    Just started playing around with tint. This video should be one of the top tinting videos. Helped me so much on an 96-00 civic rear window. All 4 corners gave me trouble until I saw this trick. After seeing this I got it in 1 shot with minimal mistakes.

    Excellent video. The curved rear window of my Ford Crown Vic is a real challenge to shrink. I keep getting creases. You gave some good pointers which should help me tomorrow when I give it another try.But when watching your film is shrinking much better than the film I bought off of Amazon.

      Hire a professional. You will never be able to complete that job right with amazon film and no experience, you'll just waste time, money, and need plenty of headache medicine. Hire a good professional installer

      Point taken - I like privacy & installed tint darker than legally allowed and will have to remove and reinstall it each year to pass inspection with 3 cars in the family that would cost about $1000/year. So I took the time to learn to save $$$. The side windows were quite easy but I'll admit I used 50 feet of film before I finally got the rear window completed. If I had high quality film such as www.flexfilmplus.com/ that is suggested in this video I am sure I would have used less.

      Thanks for answer Ralph, but:
      1. I don't do window tinting commercially. If I did, I would probably go for Tint-Tac, but I just want to tint my own car. Your videos explained everything I need to do that except slip solution. That's why I asked you for ratio water:soap.
      2. I live in UK and as far as I can see your product is not avaiable in UK.
      Anyway thanks for your videos. I will experiment until I find best slip solution.

    I put this question on several tint videos. But it applies to this type glass. How do you remove the old tint off a small hatch like this?? And not ruin the defroster? No one seems to show how to remove the old tint. So...any hints? To get it ready for new tint, when it is STILL 98% tightly held onto the glass???

    Why you need a heating gun if the windows is percut tints and can you crack your glass with a heating gun by shrinking your tints to make it a perfect shirking so what’s the spots no the important spots you need to worry a bout when you shrink because I be having ruff problems on the side like it gets very crispy when I get done with the bottom and work my way up to the top rite or left hand corner

  • @15seconds3
    @15seconds3 Před 6 lety

    You could float the tint with dabs of baby powder. All you need is to break the static cling of the film to glass. Instead you went to this drawn out process of wiping soap, waiting for it to dry and washing your hands. If you're making a video about shrinking film on a back glass of a GTI it would be helpful to show a tint on a complete car. You seem to think adjusting your technique to work around the upper wing and side shrouds isn't useful in a video of how to tint a GTI.
