Truth. It's also interesting that the distress signal-- which we can presume went out to any available hunter-- was only answered by Wolf and without hesitation. Hated he died. He deserved to live on into another movie.

Wolf at least died a warrior, and did his duty by killing the pred-alien abomination. It always seems the Yautja can have very short lifespans, based on their ritualistic tribal beliefs....He lived, fought, and survived many hunts, he knew his time was coming...at least he went down fighting!

I have been reading the comics and from what it seems, the Yautja have scientists and engineers, but they adopt the same lifestyle as theit full-blooded brothers/warriors. They fight just the same but are given a "duty" at birth, trained from then to specialize and master their chosen set of skill. Most likely from an Elder
from the little I know about the predator society, they are matriarchal. The women LEAD the culture with the males always vieing for status to impress a female for mating. As for what the Females actually do in the society, I dont know
Wolf was probably the most sympathetic Predator as I found myself rooting for him to complete his mission, and I couldn't care less about the humans.
For everyone wondering why Wolf took this job alone, remember, when he saw the original distress signal, he *ONLY* saw evidence of the Predalien bringing a Predator ship down. It wasn't until he arrived on the scene to examine further that he realized there was also an outbreak of Xenos to deal with on top of tracking and killing the Predalien.
Easy to figure had he known about Xenos in advance, he might've signaled for someone to follow him on the job, or at the very least, brought more traps and weapons with him to better handle the situation. The fact that he did everything that he did, essentially adapting on the fly to a double messy situation, just shows how much of an absolute badass he was.
And let's also keep in mind that he went into that final fight already fkd up from the fall he took in the elevator shaft. So there he is at about 50-60% health, most of his weapons used up, he goes up to the rooftop, spots his near full health Predalien target, strips away remaining layers of armor he had on (to probably keep from slowing him down), and was basically like "If I die here, I'm taking you with me. Let's go, mother fkr!"

I would gladly read an entire literary novel from Wolf’s point of view, about him as a Youngblood, making his first kill, how he acquired his scars and everything else that led up to him leaving Yautja Prime in order to clean up the Xenomorph infestation on earth.

I’m just tired of all the Yautjas being defeated in the end. They train hard and many are very old with hundreds of years of combat experience and advanced technology, yet they always meet their demise. As a Yautja fan, I get frustrated seeing that.
Scar was so close to making it in AVP. I know people don’t want to see Predators win against a group of humans since that would be a “bad” ending but what if they had a movie that has no humans and is predators vs like Engineers or like just aliens and they just had subtitles for the preds

I want an AvP movie from the perspective of the Predators.
Like the Predator campaign from AVP3 the game was pretty dope, going from an young blood predator, slaughtering countless Xenos and the Predalien then becoming the leader of his Clan. Then having the absolute balls to just straight up fly to the Xeno homeworld right after he just finished this mission/hunt.
Wolf was lit 🔥, legit my favorite part of the movie was watching him trying to trap and kill the aliens with his intelligent tech . He was one of the Most experienced Predators I’ve seen since the first movie . So yes Wolf is awesome .

Wolf was a shining light in an otherwise flawed movie
I saw Wolf as a grumpy old man, in fact I saw his emotions over the fallen comrades as akin to a father/grandfather mourning his fallen descendants. He is old, he is a cleaner, he has clearly been on countless hunts especially against Xenomorph's and lives ABOVE the rest of his clansmen. I am not surprised he died at the end because hunting is a young mans game, but he sure went out grand for an old man.
I watched that movie just to see Wolf. He had plenty honor to spare in my book cleaning a potential hive and fighting the Predalien without help is no small feat. Killing that sheriff was necessary and skinning him as a warning was aiding his mission lowering human involvement and the hive size. Anyone who said he wasn't as elite as they built him up to be must have seen a different movie Wolf killed about 20 Xenomorphs and the Predalien. The Xenomorphs alone are hard enough to kill then stopping a possible outbreak of abominations from taking root. How much more honor does he need to earn to be elite?

rOb lOw alien vs predator 2 the old pc game? I believe that predators name was prince. Dark was from AVP 2010 (avp 3). Either way both killed a predalien, but prince I believe might've killed 2 or 3.
Buuuuut wolf went hand to hand with a predalien praetorian (more or less) with less gadgets than both, which is pretty friggin badass.

