I completely agree that consistency is key!! I’ve said it multiple times in my videos. I wear makeup 5-6 times a week which helps and I have realized I will never pan eyeshadows. I love the variety too much. I’ve tried and it’s a chore instead of enjoyment. I finally panned my first lipstick this year thanks to you!! I get better every year. It’s a work in progress. Btw you inspire me to try harder and love to see your progress. Motivates me and never deters me. 😁😁💖💖💖

I feel the same way about fragrance, having a bunch of minis and trying things out is fun but I wouldn’t ever want to do that with highlight for example. Some categories I’d just get overwhelmed with and not really have an opinion on things if I rotated a lot.

We are panning twins! I agree with basically everything in this video as far as how to succeed in panning. Consistency is really everything. If I'm using the same item every day, I'm going to go through it way more quickly than if I rotate. The only thing I don't do is multitask. I don't do my brows so I can't use eyeshadow for that, and I'm so picky about my bronzer shade, eyeshadows don't work for that either. I'm not into cream products so lipstick as blush doesn't work either. I prefer to use them for their intended purpose, but I do agree multitasking does help immensely!
Janelle S I think it’s really interesting with a collection as large as she has that this is her strategy. Maybe it would be crazy overwhelming to play around with things and not finish like she said. But honestly it’s just really cool to see her year long empties. A few years ago I came across her and really got into panning cuz o was so inspired by the progress she made.

Im rotating through my collection and i definitely know that my empties are probably going to a standstill now. My makeup memory is quite small though, like i can keep in mind only a few palettes/lip products at a time, i pretty much forget the rest of mg collection 😂 pretty much when im rushing out in the morning, do my makeup asap is more important that feeling bored. I do give myself leeway to pick among a group of 6 -8 lip products to play around
I love watching your videos because I think the same as you - use it up completely, don’t waste things and not opening things until I’m ready to use them consistently. Also, you may not do monthly makeup baskets or whatever but you do SO many project pans that you have plenty of products to choose from!
I am completely the same. I've only recently started panning but I am seeing progress. I actually have one of each category of makeup in my project pan and it all fits into one makeup bag. I use this everyday for work because it's so convenient for getting ready in the morning. I allow myself to play around on the weekends if I want but I usually am consistent because I love seeing the progress. Thanks for the great video
Rebeca,I love your make-up look,your lipstick is very fabulous on you.I love how you do your project panning,you are realy good in it,and you are very consistent in using your products,and it’s also easy to wear the same looks,because you know that they look good on you,so it save you a lot of time,doing the same look,and that is amazing when you work so much as you do,that you can save time on your morning routine.Finding daily a new eyelook costs a lot more time.When I worked a lot,I also did every morning the same look untill I used up the products,but in that time I didn’t own lots of make-up.Now that I don’t work anymore because of my illness,I started slowly with buying more make-up,after several years buying many make-up(always drugstore,and always on sale),I got a huge stash of make-up.I didn’t have control over my buying habbits,that’s why I started my no buy 19 months ago because I also have a low budget,I didn’t have control over my make-up buying habbits,and my make-up stash was only growing,because I bought faster than I could use my make-up.I did use up many products in those 19 months,and products which were still closed,I let those closed as long as possible.But because I own now so much make-up,and I don’t work anymore because of my illness,I have more time in the morning,and now I get bored when I use daily the same look,every day that I wear make-up(mostly 4-5 times a week),I do every time another look,and that’s for me the reason that I don’t empty my products as fast as you.From Some make-up catagory’s I only have one product open like foundation,powder,three different colours mascara,concealer,cremebronzer,faceprimer,eyeprimer,glitterglue,lippencil,so these products Will go much faster with me to empty those,but for me it’s difficult to empty eyeshadows,bronzer,blush,lipproducts,because these are for me the products that I rotate daily to create another look.I do three different panning projects,two with make-up,and one with beauty related products.When I started these projects I didn’t think well enough about the products that I entered because I needed 36 make-up products,but I also included all products that I normaly rotate daily,so I changed those products after 5 months into products that I use on a daily base,so more base products.Now my projects go much better,and I don’t have that bored feeling anymore because I can rotate the products again that I like,I still have a lipgloss included,but that’s one that I can use over lipstick,over my lippencil,and on it’s one because it’s a light pink gloss.I Will stay on my no buy untill I used up most of my make-up,and own a normal amount.I don’t find it hard to be on a no buy,because I enjoy every product I own,but I Will work in the future with a list with howmany products I am allowed to own in each catagory to prevent that I Will fall back into my old habbits.And comming year I know exactly what kind of products I Will enter in a project,but I want to do next year also a project with beauty related items again,because I realy love panning projects,and they also give me a stimulation to use my make-up also on days that I don’t feel well,because when you look better,you also feel a little better.I did last year only one project with make-up,and beauty related items,so this year was for me the first year to do multiple projects which all started the first of January,and I realy had no idea which kind of products I needed to enter,no I learned from it,so next year I Will finish more products when I choose the right products from the start.Thank you Rebeca for this amazing video,this realy Will help people who are just gonna do panning projects or multiple projects for the first time,xoxo wendy❤️
Thanks for the tips! Consistency definitely helps I had a big jump on my loose powder focusing on it for 2 weeks straight! I wear makeup 6-7 days a week also. Lipsticks are hard for me but I don’t reapply need to start!! Oh I do weekly makeup baskets too which I think is why I don’t focus on pp items 100% but i think I do pretty well 😂
Thanks for your thoughts. I've been discouraged as I've been using the Elf Mad for Matte 2 palette all year and only hit pan in one shade. I wear makeup 5-6 days a week also. I just have to keep plugging away.
You maybe pan like me. I`ve been also discouraged before until I realized some things. Panners usually always dip in the same spot and use small pencil brushes so pans shows sooner. I just dip my brush wherever and I`m also very light handed. I always flatten the shadow a lot before hitting pan. But once I do it`s huge and I`m really close to being done, unlike people who use small brushes on the same spot. They hit little tiny pan in the middle but the rest of the pan has no usage. That`s why you see some people hitting pan in just a few uses but then it actually takes them a whole year to finish that one eyeshadow. Also it`s harder so see usage in matte shades cause they`re more firmly pressed and don`t move around as easily as shimmers. You for sure have a lot of usage, it just shows differently. This video makes so much sense. I think this is my panning style too (slow with shadows, compulsively reapply lipstick, need several on-the-go looks, don't really like touching makeup until it's officially ready to use because bacteria, etc.), but I see folks doing rotations and makeup baskets, and think that maybe I'm panning wrongly somehow, though obviously there's no right or wrong way to pan things. I definitely benefit more from sticking to several products and quick looks that don't require much thinking in the morning or that I can do at my desk at work before the 'work' part starts lol Anyway, THANK YOU for this vid. You are very inspiring, and I hope to finish at least 1/5 of the stuff you're on the way to finishing this year. :D
Alexandra Brovco yes do what works for you. Don’t feel like you’re doing it wrong! I follow a lot of youtubers but my “collection” is not anywhere near as large and I actually don’t like having a lot of variety in most categories. My monthly makeup basket would be the same for a year 😂

We are panning twins! I agree with basically everything in this video as far as how to succeed in panning. Consistency is really everything. If I'm using the same item every day, I'm going to go through it way more quickly than if I rotate. The only thing I don't do is multitask. I don't do my brows so I can't use eyeshadow for that, and I'm so picky about my bronzer shade, eyeshadows don't work for that either. You should do playlists of your project pans. Those simple tips work, for me at least since I have make up empties every month ☺️
