Ok
Loved the video, gave me fale sense of vertigo.😂
West Coaster @ Santa Monica Pier is friendly to POV's. What about Disneyland rides?
Jeez, stop with the negativity!
@@OriginalFluffy978 On that every clickbait in a nutshell video, a video of someone on X2 taken with someone's phone, it said "seriously, do not attempt to film on rides."
Here's a fun fact about Raging Bull: David Ellis's POV of the coaster supplied the B&M lift hill sound that _Roller Coaster Tycoon 2_ players know and love.
For anyone who is curious like I was. Immediately recognizable. czcams.com/video/ilvdwcCmHkE/video.html
Cool!
that explains why the sound in RCT always specifically reminded me of Raging Bull 😂
That's incredible!
The fact B&M has appeared in this list more times then not is an testament to the genius and talented people that work at the company throughout the decades since thier debut.
Agreed, that's why B&M have so many successes in the 90s.
B&M is definitely one of my favorites
They’ve lost a LOT of ground to RMC in recent years though.
Congratulations Nemesis on making the number one spot. I was hoping it would get into the top 10 but never expected it would come first overall. Just goes to show, you don't need height, speed or most inversions to create a world class ride.
i think what makes this awesome is i had no idea of all the challenges and hard work that went into Nemesis. If I ever make a trip to the UK one day, I'm going to need to get to Alton Towers!
As I have ridden nemesis it is really intense I saw stars coming down the helix
Nemmy getting to top spot ahead of some other monster coasters is something. Plus dude how much the 90s was the B&M Decade.
Thank you so very much for placing Nemisis at number 1 on your list of all time 1990's coasters list. You even have our very own Mr John Wardley a well deserved mention. I will be riding Nemisis again this coming Saturday as The Alton Towers Resort is my local theme park. Nemisis will be closing at the end of this season to be completely retracked ready for her 30th anniversary in 2024. Really appreciate your work and your channel.
Nemesis is flat out insane. Great to see it get the reputation it deserves
That's so cool that you were able to get Jim Cummings into your video!! Such a great voice actor who's been in so many shows and movies I've seen growing up! Of these rides I've been on Viper, Batman The Ride (the clone at Magic Mountain) and Ghost Rider. I've also always wanted to go on the Mr. Freeze coaster if I ever go to Texas or Missouri and Shivering Timbers looks awesome.
I have a plush darkwing. Let's get dangerous
Michigan's Adventure is my home park, and unfortunately, Cedar Fair doesn't care too much for it. Shivering Timbers is a great coaster, but its become so rough that I can only ride it once if I don't want to ruin my day. It desperately needs re-tracking but I doubt that'll ever happen since MA went 13 years between its last two coasters.
Mr. Freeze is one of my favorites of all time. Definitely worth a visit.
That was a lot of fun reliving my childhood. Those B&Ms were everywhere and you're right about that famous rawr. I loved hearing that as a kid.
The fact that B&M appeared on this list not 1, not 2, not 3, but 11 times just shows how the talented folks at this company can go bigger than you think.
B&M is probably why Arrow went out of business. They both did the same things, B&M just did it better.
And B&M is why Vekoma probably quit making SLCs. Every B&M suspended coaster crushes Vekomas in terms of experience.
I’d be willing to bet if he ranked the best coasters of the 80s we’d see more Arrow Dynamics.
My jaw dropped when Jim Cummings was on the screen. That’s amazing.
Nemmy is a classic! One of the greatest creations to ever have been constructed, John Wardley's incredible mind came up with an awesome experience, and is my all time #1 coaster!
I’m happy to see both BGT coasters from the time on the list because it’s my home park and both rides are definitely iconic.
That's how I feel about both of the ones at BGW being on the list too, since that's my home park
Thx for the pin!
same
Nemesis was the first inverted coaster I ever rode - I was terrified as I queued for the first time.......and after that first ride finished I proceeded to ride it a further 12 times that day!! An incredibly well designed and themed ride, and intense as hell! Was a complete game changer for me :)
nemesis inferno or nemesis sub terror
@@alexbmwfan342 Neither - the original Nemesis
Rode "Incredible Hulk" this January. All I have are 2 words: "Smaaaaasssshh" hit!
I screamed when I saw Raptor. Raptor is one of the GOAT in Cedar Point.
