This is...sorta retconned. According to current lore, some Mark IV was equipped with prototypes of energy shield generators. These prototypes were being developed independently of the core MJOLNIR program, unbeknownst to Halsey. For example, Jorge's Grenadier helmet design is derived from a Mark IV variant which included early energy shield tech. This description is in either MCC or Infinite. I can't remember which. However, it is not clarified which Mark IV equipment could be equipped with early e.s. tech and when the earliest tech was available for use. If the earliest tech was available *after* the battle of Arcadia, then Red Team wouldn't have energy shields in Halo Wars 1. In HW2, energy shield generators could have been one of the new technologies the Spirit of Fire was capable of manufacturing. Though it probably couldn't manufacture a new Shaw-Fujikawa translight engine even if it had the data and materials.

Having Red Team team up with Blue Team would be awesome, and then have like an insane trio fight with Arbie, John and Jerome fighting side by side against Atriox and something along the lines of Pavium and Voridus along with a horde of Banished forces while the Arbiter and the two Spartans cut through with either Mjolnir mix or genesong playing in the background.
I wouldnt say they singlehandedly did it lol You have to remember they angered the entire ark by blasting a hole into it and the sentinels literally kamikazed the ship in half
The drones wouldn't have done that without Isabel provoking them though. I think of it like a knight using a sword to kill someone. The knight still killed the person, even though they used a sword.
Can we all take a moment to appreciate the Halo Wars soundtrack? The game was developed entirely separate from Bungie, yet the composers managed to come up with something that not only beautifully, but seamlessly fit into the series.
I really hope the new spin off game has Jerome as the playable character. Perfect way to introduce him to majority of the fan base to then have him be the main character of the franchise going forward. Chiefs getting old and there’s only so much of his story that can be told sadly.
Jerome has been my favorite spartan for a long time, he's got the badass factor to him like Chief but for some reason he always seemed more like what I imagined spartans to be like when I was growing up. I love that they've been expanding on his character ever since Halo Wars 1.
I love Chief and his story, but putting another name or call sign behind the visor opens so many new doors for this universe. Let the Master Chief rest. Refresh the universe by exploring the story of equally amazing Spartans or even the ones that may have struggled with what that mantle demanded from them. They touch ever so slightly on these stories as side characters or in the novels but they are scared to take a full step off the cliff. I understand why they hesitate to let go of Chief after what happened when they tried introducing Lock. The reason Lock didn’t work as a way to pass the torch, was because they tried to bill lock as Chiefs equal. As a brand new character, Lock didn’t earn that position in the eyes of fans. If they billed the new guy as “the new guy” and took a less overtly antagonistic approach, like they did with the Pilot from infinity, and built them up over the coarse of the game, it would have worked better.
I think this is a cool possibility with halo infinite. The spirit of fire finds a way to Installation 07 then they see pieces of the infinity ship that say unsc & see newer pelicans & then captain Carter calls out for survivors then he hears master chief speak then this would be how masters chief gets off installation 07, but to continue, they use the scraps of the infinity to upgrade the spirit of fire, then gather survivors form the infinity.
He said we actually considered a failure to the project which is crazy that he adapted so well honestly if they wanted a “emotional Spartan” they should’ve done Jerome for the halo show as escaping and breaking from the mold was Jerome’s specialty in his early years instead of character assassinating my bot The Chief
I always imagine if there was just a poor kid that had no parents but genetically fit for the Spartan program and was kidnapped Jerome's profile kind of matches that idea I had except he still had a family though probably may have been dysfunctional not get anyway since that is the sad reality of poor families especially since he was already in a gang.
Master chief is our protagonist, the best but that doesn’t mean there’s not other great, amazing, talented Spartans besides him or out there in space keeping humans safe
