  • Greg McElroy and Matt Barrie go through the biggest winners from a wild month in College Football. We know Michigan is the biggest winner with the Natty, but the guys tell you why Ohio State, Penn State, USC were also big winners in the Big Ten. Plus, with Saban retired, Kirby Smart and Georgia are now the clear No. 1 program, while LSU, Texas and everyone else in the SEC took a big sigh of relief with a different outlook on the future. Also, Florida State and Miami took big transfers in January which makes them BIG winners.
    0:00 Intro
    3:00 The rest of the SEC are winners after Nick Saban retired
    6:30 What will Alabama look like under DeBoer

    14:00 Ohio State and Ryan Day just continue to get better
    17:30 Oregon Ducks keep Dan Lanning and set up nicely for 2024 and beyond
    20:45 The guys debate if USC had a big January
    26:00 Penn State looking to capitalize without divisions
    27:30 Florida State locking up Mike Norvell was huge for the future
    29:30 The ACC had a good January because it’s more competitive and that's a good thing

    35:00 Louisville Cardinals and Jeff Brohm aren’t going anywhere

    Oregon is one of the big winners in January - added a top notch CB, Jabbar Muhammad, to an already great recruiting/transfer class - ready to challenge for a Big Ten title especially with getting tOSU in Autzen and then into the playoffs in Lannings third year...

    These teams will benefit from Sabans retirement: Georgia, LSU, Texas, OU, Tex A%M, UT, AU, FLA. They will benefit some now that they don't have to contend with Saban on the recruiting trail. The rest won't benefit much because their recruiting isn't good enough for it to matter.

    You forgot the biggest loser is Florida State. The only undefeated Power 5 team left out of the playoff because of the feud between Disney/ESPN and Florida Gov DeSantis over the WOKE BS. And was sent to the Toilet Bowl with a 3rd string team. Pathetic.

    • @skipgumphrey9579
      @skipgumphrey9579 Před 20 dny +12

      They were left out because they were NOT one of the four best teams. A team’s win loss record does NOT mean they are better. Case in point was another undefeated team that was left out of the CFP for the SAME REASON, and that team was Liberty. They got destroyed by a 7 win team in their bowl game. As to FSUs third string, that was their own players decision. Nobody put a gun to their heads, they decided to quit on their team all on their own…

      We also had 3 that decade, but can easily claim 66 as well, was before my time, but my dad remembers it, but the 1970s was probably Bamas best, its technically equal to Sabans statistically, but what Saban did was another level, but yeah, I try not to have favorites, in terms of the championship seasons during my lifetime, and of the 9, 1992 was such a classic, because everyone said Miami was going to shred us.. that ended Miami's Golden Era.
