- As IndyCar will once again return to Road America and in honor of that, we do a 16 lap race with the IndyCars in Project CARS 2.
Road America's 4 mile, high speed layout is perfect for IndyCar racing... as you will see in this video.

2. Road America
3. Leguna seca
This makes me want to watch Indy car... if only there were more tracks like this
I'd say the Top 3 American Road courses are Road America, for abvious reasons, Watkins Glen, for obvious reasons, and maybe COTA soleley because of its importance and FIA certification. If that didn't matter, though, Laguna Seca, Road Atlanta, or Sebring would be my other calls

COTA is the poster child for Tilke's track designs. Absolutely no flow, unnecessary hairpins and chicanes, sections copied from better tracks, etc.
I personally think Barber motorsports park is better than road Atlanta

Motorsportfan9 ok, I get that you probably dont think it's a super exciting track, but I really like the large climb towards the beginning of the track and the winding descent, so for me it's a top 3 in America.

When you create a pit strategy, select all for tires. Recommended could result in your crew not changing your tires at all.

I finally got my Project Cars 2 to work right. And this is one of my favorite tracks to go on. And my 2nd is Spa.
Going this weekend, very thankful to have this amazing circuit in my home state just an hour away.
Now if only they had a licensed indycar game.

The only race that PC2 shad on the calendar after this is Sonoma Raceway.Maybe go to the Glen for a video as that was a great race which they removed for some reason.

Shane bout that out crew, strategies can be confusing. Set tires to ALL. Or just do it manually in ICM. I spent like 2 days working on getting the trackside cameras to match IMSA, hope you guys like them. AI has unfair speed advantage in the carousel but you can catch them in other areas. Great track for drafting. The Indycar PWC weekend should be great, unfortunately I can't attend but do plan to be the August for IMSA

Road America is kinda funny in Group A cars because the faster cars like the Sierra pull away so quickly from everyone else. It's like they're using nitrous in the Fast And The Furious or something.
Laguna Seca has the best view for spectators. If you get on top of the hill near the corkscrew you can see about 90% of the track

That tire change bug has been in PC2 since launch. You have to manually select the tire in the popup menu because, for whatever reason, it just ignores your race strategy.
You have to take the carousel at the top of third gear. That's why you keep understeering ;-P
I dig this course man, but I have to but it narrowly outside the top three. For me, the best course in 'merica is Watkins Glen - it has the heritage and longevity of most of the famous euro courses, but it's in New York, heh. Then VIR has to be second, partially for the heritage reason, but it's also a helluva challenging course, and a blast to race around. And you can't not have Laguna Seca in your top three 'merican courses, so, it's there at number three for me. This one's a close fourth though.

I think you're supposed to take the carousel on the outside. Less Gs and higher speed on the exit.

In a braking zone for sure. Probably Turn 5, but hard to say because I've never been to RA.
Awesome thanks, I was already thinking either 5 or 14. I'll probably go back and forth between the two since they're apparently pretty close together walking distance.

I watched the start last year from turn 5 and that was a pretty good spot but this year I will be at kettle bottoms because the trees surrounding it make the cars sound a lot louder so all of them going through full throttle in the first few laps should be pretty interesting. The braking zone into turn 12 would probably be a pretty good spot as well.
Walk/Move around as much as you can. Road America is one those tracks you can go almost anywhere on, so changing perspective is always great. I've been going for a few years now and have never stayed put, and it's been great. If you want to stick to a certain spot though, turn 5 is always good, and the hill with the concession stand over Hurry Downs is a good spot that allows great views of turns 6-8, with the convenience of having some bomb food right behind you
I would put this outside top five road courses in America I’m not a fan (still going to race there tomorrow anyway lol).

I did an Indycar race at Sebring in Forza Motorsport 7 today and when I thought about indycars at Sebring it makes want to ask this question...WHY ON EARTH ISN'T THIS (SEBRING) ON THE INDYCAR CALENDAR?