Facts
15:40 He forgot to mention that this is all while Aerosmith's 'Walk This Way" is blaring in your ears.
the hulk was my first "big kid" roller coaster, so to speak. i was a short kid so it took me a while to reach the ride height for any of the thrill rides. i will never, ever forget that first launch. i had always really loved theme parks, but once you ride a roller coaster there's no going back.
Finally got a chance to get my credit for Alpengeist last week and man does that thing stand the test of time. Still butter-smooth and packing some serious whip into and out of the elements.
I thought the theming and terrain-hugging layout were great, but I found it super rough, and the transitions between elements were jerky. I even made sure to ride on different parts of the train.
Fun fact if you name a guest in rollercoaster tycoon John Wardley after nemesis’ designer, the guest will only think “WOW” this references a video of him at the construction site for the coaster where he says wow
As someone who grew up going to Carowinds, I’m glad to see Top Gun on here. I can confirm it still kicks ass after all these years.
Yeah it will never be after burner to me, just like the Borg assimilator, frenzoid, scooby doo, come to think of it they only kept a few names from the start.
1. Goldrusher
2. Hurler, which I know they had to buy copywrite after cedar fairs bought them.
3. Thunder road. Demolished.
4. Cyclone.
5. Sky tower
6. Vortex.
Welp I guess they kept more then I thought 😉
Some absolute bangers here!!! Raptor is my all time favorite, it's the perfect blend of smooth and intense. Batman is really impressive for how old it is and still able to swing with the youngsters. Hulk was the first launch coaster I ever rode and I didn't even know that was a thing until it took off into that hole of light at the end of the tunnel. Suffice to say I rode it 4 times in a row, just got off and ran right back to the front, epic!
Montu and Kumba are two of my favorite coasters ever
Mine as well. I love those 2.
This is the perfect time for a Theme Park Crazy video because of what I have planned for Friday 👀
I wonder what TPC has in store for that day……
@@triplej755 Me too. I hope he sees my project as I worked pretty hard on it.
Heck yeah, man!
The 'trick track' on Shivering Timbers was the only element I didn't like on it.
It didn't stop me from riding it several times that day though. 🙂
I love GhostRider! It was my first wooden coaster that I got to ride on a school trip in middle school. Haven't been on it since it got redone but I have to at some point
although the "roughness didn't bother me that much, its still just as fun as when it opened. Night rides are the best!
@@Lloyd00 Night rides on GhostRider is my favorite. I rode it back in 2014 in the front and the "roughness" wasn't a big deal for me at all
I am not from the UK, but me and nemesis were both born in the same year and speaking of which I'm very glad this episode about the top 20 best iconic 90s roller coasters was released on my birthday. good job theme park crazy.
Happy birthday Dee!
Aw thank you so much.
I’m surprised to see Nemesis at #1!
It’s currently my favourite coaster. The helix on it is something else! I refuse to believe that it only pulls 3.5G 🤣 (according to RCDB).
Most 90s B&Ms are intense because of sustained Gs instead of peak Gs
@@iceblade019 Indeed...Nemeses is much more intense than Nemesis Inferno imo...although I've only ridden the latter 2 or 3 times as I've only been to Thorpe Park once coz I'm up North. I've not ridden Icon yet (criminal, I know) but I'm getting around to it, Nemesis is still my favourite in the UK also.
@@iitzfizz Icon is fun, but nowhere near Nemmy.
I thought oblivion would be in there being the first ever dive coaster
@@kevrichmond9981 I find Oblivion to be one of the worse adult coasters in the park. The drop is exciting, but that's it. It's over. Other coasters in the park give 90% of that first thrill multiple times. There's no contest.
So glad to see Raptor on the list! This ride was a huge surprise for me. Easily the best B&M invert I’ve ridden. I expected a Batman the Ride clone, but it was far better. BTR is still classic, of course.
I live in Florida so Disney universal and bush gardens is my life Kumba and Montu were my first big coasters and segmented my love for b&m i also just returned from universal and I freaking love it hulk is my fave fallowed by velocicoaster and Hollywood rip ride rockit I’m so glad they are on the list I will always say montu is my all time fave coaster
I remember riding Raptor that first summer. It blew my mind!
Man this is a very amazing video. Nemesis is one of the best terrain coasters of all time and one of the greatest inverted coasters of all time. I want to visit alton towers one day and go on this terrain coaster. The amount of near misses is amazing. Greetings from England
I ended up spoiling No1 for myself lol.The longer the video went on the more I thought how the hell has the Big one beaten Nemesis because I wasn't sure if Nemesis was appreciated enough outside the UK to get a deserved to 10 finished. So once the video got to the top 10 I scrolled into the comments to see people congratulating Nemesis oops. Am glad to see that Nemesis is so highly regarded outside the UK. Its a wonderful piece of engineering.
