About FNF
Friday Night Funkin' is a rhythm game in which the player must pass multiple "weeks", each usually containing three songs.[note 1] Each week, the player typically faces a different opponent.
During gameplay, the opponent will sing a pattern of notes which the player must mirror by pressing the arrow keys or WASD. At the bottom of the screen is a bar indicating how well the player is doing. The left side of the bar is red, representing the opponent. The right side is green, representing the player. Successfully hitting notes will increase the size of the player's bar, while missing notes causes the opponent's bar to expand. The player fails if the opponent's bar fills up the entire bar.
For each week, the player has the option to select one of three difficulties: Easy, Medium, and Hard. As difficulty increases, the speed of incoming arrows increases and the patterns of arrows become more complicated. The player's high score for each week on each difficulty is tracked and shown in the top corner of the week selection screen.

Personal, I like to think Yourself or Lookalike has nothing to do with a alternative timeline, rather that Lookalike comes back from being scrapped to finally sing in a real mod, making his creator, Divide, finally proud.

when he says "my way" i think he means like, what happened in his timeline, the way his timeline went down. And when he says "be proud of me" he must mean that he wants him to be proud of the decision he made, to go crazy and hysterical.
I thought he wanted to show our boyfriend that even with everything he went through, he's still moderately ok.
He actually said "be proud of me" because he wants herself/ gf be proud that he thinks he'll win the rap battle.

Yourself/Lookalike was a cancelled character of VS Sonic.EXE V3 before the mod got scrapped and in the fanmade V4 restored he gets a song named Eye-To-Eye where he's deemed BF.EXE instead of Lookalike, Lookalike was also one of the late Divide's characters

So there's, allegedly, more lore to silly Billy.
From what I have learned, the original creator Divide (Commonly referred to as divine) was an original modder for the sonic.exe mods and died in his sleep due to cancer. Someone found some older concepts of yourself. The team then made this mod referencing him which is such a great story here.
"I'll make you say how proud you are of me" Refers to divine being proud of what the team who made this did.
"So stay awake just long enough to see my way" Refers to divine dying in his sleep and not seeing the project done.
Is this a fact? No clue, I saw it off a comment, but making all of this up is crazy.

For who don't know the lyrics was actually made for divide (a dev who made sonic.exe mod that died)
"I'll make you say how proud you are of me" means that they(their team divide works for) hope "divide" is proud of them after his death "So stay awake just long enough to see my way, my way" means his team wanted divide to be alive/Awake to see their progress or achievements

There are 2 theories: One out of Universe & One In Universe. Out of Universe, it’s a sort of tribute to Divide, his creator. Who died in his sleep from cancer. In Universe, it’s directed to His Girlfriend, who if you remember, is dead

Theory i saw from another comment section:
Yourself was an angel whilst Herself was a demon, the relationship of the two was not approved by the gods so they seperated them by killing of Herself. This caused Yourself to rip his wings off as resentment and he also went insane to the point that he didn't care about his health/body. Though Herself has died, her spirit remained in Yourself's mic.
In the impact frame seen between the lyrics long and enough, you can see Yourself having some wings that have holes indicating how it looked like while he tries to rip it off and a red smoke which is Herself's spirit that lives in Yourself's mic.
(Note: This is just a theory, not canon/confirmed by the creators)
Edit: The wings also could be indicating the death of Divide, the creator of the Yourself.

A cool detail is that Yourself's arrows are on a mirror behind him. Considering BF's arrows are beind him as well, and we see the "world" throw a window, it's as if another player is controlling Yourself.

1. in the first cutscene, the microphone he has turns red alittle bit, showing that herself's spirit is in the microphone
2. in the offical video for the song, the thumbnail art says "She Calls Me Silly Billy" Which "She" is "Herself"
Here’s an interesting theory, once Yourself lost GF he started watching at least one episode of JJK. The spirit fragment of GF would’ve been inspired by a cursed spirit (most likely Rika) and that last pose he strikes looks awfully similar to how Satoru Gojo activates Hollow Purple.

It caused gf spirit to Waver being by his side in the lyric section. Bf being desperate to hear gf voice along with the line "Ill MAKE YOU SAY HOW PROUD YOU ARE OF ME"
which leaves me with two things to begin with. Its either bf was devastated to the point he Would do anything to rivive her. To hear her voice one last time. My second is gf never explicitly said "im proud of you bf" before her passing
So. If we were to include the scrapped work. Gf might be in fact trapped in bf microphone as a spirit. As she couldnt move on nor let nor did bf so she stayed with him by his side together forever.
Everyone's dropping this stuff about Billy but the way I see it, it's a clear competition between Modders and the Developer. BF being the original and Billy representing modders, where modders are going as far beyond the original to prove themselves. In the same was as modding, it's twisting everything to be dark and edgy but they're still reverent of the original.
Because they are the modders, it wouldn't be surprising if those feelings were produced in their work.
This goes for other mods, too, like Calamity mod vs. the original Terraria.
I mean, canonically, he just talks to himself to cope with that but cool theory.