Titus I slightly disagree, wolf is one of the TWO best things to come from Requiem with the other being the predalien itself. That predalien was more intimidating than 95% of the other xenomorphs that have been on screen in any of the movies with the only ones that come close being first archeron queen (aliens) and the Antarctic queen from the first avp movie
Say what you will about these two movies (AvP, and Requiem) I still enjoy them for what they were. On a separate note, this video helped explain a few things on the movie that I know bugged many fans, kinda me too. Great job!

Ian White indeed did the Yautja creature form justice. His movement had finesse and it wasn’t like that of the Celtic Yautja. The Celtic Yautja looked too human where as Ian Whites movement was more otherworldly.
Wolf is the only reason I ever watch that movie. Though, it would have been nice if he won.
I mean, he did win, he just didn't live to see that he did. All xeno traces were washed away by the nuclear bomb, and so was the abomination.
I dunno, I just want to see a Yautja survive for a change.

Actually he lost big time. Humanity got their hands on Yautja technology. Plus, had the humans not nuked the town, it would have been far more than a single plasma pistol humanity would have found.
I loved Wolf. He was a great character and deserves the love of the fans.

Yeah... AVP1 plot is not that bad it had more focused on the Alien and Predator in the latter half of the movie but lack in gore while AVP2 was horrible and the only saving grace is how badass Wolf is.

Like everyone else I loved Wolf, a shame he was wasted on such a shitty movie and he shouldn't have been killed off.
My theory regarding Wolf is linked to his name. There are two terms I linked with Wolf: Lone Wolf and Papa Wolf.
Possibly, Wolf belonged to a generation of clan members. However in addition to his honor, Wolf had a loyalty and love for his brothers making him the Papa Wolf, a person who will go extreme lengths to protect family. However at some point during a Xenomorph Hunt, possibly all of his brothers were killed leaving Wolf the only survivor, the Lone Wolf but haunted over what happened to his family.
It may even be likely he took the Cleaner job so that he could distance himself from the clan members, older or younger. When Wolf heard about the incident on Earth, he went there and found the remains of the crew, Despite this, Wolf honored the fallen and shown he hasn't lost his soul and was on a path of vengeance to eliminate the Xenomorphs.
Why you ask Wolf did dishonorable things? He valued family over honor.

It could also be the fact the Predalien's destruction is absolute priority, hence why some of his actions didn't adhere to the code. The Predalien appears to be an abomination that the predators can't or won't tolerate, perhaps this is because at some point in their past such an abomination wiped out or nearly wiped out a colony or clan due to its predator dna giving it insight of the species. It could be possible that should Wolf's clan discover some of his technology not only wasn't destroyed but recovered by humans, they would utilize weaponry reserved only for warfare to ensure their technology remains secret.
Nicely put. And possibly a spot-on interpretation. I can't remember where I read it, but I'm told something happens to male Yautja as they get older, assuming they live that long... For some reason, the hunt begins to lose its luster. They become more contemplative and tolerant, towards those of their own race and even other species like humans. They begin to adopt more unorthodox methods and reject social normalities. Interestingly enough, it is an Elder who is the first to recognize that Alexa has been blooded and gift her with a token of respect. If Papa Wolf was older, it would make sense that he was over the hunting thing in the conventional sense. Cleanup work allowed him to detach, taking the jobs no one else wanted yet were vital for the survival of clans throughout the galaxy.
I liked the character. He was all business.

