it's the guy's first premier event, he already got top 8 right off the bat, by having a dominant performance all around the tournament, beating guys like kazunoko with authority, and only losing a super close match against fuudo and another one by one of the strongest players in the world at the moment, and people are already judging his gameplay... i feel like a big part of the FGC nowadays has a really shortsighted mentality
Daigo needs more work against Necali, he lost to gamerbee's necalli from Redbull two weeks ago as well... otherwise I think daigo played great this tournament, almost took down Fuudo if not that input error, convincing victories against many others as well. But this match Haitani totally dominated Daigo like Gamerbee did

Daigo needs to get the necalli mu down. Hes been eliminated by two in tournament even though the kumite wasn't a cpt event. But first major tournament and he gets 7th. Good showing IMO.

Seems like the removal of the Ultras and FADC has limited Daigo's punish options /: It looks like the only time he does real damage is when he punishes something with a combo into shinkuhadoken.
Yeah you are right, although Ryu has some crazy punish options in this game but looks like Daigo hasn't been practice (also never uses the parry)...
It's funny how everybody thinks Daigo is a goner while other japanese top players like Tokido never thought of him any less. Looking at what people say right now it reminds me of what people said about him when Daigo first picked up Evil Ryu.

Daigo lost to Fuudo and Haitani. Fuudo got second and has been playing a lot with Daigo recently. Of course Fuudo is going to pick up on some of his habits. Haitani was considered THE best Japanese player BY the Japanese. It's not like Daigo is drowning in pools and losing to players who aren't great.

+AlexBaia Ryu é um dos personagens mais fortes do SFV, e não é apenas eu quem digo mas também diversos TOP players em suas recentes tier list. Ele simplesmente perdeu para o Haitani que talvez seja o melhor jogador japonês do momento, e o melhor Necalli. Méritos ao Haitani e esperemos que o Daigo se aprofunde mais no jogo.

Man, I hate to say it, but it looks like Daigo has finally lost it. Bad DP's, too many sweeps, too many dashes, just bad play all around. He had a poor strategy and failed to capitalize several times on things that should have won him the round, like when he V-Triggered and then whiffed the sweep. He should really know his ranges. He could have thrown a fireball to get the dizzy. It's really sad to see, the other players have sized him up and they have his number.
+August Greig Just yesterday Daigo murked Kazunoko who was his demon at the end of 4. Just because he he got destroyed by Haitani doesn't mean he's done. Man made top 8for fuck sake. Also, you have no idea how many times people have said Daigo was done. For once can people just applaud his opponent rather than focus on how Daigo is done.

+Azure Saiyan Did people forget that Daigo lost to one of the best, most consistent players in the world right now? Haitani just recently won BAM and has made top 8 in every Premier Event so far (4th Final Round, 7th Norcal Regionals, 5th Stunfest). No shame in that.
