I have 3 27" 144hz AOC monitors and I love them.... I got them on sale last black friday on Amazon and have never had an issue with them. My only complaint would be that the interface is kind of awkward, you can get the hang of it, but its just wierd. The colors are amazing, the contrast is great, etc.
You should compare all the mainstream 3440x1440 monitors. The list includes the AOC monitor in this video (100 hz; VA), the PG348Q (100 hz; IPS), the newly released x34p (120 hz; IPS), and the AW3418DW (Also 120 hz; IPS). The x34p is a better version of the x34/x34a, with better quality control, and 120hz. The Alienware is the same panel as the x34p, but the Alienware has an 8-bit panel, while the x34p has a 8bit + frc panel. Plus, in a few months LG will release their 120hz, NanoIPS monitor, which will probably be better that the x34p and the alienware.
I've now owned mine for a year, and I love it! Setting it up right gives really good picture quality. Shadow control works very well in games like PUBG. I can see enemies better in shadows.
Still using this as my main display. Still zero dead pixels, Still looking quite nice when gaming/watching and just the right amount of wide to dev on . Still got love for it for sure.

The Acer Z35P which is the same resolution but 120Hz for only £20 more. I prefer the Alienware one compared to the X34 or the PG348Q.
