- Greg McElroy and Matt Barrie go through the biggest winners from a wild month in College Football. We know Michigan is the biggest winner with the Natty, but the guys tell you why Ohio State, Penn State, USC were also big winners in the Big Ten. Plus, with Saban retired, Kirby Smart and Georgia are now the clear No. 1 program, while LSU, Texas and everyone else in the SEC took a big sigh of relief with a different outlook on the future. Also, Florida State and Miami took big transfers in January which makes them BIG winners.

Great breakdowns guys. RTR
Hook’em 🤘🤘🤘
Washington had the oldest team in college football, including 10 6th year covid seniors; just under half of their starters were 6th year seniors.
And yet yall got dominated lol, you were all over social media boosting texas over washington as a lock and saying strength of schedule crying lol
@@setalight7290 Says the Oregon fan! 🤣🤡
@@Mark-zx2bq says the texas clown who played himself lol
@@setalight7290 interesting, since everything you claimed I did was done in regards to Oregon in the week leading up to the Pac12 Championship. 🤣🤡
Go Ducks!!! January was great for Oregon and will continue to get better moving forward. Bases covered as far all the elements to be a perennial powerhouse in the B10 and a constant program in the playoffs. Lanning has it going on in Oregon!!!
Oregon is one of the big winners in January - added a top notch CB, Jabbar Muhammad, to an already great recruiting/transfer class - ready to challenge for a Big Ten title especially with getting tOSU in Autzen and then into the playoffs in Lannings third year...
Won’t acknowledge Oregon as big ten until they kick off but no problem with Texas as SEC. ESPN your bias is showing
yep - still ESecPN (even more now with the new TV deal) - Big Ten is coming...
@@musicbyTaraRosecoming for nothing they suck at sports
@@musicbyTaraRoseatleast they got hockey 😂
Even with the new coaches at USC, it will still take them a year or two to get up to speed.
They should make Crying Day water bottles with the OSU logo on it and sell them everywhere in Michigan but definitely Columbus too.
Come on Greg give me your honest opinion on Arkansas. We're toast aren't we? Our recruiting today (2-6-24) shows we had the 39th ranked class in the country, 15th in the SEC on rivals. Just one ahead of Vanderbilt! It doesn't look good does it?
These teams will benefit from Sabans retirement: Georgia, LSU, Texas, OU, Tex A%M, UT, AU, FLA. They will benefit some now that they don't have to contend with Saban on the recruiting trail. The rest won't benefit much because their recruiting isn't good enough for it to matter.
Nebraska is ill make it to #12 just edging themselves for the playoffs
Alabama has only had like 5 losing seasons since Bear Bryant
cool
Bama had only a 65% winning percentage in the years between Bryant and Saban.
Probation twice is why. They were pretty good in the 20s 30s and so on before the Bear…
I think u guys should address or at least discuss the reason jeff hafley left Boston College for the Packers. Those comments are not good for college football and imo makes the sport look bad and shows the current state isn’t good
Let's see if DeBoer can recruit Texas anywhere close to what Saban did.
Not sure if anyone but Sark can recruit Texas as well as CNS did…
RTR
@@skipgumphrey9579 Saban did it well for many years.
Very true my friend. Coach Sark appears so far to be following the same building instructions with Texas. I’ll admit to not knowing/watching y’all much before, but now you’re part of the SEC so I’ll be watching all your games and rooting for you on occasion as well…
RTR
@@skipgumphrey9579 Cheers!
Blake Nichelson is a LB at FSU from California that y'all will know very well by this time next year 💯🍢
Go ducks
Michigan has lost to Ohio State eight straight years and would of been blown out in 2020 during the Covid year what Michigan did last season good for them the last 10 seasons Ohio State is 7-3😂 against Michigan and since 2001 Michigan has only beaten Ohio State 5 times the big ten still goes thru Columbus
First Time Since Yours Truly was in the 11th Grade High School Junior, Nick Saban is not on the Sideline.
