Really enjoyed watching you Nina ( as usual). Loved the bird sitting on the teacup. I am in admiration of you and other crafter's how you are so organised and draw everything together so well whilst chatting, filming, etc. I often think when I'm crafting, good job no one is watching me, dropping papers, getting very sticky, and becoming irritated with the fiddly bits!! Hi Nina, I was so pleased you utilised both by cutting the tea pot n cups in half (why did I doubt it). Love those 2 pages, all of the pages are beautiful, I can see that your journal is going to be absolutely superb. The pages in Daphne's Diary are all so colourful and pretty. What a wonderful few pages in your DD journal Nina, I love them all. I really loved the use of a text page foe background, I should have thought of it since I use pieces of text in my collages all the time. I hope he house renovation is speedy and all you hoped for, have a beautiful day!

Good morning Lena. I think this journal is off to a good start and it was certainly a fun process. The house is still in chaos because there is stuff being stored everywhere. Beautiful Daphne’s journal all the pages are lovely and the teacup & teapot where my favorite along with the girl, it’s awesome how you use the pages from the magazine to complete your journal the colors are so vibrant. I have some of the magazines but find it so hard to cut into them. Thanks for sharing 🥳💕

All the pages turned out absolutely beautiful! I never heard of Daphne's Diary before. But after some more research I immediately subscribed :-) I am looking forward to use the nice pages of the magazine in my junk journaling. I just hope all of the magazines arrive. New subscriber…thank you for the inspiration! I am happy to see what you did with the tea pot poster page. And I’m now thinking of using elastic on my Daphne journals instead of sewing them in. Maybe 3 mm elastics? So wonderful to repurpose these beautiful magazines! I also love to repurpose my Somerset Studio art magazines also. I cannot bear to throw them away and this is a great way to use them!
Hi Pamela, I think 3mm elastic would be too thick. I used 1mm elastic in mine, but 2mm would probably ok as well. Somerset Studio is very expensive to buy here and can only be purchased from a couple of suppliers or from Somerset Studio direct, although p&p is more than the cost of the magazine when ordering direct. I only buy it occasionally, but funnily enough have just ordered the Summer issue which should be here soon. It is a beautiful magazine I agree 💕

Question...I just started making my own journals. I've watched a bunch of your videos, but I don't remember how TIGHT you make the elastic bands. Do you just wrap them or make them tight? And, do you use thinner or thicker elastic? I found both at Hobby Lobby. Thank you! ❤️
Thank you Patti. I use 1mm elastic and just wrap it around the spine with a very slight taughtness. You want enough flexibility for the signatures to expand 💕
Hi Nina. I love your work…been watching you for a couple of years now…and am now considering doing junk journals, so am very excited to watch this series. In particular, I’m looking for your video on creating the pages/signatures for this journal. I’m wanting to watch that video in particular, because I have much patterned paper and would like to see how you chose yours for your journal. However, i can’t figure out which video it is. Nina, I've seen you stitch paper before. Do you have a "dedicated" sewing machine for paper only? I'm afraid of using mine for paper because I sew fabric once in a while. Thank you for inspiring us!
Hi Isabel, I use my machine for sewing both paper and fabric and haven’t had any issues with it. However I do only use it for craft purposes. I hope that helps 💕

Hi Nina, thank you for a great video. I really love all the pages, especially the bird on the teacup. They're all really pretty though, and as usual your eye for detail is excellent, including your colour matching. As I've said before, I always look forward to your tutorials. I wish they did Daphney's Diary in the UK. I checked it out, and although the price is fantastic, the p&p from the USA is collossal. I am unable to work, so I cannot buy it.
