    After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel's "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy-the Winter Soldier.
    Based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series, first published in 1941, Marvel's "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" is produced by Kevin Feige, directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, from a screenplay by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely, and stars Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo, Emily VanCamp and Hayley Atwell, with Robert Redford as Alexander Pierce and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.
    "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" is presented by Marvel Studios. The executive producers are Louis D'Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo, Alan Fine and Stan Lee. The film releases March 26, 2014 in the UK & Ireland, and is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

      Mmmmmmm, it is true that Cap is getting stronger in every new film (that pathetic Cap from The Avengers film was not Cap), and especially in The Winter Soldier and Civil War, we can see the Cap from the comics (the fighting skills, stamina, enhanced abilities, etc), BUT, the Cap from the comics is a true leader when the Avengers are in mission, they barely can do something when Cap is not leading them, plus he is an amazing strategist and everybody follows him. That is still lacking in the films, hope that Infinity War is working on that. Sorry my english, I am Latin :)

      I agree. Back in the 80s to the early 1990s, I used to collect comic books. Like most people that I knew, I collected X-Men, Spider-Man and The Punisher. I didn't bother to read Captain America because I thought he was too much of a Boy Scout. A cheesy, goody-two-shoes. The MCU showed me how Captain America can be a pure hearted Boy Scout AND a badass at the same time. I regret not reading and collecting his comic book back then.

People need to keep in mind and remember that Cap was still fairly fresh when it came to mastering his abilities. He had woken up from the 40's so in present day his skills won't look as impressive. He never had time to train because the threat in the Avengers had already begun. In this movie you will see that he is more skilled because he has had time to train (Post Avengers)

      ***** That's only because of Christopher Nolan's lousy fight choreography. Nolan hired the creators of that Keysi Fighting Method to choreograph the fight scenes in The Dark Knight trilogy, which resulted in some of the ugliest, sloppiest, and worst fight choreography in cinematic history with Batman fighting like an orangutan for most of those films. It's not how Batman fights in the comics.

    • @TUkrLad
      @TUkrLad Před 9 lety +1

      44excalibur I think Keysi itself looks dumb. However, I think the fight scenes were phenomenal, it was emotional and intense. You can feel every punch they make and how that applies to the victim. Thats what Batman's fight scene wre about, the tactics, the blocks, the pain. Not the flips and kicks, that comes later. Bane vs Batman was the worst thing to witness as a Batman fan, seeing him all broken and lost literally made me cry. But still it needed a room for improvement, and it holds as a "realistic" fight even to date. (Not to forget when Batman visits Maroni at the club, his moves looked like a real martial artist and not actor trying to play martial artist, Bale did the stunts)

    • @44excalibur
      @44excalibur Před 9 lety +10

      Bogri Namka I actually disagree. I don't think the fight scenes in the Dark Knight trilogy were no more realistic than any other, they just looked a lot sloppier. Batman moved too slow, his vision was cut off by having his elbows up over his head all the time, and Bale really didn't seem to move all that well in the suit. Steven Amell does a much better job on Arrow than Bale did in the Dark Knight movies. Nolan just doesn't know how to do fight choreography well.
      Bale fought more like a thug in a suit than the master marital artist that Bruce Wayne is in the comics, who fights with "the speed of a boxer and the grace of a dancer; who has no one style, but uses a bit of every school." It would've been better if they had used a combination of several martial arts such as Karate, Taekwondo, Judo, Jujitsu, Kickboxing, Eskrima, Silat, Wing Chun, Choy Li Fut, etc., which would more representative of Bruce's extensive training rather than the one-trick pony that is Keysi.
      Also, Bruce Wayne is supposed to be a detective on the level of Sherlock Holmes, with a genius I.Q., yet Bale played him like he couldn't do anything without Alfred or Lucious Fox.

