This was the first CD I owned as a little girl. My dad bought it for me and my mom (divorced parents) flipped out because of the title of the CD haha. My dad and I used to sing it and dance around the living room together. He died when I was a teenager but every time I hear this song, it takes me back and I remember...we were laughing....and we danced anyway. Thanks for the memory! This song still hits all these years later.
Is it bad that I know all the words to this song? Me and my grandmother would always sing it toghether, and now, no one really knows what it's like to hear good music. This will always be one of my favorites, no matter how old it gets.
Such a blast from the past. Memories of my life on my grandparents farm singing along with the radio and playing in the fields till the sun goes down ...wow nostalgic
*sigh* old fashioned romance... me and my man met at a death disco.... I can still feel the bass if i close my eyes tight enough :) miss that 3 years and still going
I love this song!!!!! I actually tried to sing it on here lol but I think I will leave it to here to sing ha ha ha..... la la la la la la la la la and we danced anyway...
it's one of those songs with only 4 chords (used in a million other songs), a very standard arrangement (ditto) that can (and was) learned in 10 minutes...but it's just a great and unique song!
My husband likes some songs others would consider "girly" too but that's their problem. You like what you like. No one thinks it's weird I listen to Linkin Park as well as country. Maybe we need to do away with labels. A manly man is one who is secure in his masculinity no matter what others say, and a girly girl is one who's okay with being a girl who does what she likes and likes what she wants. There, how's that? We'll all join the club. : )
I like what pleases me. I honestly can't say what will cause a song to be liked by me... And I'm not sure I'm okay with that. I don't like the thought that any of my thoughts could be determined by what appears to be chance. But I also wouldn't want a concrete set of rules to determine it. That would make it boring. Also, this is a girly song I definitely don't mind listening to :) - czcams.com/video/6PrGszq5ZFA/video.html
@cherrysoda1234567 in all fairness..i doubt he shows it in real life lol..hes anonymous online..not to be pessimistic..but yeah lol..sounds like you're speaking out of experience..sorry 4 that
Actually, your information is also incorrect. Ms. Carter is the daughter of singer Fred Carter, Jr. Singer Dean Martin had a daughter named Deana, not Deanna.
no she's not, June Carter Cash was married 3 times, 1st Carl Smith (9 July 1952 - 1956), then Edwin Lee Nix (11 November 1957 - 1966), then (as everyone knows) Johnny Cash (1 March 1968 - Death) and her only children were John Carter Cash, Rosey Nix Adams and Carlene Carter. Deana Carter's father is Dean Martin while her mom's name isn't stated in her biography, she would have been mentioned in June's, if she was her mother. you might want to try doing some research before leaving a comment.
I have to correct you on the point about her father. It WASN'T Dean Martin...her father was Fred Carter Jr., who was a country music singer, musician, producer and songwriter. Dean Martin DID have a daughter named Deana, but that's just coincidental here. Deana Carter and her dad Fred are not members of June Carter Cash's family.

Is it bad that I know all the words to this song?
