Burch if you like 80s style music, it still is alive and well in Japan.
Check out Aldious Dominator live Radiant A O East.
Check out Versailles Revenant Choir live, you'd like this
Most Metal bands had nearly 100% male fan base. Motley Crue was the first Metal band that started with a mostly female fan base.
I was 15 years old when this record came out, and I listened to it so much even my mother knew the lyrics 🤣🤣🤣
Entire album is great
I was 13 in 1983 when I saw this video on MTV after moving to Houston from queens n.y....it's hard to understand today how powerful MTV was in the 80's and I knew that when I saw this that I was going to love heavy metal for the rest of my life....I'm 53 and nothing has changed😂
My absolute favorite song by the Crüe. Looks That Kill, Shout At The Devil, Knock Em Dead, Kid, 10 Seconds To Love, Helter Skelter, the album doesn't stop.
All killer no filler.
@@stanleydavidlepretre4241 yep and it's got that muddy like other albums in that era.
10 Seconds To Love is their most underrated song IMO.
Goth? We absolutely didn't call this goth at the time. This was metal. Though my gang listened to punk, metal, rock, even rockabilly.
Goth is how the younger folk see it. Hard to dinsguish between the two them, metal and goth. To me it's always metal but I get the references
My favorite Crue song. Finally...
Their debut album is my favorite...🤘👽🤘
hell yea...Too Fast for Love, Live Wire, Public Enemy #1, Starry Eyes, Come on & Dance, Take Me to the Top & my favorite Piece of you Action
This was my introduction into motley crue! The t-shirts were awesome back in the day
When this album came out , I was about 15. Like he said when you brought this album home and dropped the needle and in the beginning starts to play, it scared the hell out of ya and then every song was just a killer! The 80's just rocked!
This was when Vince was at his best. He got it together after the crash. Tommy Lee has the energy of ten people, probably why he has a Starbucks in his house. Lol. Watching them live when the drums rotate is so cool.
The energy back in the day definitely didn’t come from Starbucks😂😂😂
@@johnculver3294 Lol I was being kind hehehe!
This was a couple years before the crash I believe.
1983,The crash was December 8 1984.
@@seanfay2848 Thank you for that. I for some reason thought this was post accident.
I was 13 when i first heard this album. 97.5 KMOD radio in Tulsa used to play full albums on sunday evenings. I listened to my older siblings classic rock music until that night. About one year later i graduated to thrash. Thank you Mötley Crüe.
Crüe is my favorite hard rock band ever 🖤! The Dirt simply kicks 455!!
When we were covering it with my band in the 1990s, our singer was adamant to sing it to sing it "too YUM to fall in love". She was that, though...
In LA during the 80's Motley Crue were so approachable. If they weren't on tour you could find them hanging out on their Harley's in front of a bunch of different bars along the Sunset strip.
Great tune, I'm so glad I "lived" this era!!
Alexis rules luv ya congrats on the new baby. We love u
Lol... more like good luck.
I wore that damn number of the beast shirt out...
Nice that you are going back to the earlier Motley Crue. I like their Too Fast for Love and Shout at the Devil albums. Watching this video is like watching a B movie, if that, lol.
When I was in school it was typically the 90/80/70/60 scale for min A, B, C, D but some where as tough as a 94/88/82/76 scale.
I was 16 when shout at the devil came out and I remember going to t he record store called the purple ear. I still have that original vinyl so many great memories from bands like Motley,Kiss,Acdc. Peace and love from Perth Western Australia
Saw Them Five times Live and two tribute bands live 🤘💀💀💀🤘
Great song, remember the video well!
By far the best first hearing channel out there!!!
I went to the concert when motley Crue was touring with Ozzy in KC. I was 16.
1st, I'm 16, and just finished 9th grade with all credits and a 3.0 GPA.
