  • @TheJackhawk
    @TheJackhawk Před 2 lety +472

    Gotta defend JT here. Would agree if you said Gamechangers, but in HvV he took a huge risk that would've had a huge reward if he was right (and he honestly was partially right with Parvati). We obviously all knew what was really going on cuz we watched both tribes and experienced the dramatic irony, but if you look at it from just the Heroes side, an all women villain alliance kinda made sense in that era of survivor with Tyson, Rob, and Coach going back to back to back. We also have to remember that JT hadn't seen Samoa, and the only thing the cast was told about Russell was that he was definitely a villain. And while that's probably a clue to not give him an idol, it could also very well mean that he was just an asshole like Randy and not the strategic player Russell actually was. Idk, just my take I guess. I'd probably replace him with Danni in WaW. She was so many people's preseason sleeper pick, including Probst's, only to nuke her own game 6 days in for no reason. Great video though.

    • @GrrumpyPants
      @GrrumpyPants Před 2 lety +57

      I feel like you also have to remember that no one had seen somoa yet, so they had no idea what kind of player russell was. it was a totally valid move.

    • @antoineharris2176
      @antoineharris2176 Před 2 lety +48

      Here's the problem with JT's move, having no knowledge of what actually was going on with the villans tribe, you give someone you don't know a hidden immunity idol hoping that it will save him and he would join you at the merge. Even if Russell was on the outs of his tribe, there was no guarantee that he would join JT after the merge. The more likely scenario is what happened with Sandra, she stuck with the villans because she figured she was at least guaranteed final five with them as opposed to final 6 with the heroes. JT should've just used his idol at 10 himself. I know it sounds like Monday Morning Quarterbacking, however, to me giving someone you don't know an idol is a dunce level move.

    • @cxp0urqu01xj
      @cxp0urqu01xj Před 2 lety +32

      But the problem is, he was SOOOOOO wrong about the move. That would require a lot of 'ifs' to result in a successful move. Even when Amanda brought up the idea of Russell possibly not being on the outs and actually running the tribe, JT dismissed that because he was so confident he had the right perception.

    • @TheJackhawk
      @TheJackhawk Před 2 lety +14

      @@cxp0urqu01xj Honestly it only took one 'if'. If Russell was on the outs, it probably would have worked. And yes, he was completely wrong about this, but imagine if he had given it to Courtney or Sandra. At the most, you get Parvati or Russell out of the game with Parvati's idol washed if she played it on the wrong person. At the very least, if Parvati plays it on the right person, all the votes are negated, Sandra/Courtney goes home, but now both idols are washed and Sandra is much more likely to flip. Idk, I guess my problem with calling him disappointing is that he tried to do something to flip the tides completely to his favor, while the remaining heroes just threw in the towel and called it a day afterwards. Much more disappointed in those heroes than I was in JT.

    JT definitely gets a bad rap for his second outing in Heroes Vs Villains. JT giving the idol to Russel was an awful move to us because we saw Russel play the season prior. However, everybody on the HvV season didn’t get to see Russel’s game play since both seasons were shot back to back. It was a smart move at the time I think and would have been one of the best if it actually worked out for JT. Also think they would not even suspect a girls alliance or giving the idol to Russel if they actually saw the season prior. Idk maybe a hot take.

It was sad to watch Colby fail over and over again after being such a challenge beast in his prior seasons, but it made for compelling TV and that last confessional of his is probably one of the best of all time. Or she was a challenge beast on some of the lamest/easiest challenges. Sowhen she came back and continued to play like a wet blanket, I wasn't surprised.
