That beat is forever. Can't believe this wasn't a big song for them like their previous songs. 2003 was Neptunes in their prime. Maybe some different lyrics to that infectious beat may have changed things....
I think it had more to do with the era of the R&B girl group being over by that point. It started with En Vogue in the early 90s and ended with Destiny’s Child in the 2000s. Remember 2003 was the year solo Beyoncé debuted and dominated the music world
nauticadon I literally said Pharrell is the one that does the *vocal production* and *songwriting* for artists, then you say it’s false but then repeat what I said ? Loool. Also I never said Pharrell & Chad doesn’t work together on the beatmaking side, I was specifically speaking on the songwriting & vocal production side. Plus Chad already highlighted their roles in a 2003 documentary, he said Pharrell comes up with the vision and Chad fills in the gaps and is essentially like Pharrell’s band, go look it up on CZcams. Also I already know Chad is the one that was doing the bridges. Let me know what was false about my original statement, since your immediate reaction was “that’s false”
nauticadon Pharrell produced and wrote his In My Mind Album all by himself, Chad wasn’t involved with that. All you have to do is read the credits. Also outside of automatically getting writing credits due to being the producer. Name the songs Chad has actually written. Meaning lyrics. Every artist that Neptunes worked with said Pharrell did the actual writing, the justified sessions show Pharrell did the writing and JT confirmed that, Britney said Pharrell did the writing, Nelly said Pharrell wrote the hook for Hot in here, Nore confirmed Pharrell wrote the hook for Nothin, all of these artists that they produced for have said Pharrell did the writing. Chad got automatic writing credits due to being a producer but what song lyrics did he actually write ? When BMI announced that Neptunes got inducted into the songwriters hall of fame, read the article, it specifically kept saying Pharrell wrote this, Pharrell wrote that. Pharrell wrote You Don’t Have to call for Usher, Pharrell wrote the songs that Neptunes produced on Justified and then JT added onto it (and there’s hour long videos of each session on CZcams for you to see)
@@user-qd6im2hp2e 🤦🏽♂️ since I actually know a good amount of people that they run with/have run with: Yes, Pharrell did about 95% of the writing. Yes, most of the time, he came up with the direction(s) of the songs. HOWEVER, there were many times outside of the bridges where Mr. Charles Hugo actually composed entire arrangements by himself as did Pharrell. Hell Hath No Fury by Clipse was mostly done 50/50 with some combos in between. “Ma I Don’t Love Her”? Chad. Good Girl Vanessa Marquez? Chad with Pharrell’s drum programming Hell, Justified was what it was because of CHAD. Nothin Else is Chad!! All that NERD stuff? Brainwork of Chad..like dude this entire comment you typed out is not only full of minor inaccuracies but also bold ones. I am a huge fan of them both as they are both geniuses, but to say that Chad’s role was minimalistic is highly ignorant..Chad taught Pharrell how to play piano as well…please delete this nonsense. Be well! 🖖🏼

More to selling music than beats and lyrics...

Nice
See Pharrell is the main person that does the songwriting/vocal production for the artists, he just gives Chad writing credits because that’s his boy.

nauticadon in your first statement you literally said “all the chord progressions was Chad. The *songwriting* and *vocal production* was Pharrell”.
@@user-qd6im2hp2eI hope you understand writing credits also go to the person or people who wrote the music. It all depends on what’s agreed upon.
