He might have played ok this match but don’t forget we’re playing a championship side currently 16th position.. and Dubravkas stats are terrible, conceded something like 32 goals in 18 matches, pope conceded 17 in his last 20 matches.
He's on fire? He's been terrible since coming back in. Pulled a few good saves off against a bottom half Championship side.

Even though I'm Newcastle until the day I die, I have to admit, for any neutrals... What. A. Game.
In terms of our performance, we were pretty bad for the most part. Sure, Gordon, Almiron and Dubravka were exceptional. But other than that, we played quite badly. We kept fumbling easy chances and giving away too many chances to the opposition. Speaking of the opposition, Blackburn Rovers. I underestimated them, and wow, they surprised me! They were playing really well the whole time, especially their goalkeeper. Blackburn really gave it their all, pushing us right down to the wire.
Well done Blackburn Rovers for a stellar performance. You deserved to go through almost as much as we did. As for Newcastle United, we keep pusing through the FA cup! Let's go get this silverware that has too long evaded us! Howay the lads! 🖤🤍🖤🤍🖤
I felt for the first half Gordon was very quiet(like our whole front line). I’m worried he has lost a bit of that cocky confidence

Although we created chances - Gordon & Barnes missed sitters - many of our lads looked as if they'd never played together before. Dubravka got us through.

We are in the last 8 We have a few weeks of 1 game a week to get players really match fit….isak, barnes, murphy, anderson willock all need a month of game time to be at elite level…i am a lot more optimistic than you, or the other commentators…onwards & upwards
@mark.k7206 it's OK being optimistic, but reality has to set in at some point. We're shite right now, can't blame fatigue or injuries any more. We have pretty much a full fit squad....questions have to be asked, has howe lost the dressing room? Why is it so different, the defence has more leaks than a Welsh gardener. Someplayrrd just running around the pitch like headless chickens....namely longstaff for starters. Live in the here and now, live in reality, not in hope.
They always say you need ‘a bit of luck’ but that was ridiculous 😂. Fair play to Blackburn, play like that all season and they’ll be flying.

Scrappy game but we dug in, fought hard and got our just rewards at the end. Fantastic from Dubravka! Also great to see Elliot Anderson back fit and having the confidence to tuck his penalty away well. That shows his strength of character, really pleased for him. Well done lads, Toon Army ❤🍻

Longstaff losing the ball, or giving it away cheaply, Dubravka performing miracles to keep the toon in the game. Jacob Murphy being mindless waste of space, poor decision making time after time... Gordon being selfish when a pass could be so simple to a team mate. The jokers at the back being casual and causing disaster. The manager should really be worried, if this is now the kind of performance we should expect. Thank you, Martin Dubravka. You saved so many Geordies from losing their minds tonight.

Jesus we made that hard work. Credit to Blackburn, they were great, but there was no way our team should have struggled that much. So many heavy passes, poor first touches, wasted chances, never anyone moving into space. It's like the squad have had a massive barny and don't want to play together.

Almiron fed some really good passes inside the Opp. Box but, the goal scorers were more focused on being the one to score than making sure they first positioned themselves correctly, reading the pass and reading the mentality of the person making the pass. A lucky win to be fair. Hope we have a better synergy as a team in the Quarter finals 🖤🤍

Willock was dreadful! That’s the worst performance I’ve ever seen from him. Barnes and Longstaff were also horrendous. We need Tonali and Joelinton back in our squad ASAP. Our players have literally no confidence whatsoever. Eddie Howe needs to change this around quick.
Sadly it feels like we have bigger issues than just getting a player or two back, we are not the same team and haven't been for months, people kept saying the same with Willock back with Isak would help us but it didn't look good sadly, something has to change asap.

dubravka gets too much shit for some of the goals but in reality most goals are either schars or botmans faults or bad passes (or bruno/longstaff). Not much a keeper can do in certain situations.

The result is everything, the performance so so, but given the Arsenal no show, they arrived a team under immense pressure to win a game on paper they should and produce a performance. They hung on in there against a highly motivated Blackburn who had nothing to loose. Keeper was immense and 4 excellent penalties especially Anderson, who hasn't played and was only on the pitch 5 minutes.
Incredible performance for Newcastle! Blackburn gave them quite a test.Dubravka was fantastic, how else can you describe his exceptional heroics!!?? Kudos to you Newcastle United.You thoroughly deserved this win.