Honestly when it comes to yourself turning small, in my opinion, i think its just him reminiscing about his past and in a sense, goes back to being somewhat of a goofster, (since size/character's look in fnf is potrayed as someone's mental state/overall personality)

Here is my theory for the lyrics in the yourself w/herself song.
The lyric part is yourself (tall boyfriend) recalling a memory.
The memory goes like this:
One day girlfriend dies and boyfriends becomes depressed.
Daddy dearest (feeling depressed himself since he was the one to inadvertently cause girlfriends death but won't admit it to anyone)
Decides to mentor boyfriend to help him become a great singer (to honor his daughter desires to do the same thing)
Boyfriend to prove his dedication to the daddy dearest, stop looking like a chibi and looks like his normal self (something daddy dearest appreciates but won't admit.)
The practice is tough as shown by boyfriend's appearance.
But no matter how much he tries, daddy dearest just won't praise boyfriend for his hard work.
Eventually boyfriend in the middle of a practice, snaps under the pressure of the stress of the harsh practice and depression of girlfriends passing that he sings about his desire of wanting to hear some kind of praise USING ACTUAL WORDS.
In that moment a daddy dearest is stunned by boyfriends use of ACTUAL WORDS and is than surprised to see a soul resembling girlfriend appear and disappear for a spilt second above boyfriend as he is singing.
After boyfriend finishes singing and calm down.
Both of them stare in silence about what just happened.
One thing about that we already established that boyfriend in general is already tall

Also... I could see an extended version of this fight, where the main timeline's GF shows up to support her BF by being there.
But that results in "Yourself" fumbling his lines after seeing some form of his GF again.
With his defeat being of him slumping over, with the mic falling to the ground. With him saying in defeat: "I just... Miss her so much.."
Followed by the mic emiting her spirit revealing to him directly that she is proud of him, and never left his side.
Bf is an angel and gf is a demon in the alternate universe. This is because when you look at the frame when the red aura (herself/alternate gf) appears when he is singing the lyrics, you can see black like wings on him. They also say that gf died because the heavenly wanted to kill gf for some reason, and bf got so damaged by this that yknow, he stopped taking care of himself. Though people do also say that gf just died due to a “accident” but I think I know the truth.
alternate gf and bf (herself and yourself) are together, and bf is a angel and gf is a demon (in the alternate world) and the heavenly ordered to kill gf, for some reason, and that’s when gf dies in an accident because the heavenly ordered it. Then, bf (yourself) got so damaged by this that he stopped taking care of himself hence that’s why he’s damaged.
I agree because yourself/lookalike does have black wings so yourself/lookalike, is probably a fallen angel.
Additionally, Divide, the maker of the mod, also died due to cancer. So technically, Yourself is talking to not just Herself, but also Divide. (Man, this mod actually breaks not just the 4th wall, but also Yourself is TALKING to his creator, WHILE the creator is in the afterlife!)
It’s so cool to see this mod blow up because my friend Sturm worked on it so I’m happy to see her succeed

It’s why he say “I’ll make you sayyy how prouddd you are off me so stay awake just long enough to see my way” so I have 2. theory herself is waiting and washing for yourself to make herself self proud 2 yourself is holding herselfs soul hostage trying to wanting to prove to herself that he can make her proud.
That’s not actually true since in the thumbnail (The unedited one which can be seen in the videos for the instrumental and vocals only) it says “She called me Silly Billy”. The nickname itself and the fact that Yourself seems to remember it as a good thing shows that the nickname is one for endearment and the fact it says “called” instead of call supports the idea that Herself is dead at this point (or at least no longer here)

Lookalike was a scrapped mod from back a year ago created by someone called Divide, Divide worked on Sonic Exe V2, creating a "fakersona" of sorts for BF, sadly Divide passed away, and Yourself's solo is actually a tribute to him.

Is crazy how this mod has brought back about half of the community. The way they implemented lyrics in an fnf song is truly amazing. This mod deserves the love it is getting and remember someone who was paid 0 bucks managed to make sth better than the 4 year old update we have been waiting for the original game (and ninjamuffin and his team has a lot of money from the kickstarter)
The thing I love about the lyric bit is that it makes sense in his lore with the fact he lost GF.

Is because its honoring divine/divide as well, how he passed and the dev team of this mod, idk if divine made this nod or even devved on it but he did dev on sonic exe v2, saw the sketches of tgese characters on divines desk. So they decided to make this song.

For some context on The Silly Billy Song, The Lyrics that yourself sings also refers to the Creator of “Lookalike”. Their Name was Divide. And Divide actually lost their Battle to Cancer in their Sleep. Which Refers to The Lyric “So Stay Awake”. Which is also the Reason why in the Original Sonic. EXE V2 Mod, Divide’s Part of the Credits was Colored Yellow to Honor Them.

It's still possible though that she was killed by Monster, in this timeline perhaps in week 5. It would explain why bf couldn't cope with it, because Monster uses fear and trauma as a weapon against him, and he'd never be able to get over this trauma.

Think I heard that Yourself's version of GF actually was able to like merge with his microphone or stick around to a degree in it so she is actually around and hears everything so when his solo happens he is singing directly to her even though he doesn't know it.
Yourself looks pretty cool, I've always wanted a more detailed evil BF mod, Yourself is exactly that, for a while, all I had seen was Evil BF, the shadowy one with a Red lemon Demon like face

I think that Yourself is singing to Herself, and you can seemingly hear her join in on his solo making it a duet briefly. You'll notice that afterwards there's only blue notes being played, as if she's passed on being proud of him and he of himself to finally let go. She can go to sleep.
There’s a guy named divide (or divine) he was sonic.exe(the fnf mod) mod and when alternate bf says "So stay awake just long enough to look my way" is a reference to divide dying from cancer in his sleep and someone found a drawing of a alternate looking bf which mourns hid death from cancer.

Too add on, Yourself is Churguny's take on Lookalike which is a character made by Divide (RIP) and Lookalikd had his own song Eye to Eye. Lookalike isn't involved in any Exe mod but people assumed since MarStar made his song/he looks like an Exe. They assumed that he was related to the original Sonic.Exe mod
