I live in a small condo, so I store my makeup in my closet. I have one shelf with organizers for my eyeshadow palettes. Then on a couple other shelves I have clear makeup organizers for lip and eyeliners, lipsticks, brushes, etc. I have a Shop My Stash basket that I keep on my desk. I’m in the process of listing my inventory in Google spreadsheets. I was shocked this weekend to discover I have 391 eye shadow palettes and 100’s of foundations!! Blushes bronzers, highlighters and lip products I haven’t finished entering yet. Ugh!! I relate to “saving products for a special occasion” and don’t want to continue that thinking. I’m on a low buy now too (obviously). And am going to join the panning community as soon as I get organized. This, like all your videos, are so helpful! Love your eye look. Even though I want to run out and buy something from unearthly cosmetics I’ll refrain because I just bought the new nomad palette and really want the blend bunny’s new primal palette. It looks so colorful. Lol

Yes!!!! I totally agree when you said, I don’t save products. Me either!!! I remember an older person had stated, wear your favorite perfume everyday because you never know when your last day will be. Since then most of my project pan items are actually those that I have spent the most. Mainly because I want to get my $ worth from them. This outlook has resulted in me curbing more affordable items like drugstore makeup. Not bc they aren’t good but bc it is better to get usage goals from more expensive items then have mass quantities of things I will just let go to waste. I appreciate this video!!
I’ve got really basic products in my project pan. I’m trying to finish 22 in 22. I’m so glad you finally tried Unearthly! They are one of my favorites.
The way I shop my stash is more of the makeup bag style. I go through and put everything in my makeup bag away every once in a while, and then go through and put a full face in my makeup bag, perhaps with a couple of options for some steps. I allow myself to grab for other items when I feel like it, and I can put them in the makeup bag then if I like. The act of putting all my items away shows me how much stuff I have in my hoard, and grabbing new things helps me feel like I get to use fun new stuff. And I have realized that the only way to use up more products is to do my makeup more frequently - after all, I am going to use the same amount of blush no matter which blush I use, for example - so I may as well make it fun so I am tempted to put on makeup more often.
I agree, I like to use my most expensive stuff the most so I can get my money's worth, I never understood the idea of saving it for a special occasion and instead insisting to use the cheaper stuff they own - I have heard so many people in videos say that and it always confuses me lol life itself is the special occasion
I used to be one of those people that saved things for special occasions, I got into the habit because growing up people saved the more expensive things they owned for special occasions... It took me a while to get out of that habit and I still struggle with it but these days I actually use my more expensive things instead of saving them ( randomly I have days where I am like ohh you should wait for a special occasion to use this and then I'm like but whats the point cause then its not getting use) I think it comes down to if we were conditioned to think we have to save more expensive things for special occasions or not tbh ....
I change my blush and highlighter every week. Im just hitting surprise pans on things now. It looks like a lot of the people i follow are also doing a lot of usage goals instead of panning.
