The snowbike: a seemingly normal motocross bike modified with a front ski and a 10 inch wide track in the back, making for one of the most innovative and versatile snow machines we've ever seen. Professional Snowbike riders Brock Hoyer & Reagan Seig take to the Idaho backcountry with freerider Ronnie Renner to lay first tracks on some backcountry bowls and steep chutes - taking the sport, and the timbersled, to places previously unridden.

To a snowboarder like me this looks like amazing fun! The ease at which you can climb tops and ride down powder is amazing!!
I know this video is 7 years old also imagine the better tech on it now.
They are not YOUR LINES and thus can not be "poached"
exactly, the big chute at 4:40 is one of the most famous spots in winter powersports.
No kidding.
easy guys he has to make himself out to be a unicorn.if it were me I would poach there girls while they are jerking off there ego up in the freeze ...cause anybody that knows that area knows that's not that chumps lines .
Exactly
4:40 That chute is all over the internet on sledding videos. It's in no way a secret. I've seen hours of video from different guys in that exact spot.
He took it a little far there lol
Love how at 3:20 you talk about doing snow pits and assessing the snowpack and then 3 riders get on the slope at the same time. I think your sport is alright but you have a lot to learn about the backcountry.
+Erik Tibbits Thought the same thing.
they wewre basically bombing the hill no need to worrie
^famous last words
Joel Little it's that type of attitude that's going to get you killed out there man. Avalanches are unpredictable. A deep snow avalanche is one that breaks out the entire snowpack and is often unsurvivable.
@@SpengioDoy yeah sorry to break your heart but a snowbike is quite a bit faster, heavier, and more manueverable than a pair of backcountry skis. snow can only roll down a hill so fast
i mean this from the bottom of my heart.. GOALS!
BLDH insta stories fam!
A E S T A C I Y Weeey! :D hahah yo dude!
BLDH
ronaldos goals.
Have never seen this before - stunning in a big stones kind of way - thanks for sharing!
If I was 20 years younger I would be all over that. You guys rock .
This looks awesome, but honestly I think down the steeps, skiing is probably more of a thrill. But the fact that they can keep hitting those lines over and over in the backcountry, that's what really sets this apart.
Backcountry of McCall Idaho. "I don't want you to poach our lines." - Tool
Up towards Warren? Someone said West Mountain but I thought it looked more like north of Payette Lake
GnarlyBoots hahahahahahahahahahah yeah you right
Holly crap ! Everything about this sport and all the skills and the machines is amazing
That location has been in other videos. Not much of a secret now.
dude! that's the coolest s##t I've seen in a long time! hats off to ya ! I want a bike again. just to set er up like that! that looks like crazy fun! happy trails!
Dood I didn't even know this things exsisted. Coolest thing I've ever seen, I want one! Not sure where I'd ride it since I live in steam Dallas Texas, but still f bad ass!
Take your life in your hands. Give me a break. My friends and I were doing this sort of stuff in the back country of Montana on snowmobiles 45 years ago. I can remember being in the remote back country many miles from the nearest home in powder so deep and light the sleds could hardly make any headway. Winter camping in the back country was another favorite activity. I hate to break it to you guys but you are not breaking new ground. I do have to admit the snow bikes look like big fun. We used to hit the back country on motorcycles before the snow came and that was a lot of fun but the snow bikes look like a whole different experience.
Your grand ma's and grand pa's was doing the same 200-300 years ago. What are you trying to say there? Let them do what we are not able to do. They are ont the top of us
For how much time I spend snowboarding/snowmobiling I kinda feel dumb I haven't really seen these kinda bikes. They look fun as hell man, can just imagine rippin' some pow turns on one of these!!!
theyve only really become popular within the last few years. its a conversion kit you can get for any bike you like. its called a timbersled
Cool man, they look really fun for sure!
Ahhh, so much serenity
Wow this is awesome would love to see that more often👌🏼
RonRen, Awesome video bro. Cant wait to see you ride again.. Keep killin it