Yesss!! I still love montu!! I haven't been on it since the early 2000s!! Bush gardens Was my playground!! A ralieve said it was better (and safer) then leaving some kids to "run around the mall" ..... Pretty crazy!! I also remember riding the old Texas giant...(the old wood one from back in the 90s and possibly early 2000s?) .....i feel old lol
We waited 3 and a half hours for Batman the ride when it debuted in 1992. Totally worth the wait and we got the front row. I'll never forget that trip. It was awesome!!
I’ve never binged so many youtube videos off of a channel in my life! If it wasn’t for this channel, I wouldn’t be so interested in roller coasters. Appreciate all the effort you put into these videos. Keep it up!
this guy's content got me through the absolutely brutal summer of 2020 when everything was still on lockdown and the pandemic didn't seem like it was ever going to end
I legit thought Hulk was going to take number 1 spot. But glad to see that an invert has it too.
Ghost Rider is amazing and I used to have to talk my brother into riding it with me because he said it gave him a headache. I loved the air time and it seemed like the longest ride I've done.
while it may not be the greatest coaster from the 90's by any means, I can't think of anything more iconic in the great plains region than Mamba at Worlds of Fun, a ride I have had the pleasure of riding with Theme Park Crazy back in 2019 and have operated in the 2021 season and will once again be part of Mamba crew in the 2022 season along with Coaster McKenzie, Eric the longest tenured ride op in the park, celebrating his 25th year working at Worlds of Fun, our amazing team leads Robert and Domenick, and many of the people from 2021 Mamba crew like Olivia, Phenix, Twyla, Ben and of course my very close friend Xander.
I was BARELY tall enough to ride The Hulk in 3rd grade but I absolutely LOVED IT!! And the nostalgia deff held up when I rode it again at 21 ☺️
I love how Jim Cummings just pop us at the beginning of the video for absolutely no reason at all. If you are able to get more famous voice actors in your videos, that would be Bonkers!…
Pun intended lol.
My first ever roller coaster was Raptor at Cedar Point when I was 10
You should do this vid again with 70s and 80s coasters. I really enjoyed this one
“You can tell Disney spared no expense on this coaster.”
The voice of John Hammond that lives in the back of my head: “Spared no expense.”
Spared no expense, but he hired only one guy to run IT, selected Ford Explorers for their safari vehicles, and built a flimsy bathroom near the T-Rex enclosure. I think he spared some expense.
@@stevenstice6683 It’s almost like the fact that he didn’t know where to effectively allocate his purchasing power and didn’t fully think the island through further illustrates the character’s flaws.
I got to Busch Gardens Tampa for the first time the day before this video went up. Montu is definitely my #1 invent now. Unfortunately I found Kumba to be too rough for a re ride. Oh and although this isn't a ride covered in this video, Iron Gwazi is INSANE! It absolutely hauls through the layout attempting to throw you out of your seat. ITS AMAZING and deserves all of the hype it's getting! Not a single dead spot on it!
I was wondering how Montu didn't win this countdown. It was my favorite of the ones here.
@derekseay4020 As someone who had ridden montu in the states I can tell you it was amazing , but honestly so is nemesis , Its very different designs but both brilliant.
I literally watched this video while in the queue for Iron Gwazi. Very glad to see my home park mentioned in this video. Keep up the great videos!
hi ,i just got a tshrit form you it was green love it thx
The trick track on shivering timbers was such a thrill
These rides are epic but that intro was more epic
Super excited for Nemesis to get its retrack! Although I personally don't think it needs it just yet, I'd say Wickerman is rougher and that's still newxD
wickerman is a woodie tho, so I do expect it to have some level of roughness
I think it has the perfect amount to make it enjoyable
Dude, Wicker Man hurts bad. My wrists ached for days just trying to stay in my seat, it was terrible! I really hope other wooden coasters aren't as savage as that, or I might never ride one again...
@@Spidehman wickerman is about the smoothest woodie I've ridden.
Stampeda in portaventura is like going into a blender.
GhostRider is my utmost favorite ride ever! Thank you for putting it in 3rd place, it made me happy! It was also my first roller coaster ever! Just to say, when I went there, the line wasn't 120 minutes long, it was 4 to 5 hours long! 😅
Raptor was my first inverted coaster. And I love it!!
