    Thank you so much for posting this video! I've just started playing '17 on my Switch, and your videos have been suuuper helpful. I actually used to play FS '15 on my PS3; and, incidentally, your channel played an enormous part in making that game so enjoyable. Thus, once, I saw '17 on sale in the Nintendo Switch online store, the first thing I did was hop on here to make sure that you had videos about this specific version. Anywho, this is the 2nd FarmSim game that you have helped me with, and I am genuinely grateful. When I think about the time and energy that went into researching, filming, and editing (etc.) just one of these guides, it boggles my mind! 🤯 But, seriously, thank you for creating and posting all of these, and please take care. 🤙

    See in the tutorial they teach you how to bale hay and how to pick it up and how you go about doing it. I understood that you get straw and chaff from harvesting things but I never understood where grass or straw comes from. The only thing I understood was that there were grass seeds that your planter has but now after watching this video I understand it completely. I went through about 10 videos just trying to get this answer right here. Thank you for the awesome vid bro

    If you have GPS use that while baling. That way you don't need to watch it all the time to keep your bales in a straight line. Also, if baling in a grass paddock, you can set GPS to stop the tractor almost right on the end of the field.

    Aloha Arthur. I'm enjoying immensely your tutorials. I haven't seen them all yet but I have a problem that needs some of your time. I am using a favorit 511 C for the tractor. the seeder is an an Amazon D 830 super. The field is has not been plowed but it's been fertilized. I can't get any help her out of the menu all from 2 different things that I tried even though it has a helper in the menu when I click on it, says that that helper has finished and it just goes through the helper A or B or C have finished their task and no other helpers are available. I am playing on a PC with a mouse. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you again for all the time you have spent on these tutorials, it's amazing.

    Awesome, thanks. What do you think about the Krone Ultima wrapper/baler? I love it but it keeps crashing my game where the game won't load. I have to load game without mod...then buy it again. I found a square version of the same krone, but the bale size it odd and my tractor won't pick it up. Plus when I walk up to the silage bale it says it's grass.

    • @Vbluguitar

  • @neilharbott8394

    I tend to prefer the "follow-me" mod when doing round bales. The follow-me helper will unload the round baler automatically, whilst taking care of all that stopping and starting. I'll either drive the windrower or mowing unit, as it takes less concentration and I can watch an Arthur CZcams vid at the same time!!

    • @Vbluguitar
      @Vbluguitar  Před 6 lety +1

  • @radrickdavis
    @radrickdavis Před 3 lety

    Do I need a telehandler to grab bales with a fork? Which cheap equipment will work for manual moving of bales to and from a flat trailer? Easiest front loaders to use on bales?

    • @Vbluguitar
      @Vbluguitar  Před 3 lety

      I would just use a tractor with arms, a bale fork, and a weight. If you want to grab more than one bale at a time there are some good mod forks that can pick up 2 or 3 at a time.

  • @grindingeveryday3091
    @grindingeveryday3091 Před 6 lety

    Can u just drop off bales where food goes for animals or do u have to use loading wagon or power food mixer to feed them?

    • @Vbluguitar
      @Vbluguitar  Před 6 lety +2

      You can drop bales off BUT, the cows also need power food (1 silage bale + 2 hay + 1 straw OR 2 Silage bales + 1 hay + 1 straw) so you have to have a mixer if you want your cows to be more than 70 percent productive. You will also give them straw bales and grass bales and hay bales separately, but you need to give them the mix too.

    • @neilharbott8394
      @neilharbott8394 Před 6 lety

      If you drive a front loader with a bale - the bale will autofill the feeding area when you hit the unload point.

      Yes. Both round and square bales are 4000 liters, so they make the same money. Another strategy would be to sell them at the BGA - its slower, but you get free digestate which can be used for fertilizer.

    • @Vbluguitar

      Nope, they stay grass. Straw is leftover from crops like wheat and barely. Grass is grass and dried grass is hay. In real life a grass bale would eventually catch fire, believe it or not, because of the rotting process.

      even more info - IRL - small square bales (like heston bales that you pick up by hand) are about the same cost as round bales to make, or cheaper and are easier to manage since they can be moved by hand. The new version of FS finally supports this and has small bales in it. Also there are some companies out there that make mini round bales for little (25-75 hp) tractors.

    If u start your farm by selling silage bales witch i recommend if u play on easy or normal. Then there is a mod to speed up the wrapping machine. Yeah u might think it´s cheating but it takes nearly 24 sec/bale it may not sound so bad at first but after u done it for 2 harvest u get sick of waiting for it. U can use a mod for it or u can change a specific number in 1 xml file that say how long the wrapping process will take. Standard value is set to 20 = 20 sec the bale is spinning. lowering this number will speed up the spinning and will go mutch faster. WARNING. If u change this value u can not play multiplayer unless u change it back to the standard value off 20. Just change the number back and u are fine.

      I watch another video and found out that the price for straw and grass / hay bales is always the same but the price for silage bales is much higher at 5,880 on easy on the xbox so take the time to wrap the hay and unless you have that dlc pack you'll have to go with the round bales

      Yeah, the only reason I don't wrap bales is if I need it for the cows or I am making straw (which you can't wrap). Straw and Hay are paid per liter, so bales get you the same money as loose material, and round and square bales give you the same amount of money since they are both 4000 liters.

      There is a LOT to it. But that also makes it fun because there are so many directions you can take it.

    One thing about round bales in real life. Say you're feeding sheep or cattle in a paddock. You can drop a round bale off a truck, cut it open and just roll it out like a rug.
