though! There are so many songs from unknown bands and then there are so many songs from known bands that are unknown. It's a very fun and exciting journey. As an example try this one - Blues from Poland!! Tadeusz Nalepa czcams.com/video/bsYV5UnLg6Q/video.html
Then there is Snowy White - czcams.com/video/ewjw3wlVttQ/video.html
and Chris Rea - czcams.com/video/OcW-BSEB3ng/video.html
Just a few suggestions but KEEP LISTENING!!!
@@joeking6763 Wow, you weren't kidding! Thanks for the recommendations.
The reason the song works so well is the contrast between the silky smooth sadness and melancholy of George's first solo (and the acoustic plucking under the verses), and the unrestrained agony, pain, heartache and devastation that comes through in the second solo/outro. George plucks at your heartstrings and sets you up for a tearjerker, then Alvin dives in from the opening note and just tears his heart open to pour it out on the stage.
There are plenty of shredders in this day and age, but none who can play with the emotion of the greats of my era (yeah, I wear the boomer label proudly)
Alvin Lee and his band Ten Years After had one of the most famous performances at Woodstock. His version of "I'm Going Home" is about twelve minutes of total shredding, with great split-screen camera work, and at the end he walks off stage with a huge watermelon. Needs to be seen to be appreciated. You will enjoy it, I guarantee it. Alvin is a blues master.
I have had times when I have played this song every day for weeks on end! This song is a masterpiece!
What an absolutely brilliant song.
I knew about Alvin Lee from his Ten Years After days, but not much about after that. This has to be one of the best blues songs ever.
I know that a lot of people confuse Alvin Lee with Albert Lee and Arthur Lee. Both quite famous in their own right of course.
Anyway, many thanks for this reaction. I'm going to listen to this song a lot. I know that!
A brilliant reaction, I'm really, really pleased that you enjoyed it.
Incidentally, the first guitar solo (the slide guitar) was played by George Harrison. And of course the second one was by Alvin.
Thanks once again for reacting to this one. Fantastic music!!
Regards from England and take care. 😊😎🎸🇺🇦
Thanks for letting me know that was George Harrison!
Here, I think, is the most emotional solo George Harrison has played.
And how wonderfully Alvin continued it at the end.
Glad to see that you pointed that out…I am usually the one to alert folks to that fact…and yes, it’s definitely the best that I’ve heard George Harrison play! Alvin just tears it up on this song…it’s among his very best IMHO…so fine!
Great reaction, a man that understands music.
the intro needs a mention too. nothing but taste here. thanks for featuring this great musician.
... the first guitar solo was George Harrison (Beatles). The second was Mr. Lee.
Thanks for clarifying!
Thanks for doing this one. As mentioned in another comment, Alvin Lee was part of the band Ten Years After. If you enjoy blues, and a great solo, I can really recommend Help Me (Live at the Marquee): czcams.com/video/A19OMJ1Q9iU/video.html
Alvin is great to watch when he plays live.
You sir know your stuff
Alvin Lee and Leslie West were my first guitar hero's. Check out his version of the Beatles song "I want You (she so heavy also)...and also done with Harrison. Love watching music lovers get turn on to new tunes.
Awesome. He was one of the best.
Great reaction.
Thank you!
This is one of the GREATEST blues jams EVER!
Try some Gary Moore if you haven’t… new subscriber here.
You'll find that I've reacted to quite a bit from Gary since the start of this channel. I'll give you a couple links here...

Best off the best
The fact you know not a thing about Alvin Lee says it all . What are you 25 or29 and you like the blues. WHERE you been ?
I’m 47. Wasn’t much into the blues until now.
The first solo is by George Harrison.
Yeah! I had no idea. Very cool though
Solo was by George Harrison
Nice!
First solo George Harrison second solo Alvin Lee ❤
Check out
one of these days!!!!🤯🥊
Great blues guitarist with Ten Years After. I have all of their catalog. If you do another one of his it's got to be I'm Going Home from Woodstock. Another one I've mentioned before is Roy Buchanan. For a slow blues tune check Roy doing Roy's Bluz at Austin City Limits from the 70's. He has a very unique style and tone. czcams.com/video/DDOIL5OqvYs/video.html
I actually still have your original request for Roy Buchanan. Apologies that it got lost in the shuffle but I hope to get to it soon.
Thanks. Did you get my email with the other requests?
Beautiful song.
Agreed
Now dial up some 'Ten Years After' doing 'Think About The Times' or for a contrast, 'Boogie all day'. Also check out some 'Savoy Brown'.
wasn't a SRV solo? you spoke too soon. lol.