    I believe Captain America is often underrated as a superhero since he doesn't shoot lasers, fly, or have car tossing strength. He is generally thought of as weak. Some people think that because he took down a plane, that plane was weak. In reality, the reason he can stand toe-to-toe with more powerful individuals is because of his combination of his speed, strength, resourcefulness, durability, endurance, shield, and skill. That's a lot of advantages. Also, if he cannot win whatsoever (fight with Loki), he won't back down and will keep trying, which is an admirable trait. Captain America is a good character bc he isn't overpowered and still has his limits, which makes him more interesting and relatable. Yet, he isn't so grounded that he loses the "super" in the word "superhero". He comes off as powerful without being unstoppable. Captain America's ability to be harmed allows him to have an interesting fight against almost any mortal (even some immortals, like Loki).
    Spoilers:
    The fight with Batroc is awesome bc Cap doesn't one-shot him. Instead, it is a test of skill since Batroc is above a normal human physically (though not quite Cap's lvl). Batroc's crazy durability seems to come from his padded uniform (not sure though), which meant that Cap needed to bypass his opponent's durability by landing multiple hits while blocking Batroc's strong kicks (which caused Cap to stumble).
    The fights with Winter Soldier were the best. Not only did Winter Soldier have superior offensive weaponry, he was on Cap's lvl physically. TWS's metal arm gave him superior strength in close combat as well as a means to block bullets. Even with several disadvantages, he fights WS to a draw the majority of the time. The best parts of these fights are that they switch tactics when one fails (mix it up so it's not a boring fight), they both get hurt (more intense that way, rather than have two indestructible bricks going at it), and have a reason to fight (not a senseless brawl).
    So, overall, the fights were well done. Definitely some of the best superhero fights ever made and I hope they only get better. Not just Captain America, but in other superhero movies too.

    • @44excalibur
      @44excalibur Před 10 lety +7

      MajKnight That's not actually true. Many people assume that Captain America's virtually indestructible shield is a vibranium-adamantium alloy, but the fact is that the shield was created before adamantium even existed. The metal in Captain America's shield is a fusion of a vibranium and an experimental iron alloy whose exact components were lost decades ago due to an unknown catalyst entering the melding process when the shield was being made. As a result, no one really knows what that experimental iron alloy was, or how to replicate it.
      Myron McLain, the scientist and metallurgist who created Captain America's shield would later try to replicate the shield's metal, but was unsuccessful, although his experiments would go on to create the indestructible super-metal, "adamantium." This is why the experimental iron alloy in Captain America's shield is often referred to as "proto-adamantium," but to this day its exact formula and components remain a mystery. Interestingly enough, it is slightly stronger than "true adamantium," which Wolverine's claws and skeleton are composed of, as well as Ultron's armor.
      And of course, the vibranium in the shield absorbs all kinetic energy, which both protects Steve Rogers from any blows it receives without injuring him in the process, as well as allowing him to use it as a throwing weapon capable of ricocheting off of multiple objects with little loss of its velocity after impact.

    • @jthwang
      @jthwang Před 10 lety

      Well, since we're being technical, the shield absorbing all kinetic energy would make it un-ricochetable, wouldn't it?

    • @44excalibur
      @44excalibur Před 10 lety +7

      Jt Hwang When it's stationary it does. But according to the source material, when thrown the shield supposedly redirects kinetic energy outward into the object it hits, bouncing off of it without losing much momentum. I guess there's a reason why they call the metal "vibranium."

      thought it was really good, i really enjoyed, i thought the frst one was ok decent, nothing special , it was quite boring, but this one was really good, i enjoyed it as much as the dark knight ( one of my favourite comic book movies ) ,i actually see chris evans as captain america ,really good, i thought it was a better made film than avengers, but i enjoyed avengers more because that element of bringing superheroes into one movie cannot be beaten by by one hero , only an avengers film an surpass an avengers film, but overall captain america was really good, i would give it an 8.9

    One thing that's great about Cap is that he makes an excellent leader.
    He always knows a way out even when he's told there isn't one. He was an
    Actuall captain. He always laid out the planning. He knew numerous
    martial art styles and tucked all the newbies essential millitary
    skills. He made sure everyone on the team was always at their best.
    That's what good leaders do, They see things from the inside and the
    out, whether you were a god of thunder, or just some dude with a bow and
    arrow, or even some extras during WWII. Your place in all this was
    crucial to maximizing everyones safety and was integral for success. And
    even when times got tough, we still managed to make everyone feel like a
    team, like they were a family. Because he knew that's what made them
    strong, that's what made them unstoppable. It's what truly made this
    Soldier - Super

      it would have been anachronistic for cap to fight this way in the first film. it would have ruined the 1940s vibe that they were going for to have cap doing super-agile martial arts stuff and visually would have looked very off.

    Faced with insurmountable odds and the whole world against him, and a literal military jet telling him to stand down ... what does he do?
    Give up? No.