The grading system today for me is:
A 100%-89.50%
B 89.49%-79.50%
C 79.49%-69.50%
D 69.49%-59.50%
F 59.49%-0%
And 2nd, this is my #1 favorite song by the band! Rock on Mötley Crüe! 🤘🎸
Great job underrated song! Great album! Cool as hell video. Got to see the headline in 83 in El Paso with Heaven & Axe for $8.50 before Ozzy took them on the road. Change my life🤘🏼🍺
Great reaction! I read through a lot of the comments and it seems no one else picked up on it, but the lyric you attributed to Kid Rock about staying skinny was actually from Nickelback’s Rockstar
This video has some serious KISS Meets The Phantom Of The Park vibes haha
I laughed at the shirt comment. I got in trouble for wearing the ACDC " Heat Seeker" shirt lol
Loved it!!! I was 12 years old in '83 and absolutely fell head over heels in love with this album and the band. "Shout at the Devil" remains my favorite Crue album to this day, it's just so damn good from top to bottom, as you said Burch. I too had issues with t-shirts in school, namely a Stryper "To Hell With the Devil" - the principal called my Mom and asked that she bring me another t-shirt to wear the rest of the day! My Mom did as requested...such bullsh*t! lol - I too remember the grading system from those days: 90-100 = A; 80-89 = B; 70-79 = C; 60-69 = D; 59 and below = F. lol
I was 16 and went to the motley Crue and Ozzy concert in KC.
Vince could sing back in the day. I saw them with Ozzy for the Shout tour and then on the Theater of pain tour. He sounded great both times.
If you noticed....... She had Tommy's face mark. That's why he was hesitant to leave.
Not sure why she had it or what it meant, but that was his mark. 🤔
We have the oldest FM station here in St Louis if not just in the US but in the world it's called kshe95 and their mascot is a pig that says sweet meat I used to get in trouble for wearing that shirt to school all the time
It looked like anime to me more than goth. It's the opening scene that reminded me of my daughters anime she is into. After that it clicked with me, and i can't unsee it now.
Masterpiece ever. Great
Back in the day, I saw Crue play live numerous times. Back in Vince's early years, the dude sang pretty good. It wasn't the same as the album, but his voice was pretty kick ass. It's when the partying took over, he started getting sloppy with his voice. But he was always a cool dude and one hell of a front man. When Motley came to town, they always showed up and always put on one hell of a show.
My favorite Crue album is that debut one...🤘👽🤘and Burch, not trying to show you up, but the lyrics, "we'll all stay skinny cause we just won't eat" isn't Kid Rock, it's Nickelback their song called Rockstar...
You're both just super nice, congrats from Mexico. Long live Glam Metal
Love this song and video. When I was a teenager and saw this video for the first time I thought they were the coolest people on earth...Long live The Crue!!!
I was 14 at the time. So much awesome music. And iconic movies. I miss the 80’s . But great full to experience.
This is probably my favorite Crue video. First time I heard this album was in a church on a retreat with my class back in 1984 or so. 😅
When Kiss meets Slayer, you get early Motley Crue.
Love you guys! Have since Day 1. GREAT show! Alexis has an amazing laugh🥰
Oh, yeah! I remember this. I was in my late teens playing in rock bands myself. I was a vocalist, songwriter and played drums, guitar and keyboards. This was an awesome song, and album.
Great tune,love the beat/groove.Rockin!!!!🔥🔥🔥
Seeing them live with my dad so awesome! John 5 was ok but Mick would’ve been better.. it is what it is.
Can you react to another Crue song? You’re all I need ❤️
CRUE! CRUE! CRUE! Nice call Box!!! Back in the day all we had was Headbangers Ball to see our metal! Ty! ☘️🇺🇲
STILL my favorite Crue tune, with Piece of Your Action taking the #1 spot every now and then.......But that song NEVER aged on me at all...."Looks That Kill",however, definitely made it on my infamous "TOP TEN List of Tracks I Would Pay Money To Never Hear Again"..............Now,thanx to you,I`ll have to crank this song once again and enjoy it............
Good choice. My favorite off this album was red hot
It's a precipitation trophy
I got to see these guys and Poison playing the regular places at the Sunset strip. I really liked Crew, but not Poison. I was a Sophomore in college, enjoying the music scene with so many great up and coming bands.
