Does the export settings in Lightroom really make a big difference? Well yes, some of them do. Knowing how to properly export your photos in Lightroom Classic can make your photo look 10 times better. But it’s also good to just understand what every option does that way when you need to make a change you know how.
Fortunately, your settings will stay relatively the same so once you get them dialed in you won’t have to adjust them too often. In this video we cover what the export settings are and how to use them!

Yeah I’ve heard that a few times 😂 been playing around with it to balance it out in other videos. Or just not adding it lol.

Hi! What do I do if once I export it even if it's in sRGB the photo on iPhone looks yellow? It's wild how different the colors look from my Mac vs. iPhone :( I'm using Lightroom CC

I had this problem a while ago as well. I can’t remember how I fixed it but I remember playing with the display modes for the computer. What year is your computer ?

Hey Will, great video. I am struggling trying to understand the Export Location panel for some reason, maybe my 49 year old brain is leaving me, lol. I see so many people saying to choose Export to Desktop, don’t choose Put Into Subfolder and then just export the image, air drop to IPhone, then from the photo gallery send it to Instagram, FB, etc. After that just delete the export from the Desktop because why do you need it anymore since it really is just a temporary file to get it to Insta, FB, etc. Then I see you talk about saving the export which makes sense to me and then I question what the benefits are and I really need help understanding those benefits. Anyway you could clarify and help me move past my confusion? Really appreciate it as I have seen my question come up a number of times throughout other videos but never an answer really. Also stuck on the Put into Subfolder option as I thought I understood that to be if you had numerous images you were exporting and sending them to the Desktop, then that would put them altogether instead of a bunch of exported images flooding the Desktop. Am in totally wrong about that as well?
Thank you very much for any help.

So when I edit a shoot It's generally for a client or a project. So Im not going to export tons of photos to my desktop and then delete after I send to my phone. Some will get sent to my phone and then posted on instagram. But most are saved on a HD for backup and then delivered to clients.
If I am creating a post for social media, I still want to have a backup of it. I create a folder for it on the Hard Drive for that shoot so I can find it later.
Realistically I never "work from my computer". I do a shoot, I save it all to an external HD, I import to Lightroom from that folder on the external HD and I save the exports in a separate folder next to the RAW folder to keep them organized in case I need to find the RAWs or exports later.
Once the project is done I then back them up on another HD which is only used for a secondary back up.
This is for everything I shoot. landscapes, fun TFP shoots, client work, etc.
Once the exports are done, I will share them to my phone via the export folder or upload to the online gallery I use to deliver to clients.
Hope this helps. If I misunderstood your question let me know and I will clarify best I can. :)

@@willsimpsonphoto Thank you for this info. Really appreciate your time. I like your process and it is how I have been wanting to do things.
Can you explain the way you get your exports to a folder on your external SSD? I understand now how to export to the desktop and airdrop to Instagram and FB thanks to your video but lost on how to get those to a folder on my external SSD after. Probably over thinking
but I am obviously missing something, lol.
Also, the default catalog and all its folders, etc that get installed in my Macs picture folder upon installing LRC, is there any reason I can’t just totally delete all of that since I made a new folder on my external SSD for all images and my used LRC catalog? I somehow accidentally imported 3 small imports in the beginning that went to the default catalog instead of going to the one on my external SSD.
After not seeing those 3 imports in my external SSD catalog, I was advised to:
Click on parent folder "Lightroom Raw Images" and right click then click "Synchnorize Folder" to see the images I could add to my external Catalog.
This was because I could not find those 3 imports of 41 images. It worked and they appeared back to my external SSD catalog but now there is duplicate images in both catalogs and I don’t want that.
Just wondering if from syncing like I was advised to do because I did not realize at the time they went to the default catalog in my Macs picture folder, that if I delete it will it cause harm to my actual catalog on my
      external SSD?
      Thank you.
