    Lyrics:
    It's twelve o'clock, and it's a wonderful day.
I know you hate me, but I'll ask anyway.
Won't you come with me to a place in a little town?
The only way to get there's to go straight down.
There's no bathroom, and there is no sink.
The water out of the tap is very hard to drink,
    Very hard to drink.
    You wait 'til tomorrow
    You wait 'til tomorrow
You say that money isn't everything,
But I'd like to see you live without it.
You think you can keep on going living like a king.
Ooh, babe, but I strongly doubt it.
    Very hard to drink.
    Very hard to drink.
You gonna wait 'til, fat boy,
    Fat boy, wait 'til tomorrow.
You gonna wait 'til, fat boy,
    Fat boy, wait 'til tomorrow.
    You wait 'til tomorrow.
    You wait 'til tomorrow.
You gonna wait 'til, fat boy,
    Fat boy, wait 'til tomorrow.
You gonna wait 'til, fat boy,
    Fat boy, wait 'til tomorrow.

I roadied for this band when they first appeared on the pub scene in Sydney, they couldn't do the gig unless their parents were present coz they were too young to be in a pub. They always brought us a slab of beer for loading in and out their gear. I don't remember any other band I roadied for ever doing that. Great lads and great parents too

Silverchair was a band of 3 teenagers from Australia who gained major exposure with their hit single "Tomorrow", first released on an EP in 1994 and also appearing on their debut album a year later. The band wrote, recorded, and performed their own songs, unlike some other contrived teenage acts. "Tomorrow" is about a rich man who takes his easy life for granted until a streak of bad luck forces him to endure an overnight stay in a sketchy old hotel.

I'm 23 and this is my favorite song as well. As a musical person, it's not easy to sing either. Daniel Johns' voice is about 100 times stronger than Kurts or Eddies, or whatever. Chris Cornell and Scott Weiland are more his level. His new stuff like Aerial Love isn't really my thing, but it shows that he has a dangerously good voice. I seriously doubt the other grunge guys could follow him, the kid just has a fortunately very high voice and a great accent. Sometimes kids just get damn lucky and this song is great. A shame he struggles with his glissados on the live version though.

Maybe it's just a phase of his and one day he'll look back on all he's done and see things as he once did, then it'll hit him that those times we listen to in his old day songs were the best of all.

    • @DavidJohanssonSN
      @DavidJohanssonSN Před 8 lety +7

Rafael Santos In case you weren't aware, Dan himself despises this album and the one after it (Freak Show). Direct quote:
"I don't feel like our first two albums were Silverchair: that's our teenage high school band. I don't like them at all. I listen to them and go, 'That's cute', especially the first one, because Frogstomp we were 14. But the second one we're like 16, I'm like 'You're getting older. You're running out of chances'."
I honest to god hope that this R&B stuff he has going on right now is just a phase. We have enough pop stars as it is.

Daniel John's and Silverchair is my escape while I prepare for this bloody pandemic. God, I want to go back to the 90's when life was less crazy and hectic. My biggest issue in life was finishing my doctorate. Not catching Covid-19 and dropping dead early. Wow, that young man in this view was like 15 or 16 at the time this came out and it was huge!!! Now at 41 he keeps evolving as an artist and making great music. His voice is so strong and powerful. I couldn't believe this was a young teenager singing when I was in the lab working on my dissertation. Awesome and underrated band!

When I was a kid I remember my sister's boyfriend had a CD collection that spanned multiple living room walls. One day he told me to pick out any CD that I wanted and I could keep it, so after looking for a few minutes I finally landed on Silverchair Frogstomp because of the frog on the cover. My sister gave me a weird look and was like "are you sure you wanna take that one?" and emphatically I said "yes".
I loved that album so much that for the next few months that CD never left my Discman. If I remember correctly I burned a line in the disc.

To all the newbie kids who say this is crap: These kids were in their early teens when they wrote, played, & recorded this with real instruments & singing without any special effects! Anyone can get a computer & some music apps & make beats, but how many of you can actually play an instrument let alone sing at the same time! I write my own songs too & know how much time & effort goes into it. I don't need auto tune to sing either! This is real music, it has feeling, and although originality hasn't existed for sometime-everyone has their own "flavor"! The real music of today is underground & you have to dig for it unless you like to be spoon fed the over processed auto tune muzak that consists of today's mainstream "artists", with their packaged rebellion on sale now at a hot topic near you! Welcome to suburban mediocrity! Pick up an instrument, learn to play it, find others who are doing the same & start a band. Make your own tshirts & never buy brand new clothes again! Do it all yourself, write your own songs, record your own music, book your own gigs & never compromise your artistic integrity for money! Unless of course you want to be a record company bitch sellout, then go ahead & sign the contract! Leave the real music to real ppl!
