You will see when you take the old one out. We just put it back the same way.

Tis is a intesting video. You solve the (Def quality) issue with the new filter?

Yes because not every place you pump def has good quality DEF. Never get DEF from small mom and pops gas stations. DEF filter blocks out dirt, dust and other small particles that can accumulate in the DEF tank over time from refilling process. Overtime the DEF filter can become clogged with these contaminants which can cause issues with aftertreatment system. A clogged filter can lead to reduced DEF flow, decreased system efficiency, and even engine performance problems. In extreme cases, a clogged filter can cause damage to other components of the aftertreatment system, such as the SCR catalyst. Should be changed every 120,000 miles.

Does the tank have to be empty or can it have def in it?
