Echogenecity is the brightness of the image. It shows how bright or dark an image is. It can vary from very bright to jet black. But Echotexture refers to the homogeneity/uniformness of the image. It can be homogenous or heterogeneous.

Portal vein has hyperechogenic walls in comparison to hepatic vein.
