If you think about it, Operation Knightfall took place at night, many of the Jede were likely asleep and or going to bed, and then suddenly, statted feeling thousands of deaths all around them as they and the rest of the Jedi around the galaxy started dying... a good portion of them likely in their sleep...
This narrative was truly amazing, point of view from Sergeant Appo was a great choice. And we even saw him in the tv show!
