Bleeding Hearts - Transplant After Bloom - July 2

  • Two baby plants show up in a spot that used to have a Bleeding Heart. They sprouted from pieces of root that I did not completely removed. This location is not ideal since the Bleeding Hearts will hold up summer plantings. I transplanted to a more "background" location in the backyard. For the same reason, the two will be cut back and transplanted to under the Pieries Japonica, where no summer planting is likely.

How to store roots in winter for next season?

In my zone 7 weather, I just plant the roots in ground right away. They will grow the next spring. Both roots in the video came back and bloomed in the Spring
