I know so many people talk about this, but the BF in this mod was made by Divide, who died from cancer (as far as I know). He was working on the Sonic.exe mod, so that’s probably why there’s so much references to it.
Also, that BF is an alternate version of him, who got into an unknown accident that warped his body and killed his version of GF.
I'm pretty sure his cause of death is unknown.

0:09 Yourself is a character made by Divide, the previous director of VS Sonic.EXE before his life was unfortunately cut short. Yourself comes from an alternate timeline, where Herself (Girlfriend) died in an accident of some kind, and Yourself tries to cope by continuing to sing songs about her, hence the lyrics. At 5:18, Herself is actually visible for a moment, being the red flare around Yourself.
6:31 To my knowledge, the entirety of Garn47 is just a meme game, with no real lore surrounding it. The same can be said for the bonus songs that are unlocked from playing the game.
24:46 Lord X is a character who has been in multiple mods, so I’ll keep this one short. He’s from a reimagining of the original Sonic.EXE game called Sonic PC Port.
35:00 No More Innocence is a Japanese spirit who possesses cartridges of Sonic the Hedgehog, and feasts on the innocence of the children that play it. Considering Daddy Dearest is the playable character, it is assumed that NMI got to Girlfriend.
43:06 Tethudia is the SpongeBob version of Starved, an EXE of Eggman whose goal was to consume the Mobians. Plankton assimilated Squidward into capturing residents of Bikini Bottom and turning them into food. When SpongeBob was captured, Mr. Krabs comes to the Chum Bucket to investigate, and encounters Tethudia. At the end of the song, the Chum Bucket collapses, presumably killing them both.
47:17 I believe there isn’t any lore for this song. It’s just a fun little bonus.

Just so you know none of the songs in Hit Single are really connected. They were all just composed by the director who previously composed them for previous mods, but they got canned for whatever reason. So he decided to put them all here

Although, I haven't watched the video yet, by just skimming around I can actually see you played Garn47, which makes me happy cause most people skipped over it and missed out on some bonus songs, although you didn't explore Garn47 too much, I still appreciate that you gave it a try, as most people turned away, and missed out on Car's little song, and never got to become one of his 47 friends, but you did :D

From what I've heard, it comes from an AU where NMI (No More Innocence) kidnapped Girlfriend back when she was a child, and now is tormenting Daddy Dearest how he's nothing without his daughter.
Nevertheless, this mod is incredible. I love Car, precious little thing

Lyrics are fire as usual. Also the corridor is a Sonic Generations Reference. Also, the creator died of Cancer in his Sleep, hence the „Stay awake“ Lyrics. His Lore is, that his GF died and now he‘s alone, bur she‘s still in the microphone, which is the Red Smoke you see in the lyrics part. That’s why it’s called „Hit Single“ cause on one hand, it’s only one song and on the other, Billy may be Successful, but he’s all alone.

If anyone is wondering, no, Yourself/Silly Billy is not an .exe, he's a BF from and AU where GF(Herself) dies, and he can't cope with it, so he becomes unkempt. If anyone is wondering why he is so tall, BF is canonically 7 FEET TALL. He's an actual giant. The reason BF and GF are portrayed as short is because it's representing their goodheartedness and innocence, but with Yourself, all that innocence is gone.
For Darnell Wet Fart, I’m pretty sure there is no special mechanic, and you just need to click more accurately.

thought i'd give a lil rundown on the lore behind a couple of the songs (everything except those unlocked via garn47 and Darnell Wet Fart since i don't remember lol)
Trichael - this takes place at the end of Lord X's lifespan in his current vessel, where he sings of the joy he experiences from death as he moves onto a new vessel/body (yes, its the same evil guy as in Joyous)
Joyous - this is a confrontation between Lord X and JoeDoughBoi (the irl creator of Lord X), whom Lord X eventually kills as part of his plan to enter the real world. This will be elaborated on further in a future update
Silly Billy - this is some encounter between Yourself (the name of the spooky tall bf) and bf- Yourself isn't necessarily malicious, but comes from an alternate timeline where he lost gf (known as Herself in this timeline), slowly distorting him into the weird tall guy you see in the song. The lyrics serve as Yourself's tribute to Herself, and she even appears in spirit during the cutscene, as well as being a backing vocalist for some of the lyrical part of the song
Fakebaby - this song is Daddy Dearest's confrontation with No More Innocence (sonic creepypasta guy), who had kidnapped gf as an infant as revenge against Daddy Dearest (his demonic relative in this continuity), whom had previously trapped him in a TV, hence why the song starts in the tv (with the screen filter thingy) and finishes with him crawling out of the TV
The thing about Lord X in "Joyous" is that he actually looks old - like greying hairs.
Also in the second phase he seems to be in pain as well as covering his face, perhaps struggling to keep that body's form going.
He also seems to be in a hurry but at the same time cant help himself from feeling a little nostalgia.
It's a very different depiction of Lord X I've seen.

