I know it's a beginner series but it seemed like a win at any cost race for most of the drivers. 😬
It's just hard racing, LMU allows for contacts, you don't randomly get sent to the shadow realm, or meatballed for the slightest tap, it might not be "realistic" but it makes for some very fun racing
Was some bloody good racing in there too. Like the battles with A Saez. Watching this rookie race thinking why can't 4k SOF iRacing battles be this good?
I'd argue that it's more realistic to allow contact and have it be catchable and not always race ending. @@JaredPaul01

I'm quite enjoying this one. Way more than I thought I would. Recent patches seem to have made it much more stable. After following Dan Suzuki's guide to get a radar since I don't have triples yet it's been good fun today.

There is some kind of protection for double shifting in the settings, I use 200ms like in RF2
Entertaining race, was like watching BTCC there 🤣. You could probably enable repeated shifts in the settings until you get your wheel sorted and I was shocked with the grid layout, usually fuji in the GTE's turns into the Ferrari Challenge as it is strong around the track.

but I must say I love the safety and ai steward part.
How it asks you to hand a place back instead of a slowdown like they do on iracing.

In your videos, the sounds of the engine really come out, it really comes alive. And in this game, tire wear seems to be more realistic than iracing. If the anti-skid cut had been bigger in number, would you have been faster? Now the throttle was aggressive. Questions 😁 sry by - Google trans for finns. 😂

I usually like all the rf2 content compared to iracing, ffb, physics, tires. But the RSR is iracing is the best. You’ve got gear options where the other sims their gte is like a GT3. So, looks like the grind will be real to license up to even race a LHC. Maybe if when I get 3-4 days I may 🤷♂️

Wouldn’t short shifting be better coming out of the slow corners? Like turn 1 and the chicane, and also the ones in the final sector. Just wondering, I never played the game.
In the race use qualifying engine mod u can change it in the mfd gives u more power makes u second or more faster

Nice one Dave. Your thoughts on the tyre model vs rF2. These GTE’s don’t feel connected to the road…it’s drive and slide….reacting to visuals not FFB for me. Also, are you using your rF2 FFB profile? I’ve been trying all sorts to try and get a better feel. LMP2 race much better.
Is it just me or does it seem every time you get on any straight your tires go from molten red, to ice cold within 100ft. I think the tire temp system is bugged and is literally frying the fires then dumping them into liquid nitrogen every corner. Yes tires cool back down on straights but not like its showing in-game, they still hold and generate heat from the rolling friction

For everyone who is complaining about the huge dead spot in the middle of your steering(fanatec users specifically) set your speed torque sensitivity to 100% (despite being advised tuh not tuh 😆), it actually works
Glad you can get your game to load and actually work. I bought it and was not able to play it. Kept crashing at start.

I've been getting double shifts too, they need to add a debouncing setting in the options
A couple times it happened twice in a row trying to go 3rd to 1st and ending up in reverse lol
U have a setting to put 100ms for shifting and also an option to put ’on’ to avoid to go to netral
A little earlier today I was in your lobby and managed to qualify in p2, for the first time I was in the 1:35 range. But it was complicated, I crashed, or someone crash me in the first corner :( ... But that's ok

Well "Davey Boy" it is fun to watch you struggle (for a change) but I think this game is too unrealistic for me to get excited about playing. Keep up the good work

Crazy race Dave. The curbs are not your friend at this track. They really seem to upset the car. Watch an onboard of the RSR here and you will see there are only a few curbs they climb over.
Looked like Wreakfest. I don't like this game at all but you make it fun to watch.

I’ve noticed the Porsche is pretty bad about that liftoff oversteer especially on cold tires. I might change cars until I can actually drive well.

There's something wrong with the tyre temp modelling. The rears are always hotter than front, which never hold the temp in the correct window. And default setup is minimum tyre pressure. Ice racing.
YES, its very busted, your tires only generate heat under braking in the game, the second you accelerate your tires go full ice, which is so far from how things actually work.
It's a much tighter race when everyone is on equal footing

Race control is just what they call the online system. It's just part of the title. If you click online you're in race control 👍
First time I started it up it said couldn't connect to race control but I was able to go online anyway
@davecamm thank you guys, I got it figured out, it automatically sends you to the registration page for Race Control and then your good. Sorry for seeming stupid. Guess if I would have just been patient, I would have figured that out.. lol Hopefully I will get to race with you/ against you in here sometime @DaveCamm.. Your a Legend!!

They really need to sort up the default setups if they're going to have fixed races. Try the Ferrari next and you'll see what mean.

Tire temps play a huge roll if your tires are cold they basically blocks of ice. Needs a little tuning to be more like the gte cars in rf2 imho

Maybe Porsche specific. I joined 3 races in the Ferrari 488 GTE today and tyre temps were not a problem. Had enough grip after 2nd lap. Maybe he should try more trailbraking to generate temperature and grip to front tyres...
I would buy this game if is available for VR. I cant play simracing games in a flat monitor anymore. Even now i got Varjo Aero VR.
Now it's €30 because it's in early access. Maybe later when they add vr it will have more cost
There is a trick to run LMU in VR and you find a tutorial on CZcams. I don't know how well it works, but you need rF2 as well.

Drop post process to low, helped bring my fps up to 80-90 on triple 1440 still looks good too
8y old pc with 1080 and i’ve managerd 90fps, you have to down some graphic setting and visible véhicule help
What did they do with the RSR's sound?!?! LMU took one of the best sounding cars in the world and made it sound like a wet fart.
To be fair to Julian, the only thing he did wrong was the dive into the chicane. but Dave dodged that on time so i think its alright? i don't think he meant to dive bomb there
You guys looked like you were driving in rain. Given I actually race a gt3 spec porsche I believe the physics model here needs quite a bit of work. It is not the easiest car to drive but not a treacherous as this appeared.
You get quite a lot of grip but the car rotates like crazy at low speed, makes it look visually off. I prefer how the gt3s drive in rf2 still

ive only ever seen this track driven where the braking point is just under the gantry.. seeing you brake just after it every time gave me consistent anxiety

A big thing that catches out new or iracing players is this sim actually gets dusty/dirty off the racing line making for low grip. LMU has dynamic tracks making the racing so much more engaging, can't wait to jump back on.
You obviously don't play iRacing. iRacing has had dynamic tracks for a long time. It has rubber buildup, marble buildup, dirt and dust and also the track temperature changes with weather and also changes based on the cars driving over it.