Damm, this is insane!
I remember this one game I played as a kid called _Sled Storm_, and one of the characters have sleds which actually are snowbikes!
"Because you might come poach our lines," because there isn't enough Earth for anyone outside your circle?
Very very very cool !!!!
Way Cool. Too much fun.
I miss living in Alaska! I used to know some of the dope spots to snowboard and bring the sleds out to.
"not gonna tell you our location" get over yourself.
you're just jelly of his lines, brah
leloodallasmultipass not really. i have my own areas to go to :)
***** I bet you poached them. Hence this guy's secrecy.
leloodallasmultipass haha yes that's exactly what i did. because i don't even ride in Idaho lol..... yet
***** YOU'RE PUTTING EVERYONE ON EDGE WITH YOUR POACHING
Can someone tell me what there light bar setups are.
Great filming
Those things are sick .didn't even know they excist.i was just browsing motorcycle vids n stumbled up on this. sorry yea I live under a rock. born n raised in miami,fl haven't even seen snow lmfao
I'm tryna poach some of there top secret lines in Idaho pfft. Shits definitely gnarly, but seriously these guys think they are way to cool.
so cool
Will Haggett ikr, they act like they invented a new sport. It's fucking snowmobiling 😂😂
New goal in life, poach this dudes lines
Out of the 1m views I bet 1000 people have a snow bike setup, and 10 of em have the ability to try to go to Idaho and ride the same place these dudes already did. And 0 will
Will Haggett ...they are THAT cool 😁
cant wait to see them start hitting cliffs on these things!
That look's like so much fun omfg would I ever like to try riding one for sure.Hell Ya my Canadian Brother's,awsome vid Cheer's
It's all fun and games until that front sled goes under a big branch or something.
+21st Century Exactly what I was thinking
+21st Century I don't recall that being a big deal with snowmobiles, wouldn't be any different with a bike.
they actually don't tuck the front end that much... I've grown up riding sleds and just last winter rode my first timbersled. they take a little getting used to but once you figure how they ride it's pretty easy. they don't sink in the snow that much, pretty much just float on the snow.
Yeah if you think about it the front of a bike doesn't have much weight on it
Not an issue I'd worry about. I'd be worried if the thing broke down being way the hell up there. What are you gonna do then? Cant exactly push it & just walking back without it to wherever your car is could be a dangerous proposition to say the least.
Only issue I ever had with sled ski's ever - from the 70's to now - is culverts. You mostly ride the back & the front has little weight on it.
Snowmobiling is hard enough...I can't imagine how hard that is...especially if you don't ride dirt bikes well...
This looks frign cool, curious how do they ride across open water??? Ive seen skidoos do it but not these beast
Notice that they spent very little time showing them going uphill...
AkMedMan1 😆
There's a reason snowmobiles have twice the engine displacement as the dirt bikes they're using...
Great video. What's your thoughts on a revers trike with the snow bike mod ? Would it work beater on trails ? I'm trying to shop for a toy for my micro camping kit. It's like van life. Les is more.
Very nice! 👍👍👍
SO DOPE
seen that mountain... friends have gone hunting around there. pretty place.
they should have done more pov shots
yes! I feel like a kid again watching this
amazing
Amazing! I didn't know such a thing existed. I want one. Where do I sign up?
A true professional athlete is motivated to help people find better spots and to enhance ones riding abilities. They are not out there trying to keep spots all to them self. It’s not your land nor your line.
RIP real snow...
sick!!
Très Impressionnant! Je te
How to keep those radiators from clogging with snow???

What a way to fuck up the powder...
That's awesome
How can 178 people dislike this video?
Now there needs to be a race. Up the mountain down the other side
anyone know when they go down those steep hills how fast they are going?
a million
it varies, they have a throttle bud.how fast are you going when you are riding?kind of an answerless, stupid question, sorry not sure what you wanted to hear?
probably around 45
The rear track acts as a brake. Not like a ski bike with no brakes.
how fucking cool is this!!! ^_^
What bikes these guys used? 450's or what? Does 450cc have enough power to get all out of this timbersled package?
Tanta roba
Anyone know the filming location? Nice spot.
wiredwebmaster they didn't disclose ot
song at 2'00''??
those things aren't very fun hill climbing but it's definitely a lot more fun going down hill than a sled. you can go through narrow gaps sleds can't and it's just a completely new feel
I'm willing to test one for you
hey guys i want in on this, what do i gotta do? I can ride, no doubt
Me my family and friend ride timber sled all winter we have a group of 12