Jacob Lahmeyer I would say that wolf is probably the most skilled predator seen so far in the predator movies (including in crossovers) since he was facing the challenge of preventing an infestation and killing a predalien ON HIS OWN. I will say this though, Scar (the host of the predalien) was pretty awesome too

as a predator fan to speak only on the aspects involving wolf in this movie, I personal loved his representation. the makes he had to choose from, a new ship, the scared face, the new weapons, wolf was not just on a hunt. plus i always liked the design of the mask in predator 2

Indeed. The Wolf is one of my favorite predators ever. So much in fact, I recently bought the 2.0 heavy weaponry version of Wolf from Hot Toys. And it is amazing. Worth every penny.

The deputy ran. Wolf considered that a coward’s move. Yautja only skin their victims alive if they aren’t brave enough to face them, they prove unworthy. By skinning him alive, Wolf is showing the Deputy’s shame.
Now that's the kind of predator we want to see in the next movie, not a 10 feet thing.
Wolf Predator is my favorite predator. He is first on my list, and I commend him as an honorable and one of the best legendary predators to have been created.

you are correct on all counts! Wolf is also referred as the "cleaner" predator, similar to the cleaner in La Femme Nikita. He is the equivalent of a SEAL /special forces guy. The predator tasked with special, low profile missions. A lone wolf who works best alone, due to his superior experience and skill. An excellent job done by the actor portraying him and, yes, the films major component.

I love in depth stories and explanations especially this. I thought it was interesting how the predator covered his tracks and evidence. It opened my awareness to how real aliens hide their existence from us. I love everything about aliens, predator, Star Wars, Ancient Aliens, you name it. Anything is possible and I'm skeptical about some things yes but very open minded as well, especially when it comes to human origins and the universe

Wolf was one badass Predator,he probably was a Elite or a Honored judging by his mask,but too young to be an Elder.I belive he was some sort of "Special Unit" to the Predators,If anything goes wrong he would be the one to solve it.His mask had many runes that shows his feats,but he also had a armory,many masks,his own "war room" and also his own ship,he probably was well know by the Yautja society and, probably,by the King himself since he had a "Royal Combistick" in his wall,so he was a very skilled warrior and probably the King's "Special Agent".
He probably thought that he wouldn't allow any weapon to stole his right to kill the Abomination,so he disarmed himself before fighting against the Predalien.But he could also had thought "I ain't need this shit to beat your sorry ass back to the hugger where you came from you ugly son of a bitch. Now,come on!".

Pulp Fiction !! Not there to go hunting or on a vacation, only there to clean up the mess. His skills are good because he showed us how another character named “MacGyver” was just like him.
Both were able to take a shit storm, then bring out a rainbow of pure awesomeness ! to complete the challenge. No way to contact back home, no support team for help, his ship was messed up, he was physically messed up, odds were hugely frustrating against him, upper brass was not 100% sure how many he would be going up against when they sent him.
Now if they only sent the Predator that was all jacked up on steroids in the first place, he could have been back in time for breakfast the next day lol. One is a highly trained clean up crew soldier, with all the 007 James Bond toys. While the other soldier was a juiced up highly trained Terminator, with only 5 things on his “Arnold/ Commando” mind 🤨 !

Wolf is my second favorite Yautja, second only to the mighty Scarface.
Scarface was a badass. Conceptually i like Wolf more, but as feats go, none stand up to Scarface. Hell, surviving his 100 year exile with just a spear is enough, but then there's the whole rest of the game

On the Predator aspect, this was a really good film. Showing the Predator as the methodical and disciplined hunter they are.

