Airline: Cityjet
Aircraft: Bae systems/Avro RJ85
Flight Number: WX115
Registration: EI-RJU
Seat: 12A
Filmed on: IPhone 7
Date Filmed: January 2018
Comment: An enjoyable flight on a rare aircraft type. Only a short hop but with good crew and free catering there was a decent service. Cabin is comfortable if a little outdated. Such a small aircraft yet 3-3 seating is possible!
A wonderful plane - I remember flying on one of these years ago from Gatwick to Bern
MrGreatplum they've been around some time, thanks for watching!
One of the smoothest landings I've ever seen in LCY . Top!
Only my second time flying into LCY so I don’t have much to compare it too. But yeah, it was pretty smooth!
Great review! Seems like a pretty fun ride to fly on the Jumbolino! Loved those cool look unique 4 engines! :)
isaacflyaway yeah a very much different plane to fly! Thanks for commenting.
Such an Underrated airline. Used to be a Ryanair fanboy but flew with Cityjet a few times and I love them. The fact tickets go down go even 20 euro per ticket and they manage to give you a but of drink so your throat doesnt dry up is very nice and the fact they fly into LCY instead of ex. Gatwick or stansted saves a LOT of time and money for travel, that you can use for other things. And ofc the Avro is a very unique aircraft. And the approach into City is one of those spectacular ones
Avronian_85 Yes they are certainly a great airline to fly and they stand out. Will certainly be using them again!
Very good trip report! Subscribed!!!
Thanks!
The engines were derived from the power units for the highly successful Chinook helicopter. The engines are quiet; 4 of them adds to the safety factor and they provide sufficient power for excellent stol performance.
Britt Unculus thanks for your input and subscription. Very interesting!
RJ85 is the most successful British commercial airliner; therefore I have a very soft spot for it.
Fantastic report. I have flown out of LuCY and a push back tug has been used; apparently to save apron space and allow additional aircraft onto the apron. But it was rare. Count me among your subscribers.
David Sadler Thank you for the kind compliment! Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for subscribing. I wasn't aware they even owned a push back tug so I learned something new today!
excellent trip report! I flew this route and really enjoyed it . I also published a report on my London to Dublin on the CityJet avro!
Joseph's Aviation Thank you for the compliment! It's been an aircraft i've wanting to fly for a while now and finally got the chance recently. Catch them while you can as they say. Will take a look at your trip report 👍🏻

Conor Ahearne 🤨😭🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️
Never liked the RJs as found them claustrophobic ; I would like to try the new Su100 Superjet .
I thought Bristol is closer
good morning now 02/02/2018
S-s-south Park?
Just to make something clear, those engines are not APU's, that's just a joke among pilots :p
Svt Trips I did read once that the cores of the engines were APU's! That's why I didn't put it in as actual fact haha. Thanks for watching anyhow.