Awesome that you. Got the footage of the big one from Blackpool pleasure beach experience I work at the pleasure beach and she's just reopened after her re tracking and she's running better than ever and correct on sunny clear days you can see the Isle of man!
Hey Theme Park Crazy! I have watched quite a bit of your videos and they super entertaining! Keep up the great work!!
Oh I love this video so much dude. So much history and classic memories coming back.
Shame that I don't see Vortex at Canada's Wonderland. It such a fun ride especially since it goes over the artificial mountain at the park and now that Yukon Striker goes in the pond that Vortex goes over I personally find it add a cool effect
I would also love to see a video about dive coasters
I loveeeee Vortex!
Hoping to get back to Alton Towers sometime this year - and Nemesis will be on my list.
Definitely agree with the Busch Gardens roller coasters because I have ride those and they are both AMAZING!
Nice video sir! Rode a ton of these, can’t wait to clear the list 😎
Yess new video! Always a good day when you upload! I kinda have a feeling of what’s going to be on here
Great video this ranking brought back great memories of my prime teen years riding 6 of the 20.
I watch and approve all your videos that come through my subscription
Excellent all around work consistently
One of the best Wooden Coasters built in the 90's is Excalibur at Funtown Splashtown. Ithink it would be #21, but because of where it is not enough people know about it. Has one of the best night rides ever!
I used to write for a theme park website (that's still around today) so, I've been on most of these coasters. I feel like this list really represents the great coaster boom of the 90s-2000s. Was such an amazing time to be tooling around the country (USA) riding coasters! How lucky I was!
I remember riding Magnum in it's opening year and thinking "This is as good as it's ever gonna get!" How very wrong I was! The best was yet to come!
Thanks for creating this list/video. It really brings back a lot of great memories for me.
You should do a Six flags maxic mountain formers coasters video
There's literally alot of coasters removed such as
Green Lantern
The old Colossus
Psychlone
Flashback
Dejavu
Plus all the 70s - 80s coasters
Yep it’s time ThemeParkCrazy.
Space mountain was my first experience with a looping coaster and... it was painfull. it gave me a Crick in the neck thanks to all the headbanging.
Happy to see Viper at Six Flags Magic Mountain make the list! I don't think it's as rough as people make it out to be and it's still a heck of a thrill ride.
Love your videos so much! Keep posting!
As a native Illinoisan, it’s great to see Raging Bull make the list. I still remember being too scared to ride it during my senior physics trip to Six Flags!
I was suprised to see Raging Bull score this high on the list. Its such a good ride, definitely my favorite ride at the park.
I've been to Port Charlotte and even got to visit Tampa Bay. I wish I could've went to the Busch Gardens park. They have a lot of great coasters.
Your content and narration is so good. 👏🏾
I'll never forget my first ever real roller coaster was Raging Bull. That moment halfway down when my brain switched from being afraid to having fun, has to be in my top 10 best experiences. Riding it in the pouring rain the next year... was a lot less fun.
I think rain makes it bettee
@@harleystubbs6199 a nice light rain sure, but it was cold and honestly they probably shouldn't have been running the ride. At that speed the raindrops were painful.
Hey theme park crazy, on my way to Branson Missouri, I saw six flags st Louis, and I saw Mr freeze reverse blast, I can't wait to ride it someday
I knew we'd see a lot of Bolliger & Mabillard on this list
B&M "thrives" on a challenging terrain layout! It's been seen on countless projects, Nemesis is a fabulous name befitting this ride. To be sure it's on my bucket list. Love the video. They're the best of the BEST!
Fun fact: I live near Williamsburg, VA and the local news did a "23 years ago today" special yesterday on Apollo's Chariot and Fabio on opening day in 1999. He went on to many news outlets saying how dangerous the coaster was and how the "goose incident" would happen again and would result in a death. Nothing involving a bird (again) or death has EVER occurred on Apollo's Chariot 23 years later.
There r so many B&M roller-coasters that r so cool, u r totally blown away by them. As u say :" U can never go wrong with a B&M Hyper." 😁
You are such a great creator! Keep up the good work..
The last time I was at cedar point(may 2023), my daughter and I actually walked on the raptor. That ride ALWAYS has a huge wait…the park wasn’t that crowded so I think that’s why we were able to walk on but that ride is still awesome after 29 years!
Nice to see a coaster from my home park make the list. I'm still yet to ride Afterburn, but I definitely will the next time I go to Carowinds.
