@@GM-tw4el Literally the quietest entrance in this stadium dwarfs anything in Rams Park. This is a night game, in the cold, in the mountains, against a dogshit team, during a mediocre season, and even so, the entire east stands were shaking for a good ten minutes and I didn’t have solid hearing for a long long time after. Cameras can’t capture a tenth of the intensity. All for a college team that’s more intense than your professionals.
I'll echo the comments of other tech fans on other videos of this, I wish the ACCN had put the crowd noise higher in the mix than the song. Like in this video you can't really tell how loud the stadium actually is because the production mix from the broadcast has Sandman so loud. But let me tell you, you think this is good? This is a Virginia Tech team that's only won 5 games in the last two years and they still sell out the stadium. Go watch some of the Sandman entrances from the Beamer days when Tech was winning 10 games and going to a bowl game every year. Go find that 2011 Miami game and watch Miami's last drive. That's the real electricity there.
Im glad they let the song play. I get sick of these awesome entrances and they cut the song off to play the school fight song. Just play the fight song after the song. let the crowd stay hyped.
As someone who was at this game, watching on tv is awesome but it is nothing to the hear how loud it is live, never been to a stadium that compares even though I haven't been the to the Swamp or Death Valley(LSU) which I have heard are crazy.
Reminds me of the chills at FSU…when Renegade runs to mid field…rears back on his hind legs with Chief Osceola on top with a flaming spear in hand…with huge drums and war chant going…the stadium goes nuts. Nothing quite like college football…Just amazing!
@@orangecobraEU Yes, maybe not the NFL crowds but I feel the College football crowds are better than anything you will get in the UK and the rest of Europe (UK resident, Manchester) I also think The college football and NFL do a better job of making the game more of an experience with music and flyovers and fireworks. For those commenting about their school being louder - this is every single home game. Winning team, losing team, doesn’t matter. The students and locals and alumni are there for their team. As they should be. Metallic joined them via screen once to do it live. It is always this way. You have to pay attn to the sound meter. That shows the real story. Others are interesting entrances (although Clemson gives me a heart attack everytime. I’m waiting for a player to fall and get injured ), nothing rivals the continued blast of sound for the whole song. Just FYI - I’m not associated with VT in any way.
Great entrance but imo penn state’s entrances during white outs are deafening. 2019 when Michigan played them i couldnt even hear anything on the tv bc it was so loud.

Great song, but American sports fans have alot to learn from Europe and south America. It's all too safe and family friendly. The danger is part of the fun!
@@orangecobraEU oh really? I did not know that. As far as football violence between opposing fans goes, I don't think it would work in America, simply because too many citizens own guns and will just shoot you if you get into a fight with them, especially in states with concealed carry and stand your ground laws, whereas organised football violence originated in the UK (mostly England) and spread all over Europe, especially eastern Europe and Italy, and due to English fans obnoxious behaviour and their history of violence they're usually targeted by European fans specifically and usually come off second best nowadays. Eastern Europeans will actively train in mma and boxing gyms to prepare for football violence, in Italy, especially lazio fans their trademark is to slash your ass cheeks with a knife so you can't walk or move your legs until it heals, whereas English fans are just drunks who throw beer bottles and outdoor cafe furniture at people not caring if they hit the innocent.

Actually, VT did not start this tradition. Indiana University started in the 90s with the song Jump Around. They, too, register on a Richter scale when the song is played. I believe the Enter Sandman is played as the team enters the field just before kick off. The sing Jump Around is played as the team comes onto the field to start the 3rd quarter to hype the team for the 2nd half.

Regardless, Indiana nor Wisconsin play "Enter Sandman" during their entrance ceremony. I can't find one video or news article of it for either school.
Just a false statement. Consistently in the Top 5 for years. Don’t judge the entrance by the down cycle the Hokies are having. I’ve been to Doak and it’s awesome but not better
