- With Eid just a couple of days away, the question about what is permissible to wear comes up. We are told to wear our best clothes on this special day. Does that include wearing different colourful hijabs other than black or a dark colour?
Looking at examples from the time of the Prophet (SAW) we see that there is nothing to suggest that women can only wear black hijab or clothing. There are narrations that show that women back then wore clothes other than black, such as red or green.
Shaykh Waleed Basyouni explains and answers the question.

Alhamdulillah it's not much about what you wear, it's more about how you wear it?, and why you wear it?. Is it to show off, to boast, to get attention or to be modest???? .