I graduated in 82 and the grading system back then was way different. 100% was an E for Excellent S for Satisfactory M for medium F for failure. Some time after that when my boys started going to school it changed to A...B...C...D and I think F
Motley Crue - Hooligans Holiday
Dream Theater - Pull Me Under
Kings X - Over My Head
Great Song
Seen them live in concert, 1st concert was by them, awesome show over the years, good song, good review by u guys 🤘😆🤘🎤🥁🎸🎸🔥🔥🔥🔥
SATD in my opinion is the masterpiece, the one who you recognize at first chord
You need to do your all I need back in the day that video was banned in the US due to the nature of the song and video but it is a really good video! I was a huge Crue fan and even have 4 Motley Crue tattoos!
The difference back then was if you wanted to see a particular video, you had to sit in front of MTV (or MuchMusic in Canada) and wait until one of the VJs decided to play it. There was no CZcams and there was no internet. Not too many households even had VCRs yet (ask your parents.... I'm not explaining VCRs in this comment). Almost no one I knew ever got to see the first few seconds of this video because when one of us saw it, we'd start calling friends to tell them it's on. Those calls lasted all of 3 seconds each and most of us would start watching when it was already about 20 to 30 seconds in
I remember a girl freaking out that I had this tape in my walkman in 7th grade. I had other tapes she liked, but when she saw Shout At The Devil... Game over!
Gotta do black sabbath - War pigs!!
in my time and i graduated in 1984, was 100-95 is A, 94-90 is B, 89--80 is C, 79-70 is D, anything lower is an F.
That is correct, same here
I graduated in '85 & we were 90-100 was an A, 80-90 was B, 70-80 was a C & 60-70 was a D
‘86 grad here, public school had A for 90% and up, B = 80-89, C = 70-79, D= 60-69. Private high school moved that slightly upward (a point or two).
Pretty bad that apparently now a student can get every question on a test wrong and still get a D.
Growing up in the early 80's in Texas, we used a 10-point grading system. 90-100 was an A, 80-89 was a B, etc. I moved to Virginia for high school, and they used a 6-point grading system. You had to get a 94, for an A.
for a while - this was my favorite Crew's song. Until "All in the name of" "Dr Feelgood", and then "power to the music (in the streets)" I guess.
My best friend had a Crue Fans are the Best Fu(k the rest shirt and I had the GNR Lies album cover shirt. We coordinated wearing them to school when we wanted to get sent home. One of always drove to school so naturally we went fishing and not home. Those were the best of times!!
Loved the reaction as always!! :) It's fun watching the two of you going back and forth about the music I, like Birch, grew up on. I actually never figured out what this video was supposed to be about, but now I know, thanks Birch! I agree, this album is killer from top to bottom.
I seen them on the Doctor Feelgood tour, great show. I want to say '88 or '89, can't remember. Long time ago.
Hello guys, congrats for that reaction, what Burch jus said about the restrictions for wearing that "Shout at the devil" t- shirt got me into trouble when I was in Junior high and one of my cousins studying at the same school in Mexico which was Catholic btw. The brothers madeus and a bunch of friends to wear heavy metal shirts inside out so they wouldn't suspend us hahaha! I refused and I was forced by my parents to apologize. A $20 dlls t- from the concert I ha gone to in Phoenix, AZ!
Back in 1984, I cut up a concert t shirt and sewed it to the back of my jean jacket. It looked good. Went to a catholic high school and couldn't wear it in the school. Iron Maiden Number of the Beast was the shirt.
I agree with Burch: Back in the early days of Crüe, Vince was a solid singer. Not the best, not technical. But distinctive. I think in one of his books, Nikki said he had a bit of a Robin Zander thing going, and I guess if you close your eyes, you can hear it a little bit. And it was good enough for what they were doing.
MTV was new at the time so many videos were random like that. LOL.
...I wore a "shout" t-shirt to high school. The home room teacher thought the spelling of the word crue was odd. She asked me about the band, and would she like the band....I laugh then said I hope not. lol.
I seen Motley a few times in concert seen in Memphis that the same concert touring with ozzy.Ozzy got arrested for Public Drunkenness
I always liked this video, came out when I was in high school
"Live Wire" is a great video.I hope you both will react to that. They used to cut mannequin;s heads off with a chainsaw back in their club days also
Saw motley crew live Buffalo memorial auditorium shot at the devil tour. It was excellent
Try the Hear`N`Aid "Stars" video...........I would rent that videotape almost every other weekend with my lawn-mowing money because it was such a big thing,a loud thing for our metal/hard rock community..........