Rock'N Rollercoaster was my second ever upside down rollercoaster and my first upsidedown steel rollercoaster and I absolutely adored the ride!
Edit: The Incredible Hulk Coaster was my second and I absolutely have to ride it every time I visit IoA! It's one of my favorites there besides Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit and now the Jurassic World Velocicoaster!
I'm surprised Dueling Dragons wasn't on this. Not only is it nostalgia gold (very often people's third coaster--after Rock 'n' Rollercoaster and Hulk), it was considered the best dueling coaster in the world, in part because each coaster was independently excellent.
Even though I never ridden these roller coasters before, they all seem to be a blast to ride before they close at some point. Great video like always, keep it up.
Rock and Rollercoaster is awesome. The cartoonish cutout props are peak Michael Eisner era Imagineering, but it is done so well.
Nemesis is going to be completely retracked ready for its 30th birthday in 2024. It should stay open for another 30 years.
i love these history videos. the 1990s was truly the decade of the inverts!
The Isle Of Man thing is true, You can even see it just from the ground it’s so close I’ve never been on the big one because I didn’t really want to but I’m sure It’d be true
I thought at first this was an Airtime Thrills video, because he does a lot of rankings. Great video, as always! Watched you for almost 3 years now, and a big help in turning me into an enthusiast!
Thank you so much for the kind words! This video was a ton of fun to make!
@@ThemeParkCrazy my favorite coaster channels have always been coaster studios, airtime thrills, and you
I've rode a few of them but man you left off Chang at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom. It held world records. It's now the Green Lantern at Six Flags Great Adventure
It was on the poll, but it didn't make the Top 20 surprisingly. I hope to discuss it in a future video.
I've ridden The Big One, Viper, Raptor, Ghostrider and Nemesis. Ghosrider is the best of them, especially with the Millennium Flyer trains.
I've watched so many of your coaster videos, and this is the first one I can recall seeing one from The Mitten (Michigan)! Still have yet to ride Shivering Timbers, but hoping to do so this summer!
Kumba and Montu have the shortest wait times at the whole park. Montu sometimes has no line. It’s crazy. Very little foot traffic where both roller coasters are located.
When Viper at Six Flags Magic Mountain opened, it was the world’s largest and fastest looping coaster, and it was the “second” fastest coaster in the world, with Magnum XL-200 being the fastest at that time. Viper stands at 188 feet.
The Incredible Hulk was the first roller coaster I ever rode, and was in fact the one that got me into roller coasters. Great ride.
you either must be brave or you have never been to a theme park
Some of the 90s coasters can be still exist in some roller coaster games
I have been a subscriber to your channel for a long time now, and I have "liked" all of your videos, that I have watched! 💜 You do a great job! ☺ I have never commented, until now. I LOVE this video! You brought great memories back to me! One of the coasters on this list, has always been my favorite...Viper! I remember when it opened at Magic Mountain and I couldn't wait to ride it! I was 20 going on 21, when it opened! I dragged my 2 brothers, my cousin, their friends (and of course, my friends) onto that ride, many times! 😁 I even dragged my husband (who I met in 1994, & married in 1999) onto Viper, and he was not a coaster person. lol But he loved it! I was lucky enough, on one visit, to be able to ride it, 6 times, in a row! Some great memories, with great friends & family, from back then! 💜 I also, remember when our Batman the Ride, came to Magic Mountain and that was another favorite of mine! 😁 (Magic Mountain is my "home" park. I grew up, going there.) Thanks for the awesome memories that you brought back to me! 💜 Keep up the great work! I am a fan! 💜
Nice nod to the Fremont News Messenger! I've loved Raptor since the day they built it, and i just love the way it sounds. Iconic coaster.
That Jim Cummings intro brought a big smile to my face! Great video
Yesssssss nemesis!!!!!!!!
Seriously though nemesis really changed the coaster game. Sure there were themed rides but none as intense or as mysterious as nemesis. If nobody has ridden it, you have too its absolutely incredible. I believe it should not be re tracked as the roughness increases the intensity
Here’s a cool fact about Nemesis: A woman once rode the coaster without knowing the ride would save her life. She had a brain tumour, but the forces she experienced while riding Nemesis relieved pressure around the tumour and bought her precious time so she could make it through the surgery to remove the tumour. Another B&M success!
I think there was a day in 1999 when my brother and I rode Alpengeist 11 times-- thanks for unearthing some memories!
This was a great video idea!
