Had it myself today I'm a geordie expat living in Essex, my girlfriend and I were watching the game minding our own business in our local pub (not wanting any trouble) . Had Arsenal fans aggressively chanting, swearing, abusing and provoking us before kick off and during the match. Never in 28 years have I felt so threatened as a football fan. Never did I think I would need to warn my girlfriend to be ready to leave in case we got attacked. Utter disgrace!!!

Newcastle fans have definitely mellowed over the years. In the 80s it was the scariest ground to go to for me as a hammer especially by train. Was actually escorted to the ground in the back of a meat wagon. And I've done all the grounds at that time. I would also say they were the best home fans even when we were both in division 2.

Newcastle were relegated that same season a few weeks later, but in with the other Mags at Carrow Road and not one Geordie used the sinks or the floor. Some of them are just putrid animals. Was in with some AFC fans in the late 80s at Norwich (a Barclays League 1st v 2nd game).
Halftime comes along and Arsenal fans were pissing into the sinks and some just using the floor.
Newcastle were relegated that same season a few weeks later, but in with the other Mags at Carrow Road and not one Geordie used the sinks or the floor. Some of them are just putrid animals.
Years ago Harry Enfield did a sketch called "TeleCockneys" with Matt Lucas and Phil Jupitus & he wasn't too far wrong.
