  • Gennaro Gattuso was known in World Football to be an aggressive and intimidating figure. His playing style was based on physicality, stamina, and determination. This is why it is so rare to see him being humbled. Of course, by no other than the legendary AC Milan icon and captain, Paolo Maldini. Watch how Maldini establishes his authority and shuts down Gattuso's troublemaking antics to secure the safety of their win versus Juventus.

    Oh my god I used to LOVE football back in the day, my childhood was great watching all those legends.
    Football now is just a few talented players scattered around a few clubs, and the clubs with money gets all of them.
    And no matter how talented they are, they arent at this level, those men were at war! It was a matter of life or death for them, the spirit the competition, Football was so so much better and fun to watch.

      now football is so shit. Not only Serie A, but all leagues.
      They just come up with logics and claims like football has evolved and football is more competitive now.
      But the fact is today football lacks world class players. Majority of the modern players are overhyped.

    • @jjrj8568
      @jjrj8568 Před 3 měsíci +9

      Yes, I agree; and you know why, because money back then had not ruined football yet; now any promising 18-21-year-old gets RICH overnight and the desire is just gone; the desire to lift a UCL with a major club, the desire to become a club legend. Money has ruined the ego, the desire, the hunger, the glory; now it's all about PSG, Man City, or any of the rich PL clubs...and even Arabian sugar-daddy clubs...that and FIFA ruining young players with multiple international matches...good 18 years-old youngsters playing in the NT, not the under-21...and getting severe long-term injuries...

      true, football in the 2000s was the golden era, especially watching serie a back then, i miss it so much. Now footballers are mercenaries and overhyped. A player like saka who is talented but overhyped is worth more than great right wingers like hagi, rivaldo, adriano, robben etc. I didnt watch football for a few years after the last generation retired, i couldnt watch the new kids that are so overvalued and overhyped.

    • @vigneshiyer123

      You liked it because you had good players from those era.
      Now your club has turn shit, doesn't invest enought in youth and the league doesn't have money.
      So you feel that the game is not competitive enough. Thats it.
      .
      There are lot of talented players around just that you need to start looking beyond milan, inter, juve (scandal boys)

    Gattuso, one of the hardest working players I ever saw. Loved watching him grow from Rangers to Italian national team. Last of the old school players who gave it 100% every game. He was all in… my kind of player.

    Man I miss the stars power Serie A had back then. 90’s to early 2000’s was definitely the golden era of Italian football. So many world class players and many great coaches. So technical and tactical at the same time.

      80s too. Maradona, Van Basten, Gullit, Platini, Zico, Cereso, Junior, Baggio, Baresi, among others. Italian league was the best in the world from the 80s to the mid 2000s. Pretty much what PL is now. But somehow it feels different. Football has changed, and today's stars don't look as shiny as they used to do in those decades
