It is one the most traditional and popular things that people in China and other parts of Asia eat for breakfast, normally as an accompaniment for rice congee. This recipe only used six simple ingredients, no eggs, no milk and it is suitable for vegans. Follow this simple home-made method to make fluffy and crispy Youtiaos that you can enjoy with family and friends.
    油條在香港也叫油炸鬼。它是中國和亞洲其他地區人們早餐常吃的最傳統和最受歡迎的東西之一,通常作為粥的配料。這個食譜只用了六種簡單的原料, 沒有雞蛋, 沒有牛奶, 適合純素食者。按照這個簡單的自製方法, 在家也可以做出蓬鬆酥脆的油條與家人和朋友一起享受。
    Ingredients材料 - Makes 6 sticks (做 6 件):
    All purpose/Plain flour (中筋麵粉)250g
    Salt (鹽) 3g
    Baking powder (泡打粉) 5g
    Baking soda (蘇打粉) 1g
    Oil (油) 15g
    Water (清水) 145g (adjust depends on your flour water absorbency 視乎你麵粉吸水率進行微調)

    Is this double acting baking powder type? Is it better if use bread flour?

      No, it's just standard baking powder (can't get double acting type in the UK). Using bread flour would affect the texture (more dense and doughy). Thank you for your support. 😊
