    Hey there! This brings so many memories back of when i worked in fashion as an assistant buyer. It was awful on my mental and physical health - not everywhere is like where i worked im sure. @@karolinakielczewska7420 I work at a non-profit as a database analyst! Its similar because i do reporting and analyzing, manage lists, ensure accurate information in the system and online, and assist with the e-commerce site.
      How its different is what im analyzing and reporting on :) Now, i am doing analyzing and reporting on donations, events, people that visit, and memberships rather than sweaters and blouses like in the fashion industry. Instead of keeping up to date on fashion trends, i keep up to date on the non-profit sector and DEAI.
      Knowing Excel, having project management skills, communication, creating presentations, and having a strong knack/desire for numbers came in handy for both industries with similar skill requirements. ☺️ recognizing transferable skills when looking for a new job is super key! Good luck on your job search if you are on one 💕

It’s definitely doable without a degree and without crazy experience. You just have to be willing to start small and grow with the company. And i agree definitely need to know excel. • @tonytaf107
      @tonytaf107 Před rokem

      @@nguyentrinh4553 Aww, it is a course provided near my hometown in Switzerland. Only job seekers from our department and with the right requirement can do it. Must speak fluent French, advanced English and Intermediate(ish) German. Also experience, and I got it luckily starting as a receptionnist and had an opportunity given to me. But what I would suggest you is to master 2 things in Excel : Pivot tables, and the formulas used in business analytics. I give you (below) the following links of awesome tutorials, which I still watch and once you really good at it, no reason not to apply and highlight the fact that you know how to use those. Do the business analytics, last. Start with pivot tables beginner (2 vids) and then advanced (2vids). With this, you got all it takes to start.
      Also, knowing other languages is key as in supply chain you may talk with people from around the globe. Eventhough I quit my last job cause of a boring and toxic office athmosphere, I got the opportunity especially cause my English is above most people in my country, my German is some kind of just ok😂 🤫, and my Spanish is good. So for supply chain jobs languages are very great tools eventhough everyone communicates in English at the end of the day. Good luck ✊🏼👍🏼

      Then same for intermediate/advanced together same 1 hour short one and a longer one.
      Everything you need is there. Get in a company what ever position (receptionnist, warehouse whatever) and then apply for a position in supply chain such as buyer, planner, procurement, your choice.

      ALSO-I’m sort of an excel/Google sheets geek and love conditional formatting/creating dashboards/trackers but I’d say at an intermediate level. Specific to this role-which functions and formulas should someone be able to demonstrate or mention on an application/resume aside from vlookup?

    • @PassionSymone
      @PassionSymone  Před rokem +1

      I definitely would say it’s similar to a procurement coordinator! As far as other functions and formulas, I personally don’t think you need to know too much since each position is specific to that company and the coordinator role is more entry level. So as long as you demonstrate that you are teachable and willing to learn, then I think you’re good 😊

      Hey! I was in the same position as you but I learned essential math skills on the job. Practice basic retail math and create a cheat sheet for yourself with formulas you will need to use every day. If you have a calculator and your cheat sheet, you will be fine! Examples of essential retail math you will need to know and have on your cheat sheet will be things like-
      Calculating a discount on the vendor cost of a product: original vendor price divided by 100, then multiply result by the % discount, which will = the amount you will subtract from the original vendor cost.
      Don’t let minimal math knowledge hold you back. You will learn it fast and you have a calculator so don’t stress!

    • @Softanddramatic
      @Softanddramatic Před rokem +2

      Simple retail math you can get away with using a calculator. And you’re probably going to use excel so i would just Google search for the formula you’re trying to achieve, like percentage change for example. You’re going to be looking at margins, rate of sale, days on hand, etc.