I like how as soon as BF sees a 6 ft tall slender man doppelgänger monster, his first instinct is to start singing
In universe, Yourself and BF look identical, but we perceive BF as small due to him being in a chibi art style, to represent his immaturity (this was confirmed by the original FNF devs).
Yourself is a much more emotionally mature version of Bf, despite being the same age, hence why he has the same proportions as the other humans from FNF like Daddy Dearest and the backup singers.

yourself was made by divide originally before he died. another person found his sketch and decided to make a mod of it. hence why shen yourself sings it says “ill make you say how proud you are so stay awake” hinting that if divide was awake he”d be proud and that he cant die yet hence the “stay awake” part

Yourself is a version of BF from an alternate universe, where yourself and his au GF, whom goes by the name of _herself,_ got into an accident (presumably sleep or slow death related.) that killed her.
Yourself gains a lot of trauma from this. Since he isn't taking it well, he actually hasn't been taking much care of his body and himself, hence yourself looking all the more raggedy.
It's actually considered canon that yourself is a far more accurate depiction of BF, which implies just how tall BF really is. He's likely sized down to fit more comedic scenes, such as the cut scenes in Stickman vs. FNF.
The song _Silly Billy_ is a tribute to Divide.
And one last thing. Silly Billy actually contains a reference to _Subterfuge,_ another song in the hit single mod.

I think ghost tapping at all in “Darnell Wet Fart” counts as misses and increases the fear meter, causing you to die. If you DIDN’T tap early there, you’d be fine I think. Either that or you need to do better in the early part of the song. Idk🤔👍🏻

The Sonic character in Trichael and Joyous is Lord X, he's from Joe Dough Boi's Sonic.exe fan game called "Sonic PC Port". He was originally created for the LuigiKid Creepypasta Challenge where he reviews Sonic.exe fan games. Unlike X who is just Sonic with black eyes and red pupils. Lord X has a more feral appearance resembling a wolf. The giant Mario after going through a pipe is MX from Taco Games's "Mario PC Port/Mario '85", where you play as Lucas trapped in Luigi's body, being the player 2 with MX.
This is the best part of my day so far 😁

Having never seen this mod, nothing could've prepared me for the absolute whiplash of going from the absolute banger that was Silly Billy to Garn47 💀. Pretty cool mod, glad to see you play it! Also for Darnell Wet Fart, I think the bar on the right was broken? Either that or you were missing something about the mechanic.

A lot of people don't realize that technically in a way, Garn47 is the real mod, since the lore of Hit Single Real is implied by garn to be a big creepypasta; you're some kid or young adult who's trying to play some shitty game on you're XP era Windows computer, but other games start appearing on your computer that weren't there before (this is why the freeplay songs unlock, plus the pig minigame)
Honestly, Garn47 is my favorite .EXE take so far since it's by far the most realistic iteration of Sonic.EXE, where it's not that exe is just playing a sonic game, but rather that he's specifically playing with the user, and the hard-drive of the computer that likely has tried to run Sonic PC-Port.

hiya merg, i had an idea for a video. Since it seems your getting back into Friday night funkin, i think it would be cool for you to revist the Doki Doki takeover mod. It got a update which adds a lot of cool new stuff, like changing the prologue week and adding new songs. Plus the creators made a separate mod called doki doki takeover bad ending, which has more cool stuff. Its just a suggestion, but you seemed to really enjoy it last time you played it and i think youd have fun revisitng it! :D

So... the way I understand it (Based on what I could gather myself) is this "mirror BF" a BF from an alternate universe where he lost GF through an accident. The reason he looks like this is... because that's how he actually looks.
BF is a tall and lanky guy apparently and is drawn that short and child-like to show his innocence (According to the FNF creators or smth), so this is a BF who lost said innocense. And he looks that rough because... he lost the most valued person in his life, so of course he stops caring for himself.
And the lyrics are sad, because you can understand them in two ways: Either Yourself (How this alternate BF is named) talking to his original creator, who passed away due to cancer, wanting him to be proud of what he (yourself) became, or it could be Yourself talking to his GF. Alternatively could it also be Yourself talking to BF, trying to get approval and praise from the only thing that remains of himself: His self-worth/reflection.
It makes the song really powerful, especially as you can see this pained smile during the lyrics where he is clearly close to tears.
The title also has a sad explanation: Based on the thumbnail of the song on YT is this apparently the nickname Yourself's GF gave him (It has "She called me" in the middle between "Silly Billy"). So "Silly Billy" is actually refering to Yourself.
Also, some other details you can find:
- The mirror reflection at the start having roughed up hair, eyebags and open shoe laces
- Yourself's hand shaking during the lyriks until herself (Name of his GF) appears as ghost, hugging him.
- Herself joining in on the vocals after she appeared briefly
- The notes of Yourself being inside the mirror behind Yourself (Which ironically enough mirrors your notes being behind BF)
- There is only 1 single yellow note (2 if you count Yourself's notes too)
You should make it so every fnf mod you play, you show the death animation too. It'll be cool to see your reaction of all of them