Utah has a bunch of California defensive players they developed into real tough players. 😅
Alabama is a Top 2 Program of all time.. this guy is clueless.
Go Blue!
golden era of Texas Football?!? 4 Championships Ever?!? When were they Golden ?
They did make it to 2 national championships within a 5 year span probly should have been 3 . I'd say thats pretty great. From 04-2011 Texas was prominent.
@@jurado6335Always a bridesmaid never the bride, dont feel bad Georgia doesnt have very many trophies either. Just do like Auburn does, instead of a Trophy Case, use LED Video Board and pretend like yall got em.
The Longhorns won their first three national championships in 1963, 1969 and 1970 through the National Polls. I think this would qualify as a Golden Era.
We also had 3 that decade, but can easily claim 66 as well, was before my time, but my dad remembers it, but the 1970s was probably Bamas best, its technically equal to Sabans statistically, but what Saban did was another level, but yeah, I try not to have favorites, in terms of the championship seasons during my lifetime, and of the 9, 1992 was such a classic, because everyone said Miami was going to shred us.. that ended Miami's Golden Era.
I remember that game ..... I was pulling for Gene Stallings and the Alabama team that game.
@@andysworld47
OSU IS AMERICAS TEAM NOT MICHIGAN
Wrong. OSU, Michigan, ND, Bama, USC are all hated by everyone outside of their fan bases. America’s team is someone who can be rooted for by everyone
😂😂 not even close
I agree.. America's team to hate....
Mario can't develop said talent and his on the field coaching makes Cane fans vomit in their mouths 🤷🏻♂️... Nobody in the country fears Miami, especially if it's at their "Home" stadium 🤣
Lmao Bama was heavily pursuing norvell clown
pretty sure the REAL job offers and not just kicking of the tires were DeBoer and Norvell.
Why is everyone on UTs nuts, they gotta do better than just 1 year, they gotta consistently do it Matt, joke.
Um because their nuts are looking good and these guys need to talk about something, it is their job. Your concern shows real fear and rightly so.
@@mikedennis8109well they were in the Big-12. not the SEC
Sark has improved our record every year he’s been here, we just made the playoffs with only 2 loss combined of 10 points on neutral sights one being a rivalry game vs OU, we have our starting QB coming back and our 2nd is manning I think it’s clear why everyone’s is one our nuts
truth hurts, yall are still mid until yall consistently prove yall can win 10 games a year. @@kelshotss
Sec, "land of the coat tail riders". This will be sorted out soon enough.. No more cupcakes in the spring and mid november for you sec chanters.@@GoatedAtNFS
Texas?! HA! Just like Matt McC shooting your load too early! LSU is the winner here with Saban’s retirement, NOT Texas!
Fear doesn’t look good on you. Sorry you’re scared of Texas 🫤
You forgot the biggest loser is Florida State. The only undefeated Power 5 team left out of the playoff because of the feud between Disney/ESPN and Florida Gov DeSantis over the WOKE BS. And was sent to the Toilet Bowl with a 3rd string team. Pathetic.
so a NY6 is the toilet bowl now huh? LOL. you’re a joke who doesn’t understand competition
They were left out because they were NOT one of the four best teams. A team’s win loss record does NOT mean they are better. Case in point was another undefeated team that was left out of the CFP for the SAME REASON, and that team was Liberty. They got destroyed by a 7 win team in their bowl game. As to FSUs third string, that was their own players decision. Nobody put a gun to their heads, they decided to quit on their team all on their own…
RTR
Not the case gump
@@skipgumphrey9579if it was about “4 best” then Georgia should have been in the playoffs. Any power ranking in the country, including all the sports books who make a living by maintaining power rankings, had Georgia as a top 4 team.
They were left out because they were soft and their team sucked. Georgia proved that
Fear the spear!! Go noles!!🍢🍢🍢