Neil wasn't a great voice or a great technician, but he was a great melody and emotion conveyor, he was a showman and a magnet, he had charisma and a feel for the dramatic rendering, which made him quite a frontman. Im 1983 Bach or Axl hadn't arrived yet and even Bon Jovi was just about to, so in this niche - Neil might have ruled for a few months
Enjoyable reaction video. Shout at the Devil was released on my 17th birthday. Great album but, I still like Too Fast for Love better and sadly IMHO pretty much everything after except Dr. Feelgood didn't live up to my expectations. I did, however, get to see this show but, unfortunately for the Crue, Loudness opened up for them and blew them off the stage.
I would lovevto see alexis reaction to la villa stranguato.
Nothing wrong with this album.
You young puppies I was twenty one when this was a hit watching on m t v when it's still played music
I thought they set Mick on fire. Maybe I’m wrong oh well. My first concert ever was bark at the moon tour. The line up was Wasted then the Crue and Ozzy for the finale. If you ask me Tommy stole the whole show. He had sticks flying everywhere it was awesome. 😎
He was a "Great" front man. Had a decent voice before year 2000.
First concert I ever went to as a teenager in 83! Waysted/Motley/Ozzy 🤘🏼🫡
Me too, in KC.
I'm in west Texas. Graduated in '83. Our school had no rules in attire like this. Then again, when this album was released, I had already graduated. So, I dunno.
My mom was the one who freaked out when she saw this album in my collection.
Parents were staunch Southern Baptists, and rock music was the devil's music.
But I didn't care. I bought the cassettes of my favorite bands, and kept them in the 180 cassette case/holder in my car.
The video...yeah, random. The look, yeah, goth and random.
For some reason, that era of hard rock/metal/glam metal videos all seemed to have a "post apocalyptic" setting.
This video didn't but other Crüe videos did... Looks That Kill, to be specific.
Other bands did the same thing. Queensrÿche's video for Queen of the Ryche...100% cheesy if you watch it now... but absolutely awesome, at the time. But it was that same, post-apocalyptic, Mad Max Road Warrior meets Star Wars look.
MAN, I loved the 80s!
Yes, Alexis, there's no shortage of 80s videos that had little to do with the song.
Every man needs an alexis. That's a fact
Kiss, Crue, Cooper, and Sabbath/Ozzy were tremendously theatrical metal concerts.
Hi have you looked at “Jethro Tull”? Rock music with a flute…
i think this video and kiss' all hell's breakin' loose is directed by the same person. they look very similar, maybe do that one and compare and contrast!!
Love it and we will! Great idea
Go back to the first album for some great Motley Crue tunes.
94-100
They all may have even played their instruments back then.
Will we ever get a reaction to The Warning??? Pleeeeease and thank you. Hahahah
I used to where my glow in the dark metallica metal up the ass shirt on movie day
I was in Jr High when this came out. It was the 1st album I ever bought with my own money. I memorized the spoken intro to Shout At The Devil and used to get detentions for reciting it while walking into class for no reason. Big Crue fan from the beginning. Even their last studio album, Saints Of Los Angeles, was completely awesome. It's a damn shame what they've turned into now, letting AI do their writing and recording and playing completely to tracks. I mean, Vince always sounded like crap live but at least back in the day they were actually live.
I am couple of years older then you Birch but, 90's was an A, 80's was a B, 70's was a C, 60's a D, and below 60, F. Then my junior year they changed it. 92 or above an A, 82 and above, B. So on so forth. I don't get how 50 is a D. Also, it was Nickelback and not Kid Rock.
He is in that shot in the video. I was referencing the visual...realized after I watched the playback 😁
back when they were great and vince actually sang.
Took over 1/3 of the video to finally get around to it.
Sorry, this was one of the shorter intros....they are usually much longer 🤘🤣🤘
100% same here, but no way I'm that old, right?
Is it possible to react to motley crue with John Corabi 1994 record and Vince Neil solo 1993 exposed 1995 carved in stone records. There's some really good stuff on those records and alot reaction channels seem to bypass which i think is wrong.