I do believe that Wolf was both an expert and veteran hunter. Though he survived numerous hunts, other factors were in play that made this 'Black-Op' hunt far from ordinary and more difficult and challenging for him. Wolf shows us that he is adaptable, and able to implement strategy and cunning in how to lure and fight one of the most dangerous creatures that existed.
I would love a movie just following a predator and their culture. If he's not and elite that's cool if they show that the predators have different jobs like clean up crew, ecologist etc besides just hunting.
Wolf is definitely my favorite of the hunters. Next to the Jungle Hunter I believe he had the most honor and was probably the most skilled based on how many Xenomorphs he fought in the film his age his weapon usage everything about him told a story that this was not an ordinary predator. I really wish he had not died because the character is that great in the Mythos. he has my favorite name and probably one of my favorite weapons which is the whip and one of the cooler looking masks.
I'd say that's why I did not like this movie as much. I did not know the elite predator known as Wolf until this video, but now that I can put a name to the face here goes. Wolf was an awesome predator! I totally get that he was there to clean up he mess and not hunt. I would have rather seen something of an ending where he had lived. My reason is his pistol cannon that the humans had used and taken which then was taken by the special forces. I'd of liked to seen him materialize, the spec op guys then hand over the weapon to him. That would have shown how much our world actual knows about the predators leaving it open for that final scene when the corporation was saying they'd handle the technology since no of the world was ready for it.
Oh! And one finally thought I had about Wolf's throne room. Those masks on the wall? Those were trophies of a sort. Not killing other predators but like with our military, bringing the bodies home, the predators world he kept the mask of all the predators he avenged.
Wolf as a one Yautja forensic investigator, game warden, conservation officer, and gate keeper of Yautja technology was the best aspect to this movie. His characterization without need of dialogue was brilliantly depicted by the actor, writer, and director in this movie & elevates it to something north of watchable. The human parts to the story were weak, but the Wolf portion of the story gave of something new in depicting new areas of Yautja society.
As a Predator Fan and an Alien Fan I can say that Requiem was WAY better than the first AVP since this approach had a Seasoned Yautja that knew how to deal with Xenomorph's other than Scar and his fallen brothers. Yes the Pred-alien was overpowering him I mean it's a Hybrid with both strengths combined. At least Wolf Manage to deal a killing blow before getting impaled. I disagree because it's bad. The only good part of Requiem is Wolf Vs Predalien. AVP has a better script and better actors. Also, Wolf is an elite compared to those 3 rookies.

If you've seen the first AVP you know that there were 3 Predators and they had more trouble one-on-one fighting an alien then wolf had fighting a whole nest plus a pred-alien. I'll give Kudos for defeating a Queen by the previous predator (Scar) but he had to inlist the help of a human and she devised the strategy to win. with that being said, Wolf would be ranked amongst the high elight!

Wolf was a badass motherfucker, one of my favorite predators of all time and he is the only reason I like AVPR.
I think it's implied that their helmets/masks record everything they do to make sure they're following the code
So he really recorded him squaring up against an abomination and at least died letting the others knew it was contained.

He was a grizzled veteran for sure. Just based on how much trouble the young hunters had with just one alien in the first AVP and wolf literally made taking two on at once look like child's play. He had multiple plasma casters wich we know hunters need to earn through dangerous and trivial tasks. Among other weapons. And o don't think the task of cleaning up and hiding the secrets of the perfect creatures would be left to an average Joe. It's arguabley the most important task that could be bestowed I would imagine.

Considering the distress signal went to him and him alone, I think there is no doubt that Wolf was at the very least a full-fledged and well regarded hunter. In the army there was something called QRF (quick reaction force), basically when shit hit the fan, there's a at the ready force in place to supplement or aid whoever needs it, this is a duty that is rotated among platoons, squads, etc. This is what Wolf was: a QRF predator on duty, except, he was ONE! Think about that, one predator to clean up the mess that a few couldn't handle, if we're keeping with the QRF analogy, you typically have enough troops in a QRF to support a number of operations going on. So Wolf was thought to be enough to support, or take care of a mission that a few predators failed in. Either he's regarded as super bad ass, or they didn't think (or know) the xenomorph debacle was that serious.

I think Wolf was great. He added some much needed depth to the Yaujta. there is all the lore from books, games, and comics showing this I guess. But this was the first time a yaujta was shown as more than a beastial killing machine with a few token hints of personality on screen. I agree, he wasn't being cruel, he knew what would happen if the xenomorphs got away. the good of the many out weighing the good of the one. Also, I think he was less a king or elder and more likely a kind of game warden. Earth is a home to a worthy prey species afterall.
