I think she knew it but didn't want to publicly confirm it because it will give kelvin ideas and plans about the show and will.
She wanted to shock everyone especially him
She didn't want him to be prepared. I guess that is part of the punishment.

No this was 2019. She last appeared on her show in July 2021. She still had 2 seasons left.
